Chapter 543 542: Realm Above The Shattered Sea
Chapter 543 542: Realm Above The Shattered Sea
Corey had always wondered what he was going to see or encounter after reaching the top of the Eternal Waterfall.
According to what he heard and learned from Ryan, those who were able to reach the top of the waterfall and returned alive either lived a terrible life afterwards or ended up killing themselves.
None had been able to write down or say what they saw at the top of the Eternal Waterfall. There was a time when an Ascendant reached the top of the waterfall, desiring to obtain the fabled power of the two Old Ones.
However, she returned with her life barely intact. Other Ascendants, Dreadkeepers, and Tainteds who were paying attention to the situation of the Shattered noticed her return.
The Ascendants tried to garner information from the Ascendant, however, to their surprise and horror, the Ascendant lost control and mutated into an abomination.
Fortunately, there were four Ascendants around her, and they were able to kill her before she was able to cause significant damage to the surroundings and the people nearby.
Although the mutated Ascendant was not able to cause any harm, the fact that an Ascendant lost control after returning from the top of the Eternal Waterfall was enough to put fear into the hearts of the Tainteds, causing countless brave and foolish Tainteds to rethink their thoughts on the Eternal Waterfall.
Corey knew that going to the top of the Eternal Waterfall was beyond dangerous because the Queen of the Shattered Sea had sent every abomination and Goliathspawn to capture him. However, he had no choice but to go if he didn't want to face another tribulation of hell.
To reach the top of the Eternal Waterfall, Corey knew that was not going to be easy in the slightest because he was being targeted by not only the abominations but also by Azhrun, Kaelan, and the twins.
Ryan was there to support and protect him according to their contract, but Corey knew Ryan was not enough to protect him if he tried to reach the top of the waterfall. Ryan was just a single Tier 5, and Azhrun, Kaelan, the twins, the Tentacled Scourge, the Abyssal Leviathan, the Frost Warden, and the Maw were all Tier 5s.
The number of tier 5s they had to face was just too much for them.
Corey knew this, so from the moment he left the shell of the crab-like Goliathspawn, he came up with a very straightforward plan.
Fool every single Tier 5.
Accomplishing such a feat was not easy at all, and if not for his unique abilities, he would have no choice but to run away.
To be able to successfully fool Ryan and the rest, he had to improve his proficiency in his Infinite Mirage skill and the Arcane Elemental Runeweaving skill.
After assigning more than seventy percent of his Stars of Consciousness to improve his proficiency in the two skills, there was a change to the two skills.

Arcane Elemental Runeweaving (Advanced ? Master)

Corey could not increase the proficiency of these two skills past the Master level in such a short time. However, it was more than enough.
With his experience in the virtual reality room of the Perceptual Nexus Repository, he was able to create a fake Corey along with fake environmental effects that were caused by some of his skills and movements.
Creating an illusion of his Master and Melissa was also easy because luckily for him, the twins had no desire to kill his Master or Melissa.
As for the Skybound Sirens, with his improved proficiency in the Infinite Mirage skill, he was able to pass through the group of flying abominations.
When it came to Ryan, although a part of Corey wished he could bring him to the top of the waterfall, the chances of something entirely unexpected or the chances of Ryan betraying him were high if he did so.
The Infinity Crystal was not an ordinary treasure, and he had a feeling that with Ryan's exposure and knowledge of certain things due to his affiliation with a top-tier force like the Supreme Sword Sect, he might even recognize the Infinity Crystal.
Battling Melissa and his Master was much easier compared to battling a Tier 5.
Although he decided to leave Ryan behind, his system contract with Ryan did not allow him to leave without fulfilling his part of the agreement.
His instincts could sense a tinge of danger brewing around him just as he stood at the edge of the top of the waterfall, and he had no choice but to send down his Ascension stone.
'Although losing the Ascension stone leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I don't want to make an unnecessary enemy just because of a stone. I'll also need allies at some point.'
Corey had this thought as he gazed at the scene before him with a calm expression but a rapidly beating heart.
Corey had always wondered what he was going to see if he reached the top of the waterfall. Was he just going to find the Water Infinity Crystal which he guessed was the source of the waterfall or was he going to find a Power at the top of the waterfall?
So many speculations and thoughts had appeared in his mind as he approached the top of the waterfall, however, to his slight surprise, what he saw when he reached the top of the waterfall was nothing.
Corey saw nothing but a waterfall that appeared out of thin air, however, with his slightly improved spatial awareness due to his partially activated void phoenix heart, he was able to sense that there was something in front of them, and to see it, they just had to walk into it.
It was dangerous walking into the unknown, however, Corey was calm and determined as he took that step, vanishing from the sight of Melissa and Old Man Poison.
Old Man Poison and Melissa were stunned when they saw Corey vanish from their sight, but knowing that Corey would not do certain things unless he had a certain level of confidence and assurance in his survival, they also took that step, and then they vanished.
The duo saw Corey in front of them, and then their gazes involuntarily shifted to their surroundingsā¦ The realm above the Shattered Sea.
