Chapter 751 Unseen
Chapter 751 Unseen
The Goddess brought Irene outside the barrier that used Ariel as the central point and spread out like a dome. As soon as the Goddess glanced at the barrier, it dissolved into thin air, allowing Irene to move freely towards Ariel.
"Where is she?" Irene mouthed to her mother as she looked around the large castle of Romania.
Currently, they were standing at what looked like a path between the main tower and a small tower at the end.
The Goddess pointed towards the small tower and whispered, "She's there." A subtle smile appeared on her face as she further said, "Let's go and surprise Ariel. I can already see how she's going to react when she will see us."
Irene wasn't that confident about meeting Ariel after being absent from her life for all this time. However, seeing how her mother was eager to meet Ariel, she hoped that everything would go smoothly.
"Yes, let's meet her," she mumbled and took a deep breath in before following her mother.
Irene was looking down at the rims of her long white gown and trying to calm herself down. And she was talking to herself, "Irene… Why are you so nervous? It's not like you are going to be shunned by your niece. She's a lovely child. Your mother showed you everything, didn't she?"
While she was trying to calm herself, she didn't realize that her mother had stepped to the side to give way to a young and angry-looking girl who was coming their way.
Victoria suddenly slammed her fist on her palm and burst out in anger, "I can't believe Vlad didn't notice that I wasn't following them anymore!"
Victoria managed to grab Irene's attention when she shouted like that.
However, Irene was inches away from bumping into Victoria by then.
The Goddess came to her daughter's rescue just in time. She grabbed Irene by her wrist and pulled her away.
"What was the point in calling me to greet them when he wasn't even going to notice my absen–" Victoria suddenly brought her palms close to her chest and stared directly at the place where the celestials were standing at the moment.
The mother and daughter had thought that they had averted the 'danger' by not coming in contact with a mortal when they were invisible to their eyes.
But Irene's gown happened to lightly brush against Victoria's fingertips. And Victoria also felt the swooshing of wind as Irene was pulled away.
"Who's there?" Victoria asked loudly as she glared at the flower pot that was right behind Irene. She was sure that she had just touched someone or something.
And because Victoria was glaring right past Irene, the celestial felt as if the mortal was looking right at her. Irene almost answered Victoria.
But the Goddess grabbed Irene by her shoulder and gestured her to not utter a word.
If it was someone else, then the Goddess wouldn't have minded revealing themselves. But there was no way she would grace someone as rude as Victoria with her holy presence.
Victoria turned around and looked behind her in case someone had run past her. But she didn't see anyone there.
The Princess then furrowed her brows. She was a little scared so she quickly scurried away from there.
Irene sighed and whispered, "I thought I was caught." She knitted her brows together and asked herself, "But why was I so afraid? It's not like I am a thief… Or am I?"
Her mother smiled at her and softly said, "We are always cautious about not being seen. So, you might have been startled when she suddenly shouted like that."
"Right!" Irene started to run after her mother again.
The Goddess was considerably taller than Irene. So Irene found it quite difficult to keep up with her mother.
Soon enough, they came across a man who looked like a Prince.
This time, the Goddess pulled Irene to her side so that she wouldn't bump into him as well.
"It looks like she is in that room," Irene thought to herself when she came across a familiar aura seeping out from under one of the doors.
The Goddess also stood outside that same door, confirming what Irene had thought. However, she didn't knock or barge inside the room instantly. Rather it seemed like she was listening to the conversation that was going on inside the room.
"Mother?" Irene looked at the Goddess and waited for her to knock on the door.
But instead of knocking, the Goddess turned around and said in an inaudible voice, "It looks like Ariel is with Joyce."
"Ah! Her cousin…" Irene mouthed.
Her mother gave a nod and said, "Yes. I think we should give them some time. We will come back later."
Irene's stomach was twisting and turning already. And she felt a little relieved when her mother said that they should come back later. She instantly agreed.
The mother and daughter then vanished from there after putting up the barrier again.
After spending what felt like an hour in another part of the world, the two of them reappeared in front of Ariel's door again. Find more to read at empire
And this time, they appeared right in time to witness something which was meant to be a private moment between Ariel and Damien.
They both saw Ariel wrapping her legs around Damien's waist, and Damien picking her up and slamming her body against the wall.
It took a second for Irene to realize what was actually happening between the two of them.
And when Damien leaned down and kissed Ariel on the hollow of her neck, Irene's whole face turned red. In her panic, she grabbed her mother's hand and teleported to some random faraway place with her mother.
The Goddess didn't seem surprised at all.
But Irene was gasping for air and fanning her face with both of her palms.
She looked at her mother with her jaw wide open and said in shock, "We shouldn't have seen that! What do we do now? Do we say sorry to Ariel later? What if she thinks of us badly?"
The Goddess nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders and replied, "We see a lot of things. I can see everything. Does that mean I should go around apologizing to everyone?"
"You are the Goddess. You are allowed to see everything and anything," Irene innocently replied.
The Goddess then sat down on the luscious grass of the beautiful garden they were standing on. And she said, "And you are my daughter. You are allowed to accidentally see things at times."
"I guess so…" Irene also sat down beside her mother.
They silently sat there as the soft wind was caressing their hair and body.
Irene was unable to set aside the image that she had seen earlier.
She could see those two kissing each other aggressively. And she could also see how both of their aurae were running wild.
Right then, something clicked in her mind. Irene suddenly recalled something else. She recalled how she had seen the similar ash-grey aura on a child when her mother had shown the past to her.
She turned her head and looked at her mother's face with wide eyes. And she asked her with a shocked expression on her face, "Wasn't that man the same child? Ariel's childhood friend? Lilith's son?"
"Yes, he is the one," the Goddess replied very calmly. The corner of her lips slightly pulled up as she said that.
"And you…" Irene's heart started to race when she asked in a whisper, "Are you okay with that? Does father know about them?"
She couldn't help but get scared for both Ariel and Damien since she knew how much her father despised Lilith and vice versa. By now, she was also aware of how precious Ariel was to God.
And she couldn't imagine her father being okay with his precious granddaughter falling in love with a demon.
