Chapter 544 543: More Training

Chapter 544 543: More Training

At the summit of the Eternal Waterfall, beyond the veil that blocked the shocking sight that was the summit of the Eternal Waterfall, was a world beyond what any mortal could ever imagine.

'Unbelievable.'

The first thing that caught Corey's eyes was the 'land', if it could be called that, he stood on.

The ground was a calm, glassy sea that stretched as far and wide as the Shattered Sea. Its surface was so perfectly still it mirrored the sky above with uncanny clarity. Every ripple, every shift in the water was subtle, making it seem as though the glassy sea itself was breathing yet it still maintained an uncanny stillness.

At the center of this strange world was a black pot. It was simple in shape yet it radiated an aura of profound mystery and… corruption. The pot hovered ten meters above the glassy sea, and it remained just as still as the glassy sea.

The pot was tilted slightly forward as though it was pouring out its secrets, however, what it released were not secrets but water… an endless amount of water. The stream flowed directly onto the calm, glassy sea below, forming the Eternal Waterfall that plunged into the Shattered Sea far below.

Anybody who saw this would realize two unnerving facts about the black pot.

One, it was obvious at a glance that the pot was the source of the Eternal Waterfall, however, the Eternal Waterfall was as large as ten massive mountains but the pot was just five feet in diameter.

Meanwhile, the Eternal Waterfall was at least two hundred kilometres wide.

It was so strange and disturbing that a pot that was just five feet in diameter and was 6 feet high was the source of a waterfall that was hundreds of kilometres wide.

The second unnerving fact one would notice is that despite the torrent pouring from the pot, the sea's surface remained undisturbed, and was as smooth and reflective as a perfect mirror.

'I always say it, but this dimension is truly one of madness and chaos. How can a pot that small produce a waterfall so large? I need to leave this place or I'll eventually run mad here.' Corey released an internal sigh as he had this thought.

Although in the eyes of Melissa, Old Man Poison, and even Corey's omniscient eyes, the pot was the source of the Eternal Waterfall, what his Paragon senses were telling him was different.

He could sense the familiar aura of an Infinity Crystal in the black pot, and if he was not wrong, the black pot was more like a prison or a seal that bound the Infinity Crystal. Through his Paragon senses, he could also feel that the black pot was extremely sinister and was attempting to 'corrupt' the Infinity Crystal.

It was extremely strange to Corey, and he had no idea if it was possible to 'corrupt' an Infinity Crystal.

'I feel like 'corrupt' is not the right word… It's something I can't comprehend with my current level and knowledge.' Corey furrowed his brows slightly, and then he continued to observe the black pot and his surroundings.

The pot itself felt and looked ancient. Its surface was dark and unyielding, etched with faint patterns of black runes that seemed to shift and twist when viewed from different angles.

Surrounding the black pot was a mist. It was gentle and luminous, and it swirled lazily in the air. The mist carried an almost hypnotic glow, its colours shifting between silvery blue and pale azure. It moved with a rhythm like it was breathing. It also exuded a sense of peace that was strangely unsettling at the same time.

Beyond the pot and the mist were towering spires of crystalline water that rose high up into the sky. Each spire shimmered faintly, catching the glow of the mist and reflecting it in intricate patterns across the glassy sea. The light played along the spires like dancers, creating fleeting rainbows that felt both real and otherworldly.

The sky above wasn't like anything Corey had seen before. A massive ring of swirling clouds hovered high above, slowly rotating like the gears of some celestial machine. The clouds weren't dark or stormy, instead, they carried a soft glow with their edges tinged with faint blue and silver hues.

There was no thunder, no lightning, just an overwhelming silence and stillness that felt heavier than the chaos of the Shattered Sea below.

Small, glowing motes of light drifted lazily through the air, like fireflies lost in a dream. They floated aimlessly, some circling the pot, others dancing around the crystalline spires.

Occasionally, a mote would dissolve into the spiralling mist, merging with it before vanishing entirely.

The air was cool and crisp, carrying a faint scent of fresh water mixed with the aura of something indescribable, something ancient.

'Another horrifying thing about this damn place is that it's so fucking silent. Even the gushing water from the ancient black pot does not make a single sound. Only the sound of our breathing and the movement of our legs can be heard in this damned place.'

If Corey was, to be honest, everything about the world, the realm, above the Eternal Waterfall felt surreal, yet it was undeniably real. The black pot, the glassy sea, the glowing mist, and the towering spires, on their own, were beautiful and terrifying, but together, they created a realm that defied understanding.

"My dear disciple, will you explain to us why you have brought us to such a terrifying place?"

Old Man's Poison voice drifted into his ears, and Corey glanced at his Master and Melissa with wry smiles.

'I didn't want to leave behind either of them because of my relationship with them, I decided to bring them with me without explaining anything, only saying that they should trust me.'

'If I'd left them behind, Azhrun and the rest would have done whatever they could do to get information about me from them... They might even torture them if they fail to cooperate.'

'Sigh. Luckily they trusted me and didn't make it more difficult for me to bring them here.'

Corey smiled, "If I tell you that I have no clue as to where we are and what dangers are here, would you believe me?"

Old Man Poison's right eye twitched, and he took a step forward toward Corey with narrowed eyes.

"I didn't know I raised such a useless student. Didn't I tell you that the first rule a Poison Master must never forget is to always be prepared before a battle?"

Corey smiled wryly, and he instinctively took a step back due to the menacing smile of his master.

"Well, to be honest Master, I couldn't make any preparations before coming here. Everything happened way too fast."

Bong!

Old Man Poison hit Corey's head with his staff, causing Corey to wince and hold his head with his left hand.

"You need more training. After we're done with the Battle of Chosens, you're going to undergo intense training to learn how to fight like a proper Poison Master."

Before Corey could reply, Melissa spoke out first.

"Uhm, guys. I think something is crawling out of the pot."

Both Corey and Old Man Poison snapped their heads in the direction of the pot, and the second they did, they both saw a snow-white hand and arm appear from the mouth of the pot.
