Chapter 788 Boom!
Chapter 788 Boom!
"What's all this ruckus?"
Without missing a beat, Damien turned towards the door and complained to Kenneth, "Ariel brought some shape-shifting monster from Heaven!"
Kenneth was flabbergasted when he heard Damien. He quickly darted his eyes around the room to see where that said shape-shifting 'monster' was, but he didn't see anything. Herbert was hiding behind the curtains by now. So, Kenneth thought that only Damien and Ariel were able to see that monster.
He glanced at Ariel and asked in his stunned voice, "There are monsters in Heaven? I thought only angels lived there."
"Isn't it obvious? Monsters live in Hell," Ramon entered the room while answering Kenneth. He had heard Kenneth's stupid question from outside and thought that yesterday's incident had taken a toll on Kenneth's mental health.
Kenneth pointed at Damien and said, "But he said something else."
"Ughhhhhhh!" Ariel covered her face with her palms and produced a guttural sound. "Just let everybody come in first," she said after sighing. She then gestured her palm around her room and asked those who were already inside, "Why don't you all make yourselves comfortable until then?"
Joyce immediately jumped onto the bed, she had been feeling as though she was going to faint for a while now. She desperately wanted to sit down before she collapsed to the floor.
"Vlad, come here," Joyce patted the spot by her side and then asked her husband when she saw him outside the door.
Vlad gladly accepted and sat beside his wife while facing Ariel.
The three boys made themselves comfortable on the sofa and then waited for Niylah, Grace, and Zach to come inside.
Soon after, Niylah and Grace finally arrived together. Everyone in the room turned their heads towards the door and glanced at the ladies. They all looked so serious and impatient for some reason that Niylah believed they all were angry at her for coming in late and making all of them wait.
"Sorry, we were a little late," Niylah said as she scurried inside the room along with Grace.
"How did it go yesterday?" Ramon asked Ariel after his sister and Grace settled down on another sofa that was near the door.
Ariel turned her head and looked at Herbert's shadow that fell on the curtain. She then turned to look at everyone and said while dragging the chair that was in front of the dressing table, "A lot of things happened after I left here."
"Did that mad uncle of yours come at you again?" Kenneth asked with a worried look on his face.
Ariel placed the chair in the middle of the room and then settled down. "No, he did not. In fact, I heard that he got removed from his position of the Chief Prince of the Heaven realm as a punishment."
"He got punished?" Zach asked breathlessly after skidding inside the room and directly jumping onto the soft bed, beside Joyce and Vlad.
Ariel took a deep breath in and nodded while glancing at Zach whose hair was flying all over the place. "Yeah, grandpa told me."
"You met him again?" Zach lay flat on his chest and asked Ariel again.
Ariel nodded, then began retelling all the events that led her into the Heaven realm.
"Whoa! You went to heaven?" Zach asked with sparkling eyes. And he further asked with excitement, "How was it? What did it look like? Is it worth aiming to go there after death?"
Ariel pursed her lips and closed her eyes. She swallowed her laughter and replied after taking in a few deep breaths, "Well, it is obviously beautiful and bright. But I don't really know… I only visited my grandparents' garden this time. I didn't get to visit the residential area of the souls, or whatever it is called, because I knew my dad would be impatiently waiting for me."
"And he was!" Ariel paused for a while and then looked over her shoulder to look at Herbert's shadow again.
Damien had been dying to know about that little trickster. So, he asked Ariel, "And how did you get your hands on that monster? Was he a gift from your grandfather?"
"Monster? You mean that cat that has been hiding there?" Niylah's eyes instantly traveled toward that cat's shadow in the curtain. She wondered if Damien hated cats.

Zach sat up on the bed and followed Ariel's gaze. "There's a cat here? When did you get a cat? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Well, I am going to tell everyone now." Ariel rubbed her face again and thought for a while.
She wanted to tell the story by showing Herbert in a good light because Damien already seemed to dislike him. She didn't want Damien to think as her father did. She didn't want him to think that Herbert was someone sent to spy on her by her grandfather.
However, before she could open her mouth, Herbert stepped out of the shadows and then walked towards Ariel with elegance and pride seeping from him.
Everyone who was in the room now focused their attention on that cute white cat.
While walking, he changed his form into that of the majestic nine-tailed fox.
Everyone's, or rather, almost everyone's jaw dropped when that cat suddenly turned into a majestic white fox with nine fluffy tails.
Herbert kept on walking while spreading his majestic tails as if they were the feathers of a dancing peacock. He stopped and stood by Ariel's side.
He then looked Damien straight in the eyes and nonchalantly said, "I saw Ariel in the Heavenly garden. She was very kind to me though most angels find me unapproachable. I was moved by her, so I gifted myself to her."
Damien frowned and scoffed at that remark from Herbert. And he asked rudely, "What do you mean by you gifted yourself to her?"
Herbert narrowed his eyes and answered brazenly, "It means I bit–"
"Shh! Herbert!" Ariel tilted her head and glared at Herbert for trying to speak so blatantly.
But Herbert kept on speaking, "It means I bit her and entered into a contract with her. Boom! Now I am her familiar for life."
Ariel closed her eyes and face-palmed herself. Herbert went ahead and did the very thing that she was trying to prevent.
"You did what?" Damien sprung up on his feet and shouted in disbelief and rage.
