She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 787 Boys

Chapter 787 Boys

"Yeah, he… talks," Ariel awkwardly answered Joyce. She wanted to say that Herbert did more than just talk, however, she wanted to reveal everything when the others also arrived there so that she wouldn't have to repeat herself again and again.

Joyce was astonished by that cat that appeared to be perfectly normal but could talk. She looked at that cat with great interest.

Herbert didn't like the way Joyce was staring at him so he ran toward Ariel and hid behind her legs.

Ariel looked over her shoulder to look at Herbert and asked, "Are you shy? She will do no harm to you."

"She can't do any harm to me even if she tried," Herbert curtly replied, and also quickly added with some sass, "And no, I am not shy. I just didn't like the way she was trying to defur me with her eyes."

"What?!" both Joyce and Ariel exclaimed simultaneously.

Herbert smirked inwardly after making it awkward for Joyce and successfully avoiding her gaze. "Ah! Peace!" he repeated in his mind.

However, that peace lasted for only a second.

Herbert saw someone who was reeking of dark energy barge inside the room. He had thought that the intruder would stop near the door or would at least stand somewhere far from his master.

However, that person swooped right in and jumped on his master like a hawk clutching its prey; at least that's how it appeared to him from down below.

"Ariel! I missed you so mu– Oww!" Damien shrieked and looked down at his feet when he suddenly felt something sharp scratching his ankle. "What the hell? How did a stray cat get in here?" He frowned and asked in an irritated voice when he saw a white cat that was glaring at him.

"Herbert!" Ariel looked down at her familiar and scolded him, "That's not a nice thing to do to my friend!"

Herbert quickly looked at Ariel with his round big eyes, making it impossible for Ariel to scold him any further.

"That's your cat?" Damien asked in a surprised tone. "I never knew you were a cat person." He kept on glaring at that rude cat and just like Joyce, he asked Ariel, "When did you get him?"

Ariel sighed and picked Herbert up in her arms. And she answered Damien, "I got him yesterday, it's a long story."

Damien didn't think much of it. Since that cat was now Ariel's pet, he tried to pet that cat to befriend it.

However, Herbert hissed as if he was the most ferocious cat in the world and tried to dig his claws into Damien's hand.

"Herbert!" Ariel quickly took a step back. Stay updated through empire

Damien barely avoided getting scratched again.

"Don't do that!" Ariel made Herbert look into her eyes and warned him, "Or I will lock you out of the room. Or even better, I will drop you back at Wyverndale."

"Meoooowwww!" Herbert protested in his cat language and looked down like a grumpy kid.

Ariel gently threw Herbert on the floor and then asked Damien in a concerned way, "You weren't hurt badly, were you?"

Damien was wearing his normal surcoat at the moment. When he had heard that Ariel had arrived, he had run towards her room without even sparing any time to put his shoes on. And because nothing was protecting his skin, Herbert had managed to scratch him pretty deeply.

Even with his super-healing power, those slanted cut marks on his ankle were still visible.

Ariel immediately turned to look at the cat that was cat-walking away the moment he sensed that another scolding was on the way.

"Herbert!" he immediately shuddered and stopped on his way when he heard Ariel's angry scream.

"Oh good gracious! What did you use to hurt him? Knives?" Ariel asked in a stern voice.

Herbert splatted himself on the floor and sat like how a human would. Without turning to look at Ariel, he answered her in an equally stern voice, "That boy is reeking of dark energy. Can't you tell?"

"Herb–"

"Hey, who are you calling a boy?" Damien instantly frowned at that cat and asked. He suddenly realized that the cat wasn't an ordinary one. "What the hell is that creature? It's obviously not a housecat." he looked at Ariel and asked with all seriousness.

Suddenly, an idea arose in Herbert's mind. He smirked and then turned around to give a piercing glare to Damien again.

"Well, he…" Ariel was struggling to answer because she wanted to tell everything that happened yesterday in chronological order, without jumping in and revealing who and what Herbert was from the get-go.

Herbert took that chance to transform himself into Theodore.

Joyce was now beginning to think that she was having hallucinations from the lack of sleep last night.

Damien, on the other hand, was immediately humbled upon seeing the Devil Prince standing tall behind Ariel. He bowed and greeted Ariel's father, "Greetings, Your Royal Hi–"

"Herbert!" Ariel screamed her familiar's name for the umpteenth time and smacked him on the back of his head. "Don't you dare transform into my father, ever!"

Damien straightened his back and looked in front of him, only to see the 'Devil Prince' puffing his cheeks while trying hard to withhold the laughter. "This bastard!" he clenched his fists and screamed in his mind for falling for that filthy thing's trick and looking like a fool in front of Ariel.

Ariel was further angered when she saw 'her father' making weird expressions that she had never had to witness until now. "Are you even listening to what I am saying?" She grabbed Herbert by his ear and warned him, "Stop this before I take you back to the Heaven realm and drop you there."

"Heaven realm?" Damien's frown lines deepened with concern.

Herbert drooped his shoulders and finally apologized, "I'm sorry. I won't repeat this again. I don't want to go back." He then immediately reverted back to his tiny and innocent cat form.

"What's all this ruckus?" Kenneth walked inside the room and asked upon sensing the tension in the air.
