Inside the room, Shen Li was on his fours. This time since everyone was prepared, they arranged for a rather experienced mid-husband who knew what to do to ease the pain of a mer who was in labour.

"Continue breathing, in and out," Master Zhou said to Shen Li who followed his commands even though he felt like he was about to faint. He gasped and panted, while his core shuddered and clenched. He could feel each cramp getting stronger and stronger, which made his head swoon.

Master Zhou sensed his weakening condition. He turned to look at Fang Chi and Fifth Master Cui before saying, "Feed him a few spoons of the nourishing soup. Make sure not to overfeed, just three spoons will do."

"Y...Yes…" Fifth Master Cui handed the nourishing soup to Fang Chi who thanked him. He then scooped a few spoons and fed Shen Li who was gritting his teeth. It was hard given that he was closing his mouth every time, he tried to feed him the soup.

"Open his mouth," Master Zhou said to Fifth Master Cui. When Fifth Master Cui heard his words, he stiffened and hesitated, however, Master Zhou was older and experienced. He immediately snapped, "There is no time to waste, mers who are giving birth often refuse to eat and many faint because of this which later endangers the life of the child."

"More importantly, he is carrying twins. He needs more energy than anyone! So even if he is not opening his mouth, do it for him. If not his life along with his children would be in danger."

Fifth Master Cui nodded before he walked over to Shen Li. He looked at Chen Mi who was standing on the other side while holding Shen Li's hand, and said, "Excuse my rudeness." He then reached out and unclenched Shen Li's mouth. No sooner did he do that Fang Chi immediately fed Shen Li two spoonfuls of soup before following with the third.

Shen Li gulped in a daze as he screamed again. His hand clenched around Chen Mi's who rubbed his back.

"It's fine, Brother Li. Just a bit more," Chen Mi comforted Shen Li who was sobbing because of the pain.

"Continue feeding him at an interval of fifteen minutes," Master Zhou said as he peeked at Shen Li's condition. "He is not dilated enough and the opening is too small for two children. We are in a long night."

Everyone did not doubt Master Zhou's words and sure enough, even though sixteen hours passed by Shen Li remained in the same condition. Master Zhou placed his hand on Shen Li's belly and said, "A bit more… the children have started to move."

"How much …ahhhh longer!" Shen Li gasped as he shed tears down his cheeks. He couldn't go on anymore. He said to Master Zhou, "Just leave them there… they will be fine… I am keeping them inside me."

He would rather go through three rounds of pregnancy than suffer this pain. The things he went through the past nine months were incomparable to this pain.

Who was the one who said that it did not hurt one bit? Who was it?

He turned to glare at Fang Chi who raised his hands in the air and said, "My Bobo was a really calm child, Brother Li." He came in three hours!

These kids, however, they seemed really naughty they were actually making them wait for 16 hours.

"AHH!" Shen Li gasped as he breathed and clenched the bedsheet under him. He was about to faint but for the sake of his children, he could only hold on.

'You can do this… think of all the pain you have gone through to get them,' Shen Li told himself as he continued to wait through the cramps that were breaking every bone in his body.

Just as he thought that he would end up dying, he heard Master Zhou say, "We can start pushing now. Make sure to follow my rhythm. Do not push unnecessarily and waste your energy."

Shen Li thanked the heavens and started pushing along with Master Zhou's commands.

However, pushing the children out was just as difficult as calmly suffering through the cramps. The more he pushed the more he felt like he was going to be torn in half. Now he only hoped that the arrival of his children would be a smooth one.

Inside the room was a mess but the situation was even worse outside. Yu Dong was now being held down by Wu Junfen and Aunt Wang while Song Yixu handled Yu Dong's job as she could see that Yu Dong was in no condition to take care of her work.

"Let me go inside," Yu Dong said to Wu Junfen and Aunt Wang who clamped her arms even tightly.

"You cannot," Wu Junfen refused, she did not refuse because she believed that it was unlucky but because she knew that if Yu Dong went inside it would only create trouble for Shen Li.

The mers in this world were really suspicious, if Yu Dong went inside Shen Li would end up worrying about her instead of himself. That would only create more stress for him. As Wu Junfen did not want that to happen, she stopped Yu Dong from entering the room that belonged to Shen Li.

"That's right, Dong Dong" Aunt Wang pulled her back and then said to Yu Dong, "Listen to us, if you go inside now then you will only cause stress to Shen Li. We don't want that."

"But…. He… but it has been more than sixteen hours! There hasn't been any moment——"

No sooner did she finish speaking than the sound of a child crying came from inside the room.
