The Dreamer's POV

Chapter 312 Degree Change

Chapter 312 Degree Change

Park zoomed behind the dragon lord, though I was certain the dragon lord was already aware of his presence. I stretched my arm to the side telling Lucy to stay back, I and Park were more than enough for this.

I held out my hand, charging up a powerful energy ball. I swiftly thrust my hand, sending the energy ball in a thin streak.

The dragon lord merely had to turn his neck as I was aiming for his head. My attack missed, and the dragon lord smirked thinking he had gotten the better of me, however, that was what I wanted.

I nodded to Park, and he returned the gesture. We had something special for the dragon lord.

My position immediately changed. The energy ball hovered at where I was, and I was in the place of the energy ball, just by Park's side. The dragon lord had not anticipated this, and the move had simply been too fast, and it came as a surprise.

I and Park zoomed above, blades in our hands, and the energy zoomed down at the dragon lord, his attention divided.

It croaked as our blades went through his torso, purple blood raining on us. Then my energy ball fell, and doused him entirely, roasting him.

We both flung his smoked body away. I nodded affirmatively to Park, acknowledging him, he did the same, and then, we flew to Lucy's side.

The battleground was less crowded now due to the shockwave, and the force of our attacks.

The dragon lords had abandoned their faces of uninterest, and now, I could see the rage in their faces.

'That's right, we could kill you just the way you could kill us.'

The six that remained all came at us simultaneously, like they partook in a choreography, each seeming like an unstoppable falling boulder.

I took a step back, activating <Haven>. I relied on my hovering weapons and sent it at them. I saw Lucy create red flames and hurl it at them.

Park on the other hand brought a golden needle with a crystal thread and swiftly wove it in the air and as the dragon lords came–after brushing away our attacks, a net stopped their advance, only stretching it over the force they exerted, nothing more.

That gave us ample time to regroup, and we created distance between us and the momentarily trapped dragon lords.

Park clenched the needle and thread, and the net burst alight with lightning. The dragon lords wailing and wiggling like caught fish.

Continue your saga on empire

I charged up an energy blast through them, Lucy responded with her red flames, and in that invisible net, we cooked those oversized lizards.

It was slightly comical, and I couldn't believe it. I expected them or some to rise when we stopped, but then, I got the notifications.

[You have killed a dragon lord]

[You have killed a dragon lord]

[You have killed a dragon lord]

[You have killed a dragon lord]

[You have killed a dragon lord]

[You have killed a dragon lord]

[For defeating these foes as a group, experience points are evenly allocated to each member of the team]

We have turned the tide of the battle around significantly. It remained the dragon god, and he too was an obstacle we could get rid of.

We stood, hovering and expecting a reaction from him, we simply just didn't want to start fighting him right away. He on the other hand didn't spare us a glance, he merely stared forward, as if he was watching something that we couldn't see.

I caught Francis drifting towards us in my peripheral vision. He joined us, and we readied to attack the dragon god.

We all jetted at him simultaneously, preparing our most destructive attacks. Again, he remained stoic and uninterested with us, but we were certain to make that his mistake.

We were a few hundreds of meters away from him and in a second, we would reach and strike him, but then, a blazing attack came from the side, striking Francis, and imploding upon us and creating a massive smoke cloud.

I teleported out of the smoke and so did the others. Francis was mildly injured by the flank and suffering a burn, but he soon regenerated, fresh tissue replacing the burnt area in almost an instance.

The attack had come from the black crack across the sky. It had stopped raining wyvern and demons, but now, we watched as a scaly figure drifted through it and moved to the dragon lord, bowing at them, and then immediately facing us.

They were much smaller than the demised dragon lords, and unlike the dragon lords, they appeared to have a feminine figure–large hips and a slender torso.

I randomly figured to use Absolute Appraisal at that moment. My eyes shone, and the truth was revealed.

[Draconic Lisa Scotfield]

I was utterly surprised. I had hoped to come across Lisa once seeing her in the ranker board, but to think we would meet like this?

I had expected I would feel rage and hatred seeing her, and I wished I had felt so in the moment I saw her, but that was not the case, what I felt was pity.

"Lisa, what have you done?" I heard Francis mutter, his eyes wide-eyed and fixated on her.

'Makes sense that the leader of the largest group of participants knows her.'

I checked through her stats and though they were impressive, she was not going to face all four of us.

She blurred from the dragon lord, and soon appeared before Francis, taking a hold of his neck. Her jaws opened and she bit his head off, blood spurting from what remained of his head. It happened all so fast.

I threw the Forger's Hammer at her, and had Haven over me. The hammer struck her torso, inflicting damage, and sending her down.

I undid Haven, and flared up. I immediately appeared by the tip of the hammer, my hands on it. I pulled it, and spun, striking it on her flank and sending her hurling to the side.

Though I knew it hurt her significantly, it wasn't enough to kill. She found her footing and remained still in the air like nothing had happened. Her gaze was to the ground, almost like she was deep in thought, then she zoomed at me with unmatched ferocity. She came incredibly fast too.

I swung my forger's hammer hoping to deal a final blow when black things invaded my field of vision. One latched onto Lisa, sticking and spreading across her, the others did the same too. She was a magnet for them.

Then, I realized what they were.

"Dark spawns."

They had reduced to slimy black things and latched onto Lisa until a massive black ball was in place of where Lisa was.

Then I heard a voice I had not heard expected.

"You!" The deep utterance came from the dragon god, as he looked down to the master of the black things.
