Shane looked at himself, feeling satisfied with the way he looked.

Because they were tiered items, they didn't have any special appearance effects like glowing or causing strange phenomena while wearing them... They just look like fancy clothes. However, the effects they had were definitely real and Shane could feel it.

Anyway, what Shane felt curious about this item was the lack of special activated skills he could use. Of course, he was still grateful since it was a Tier 4 item. He didn't have to spend a lot of Item Upgrade Crystals because of that.

However, what truly surprised Shane was the fact that it didn't just have 2 Set Effects but three! There were Set Effects for two, four, and seven equipped pieces of the Dreadlord Set!

[ You have equipped 2 Dreadlord Set Items. Effect: Increases all Vitality and Spirit Points Recovery by 15%. ]

Although the 15% was a lot lower than his other items, it was still a free recovery effect and he certainly liked it.

[ You have equipped 4 Dreadlord Set Items. Effect: Activates the passive ability Harbinger's Touch—basic attacks have a chance to sap health and energy from enemies. ]

'This effect was a lot better than his Vampire Fang's Dagger that could only drain the life force of his target. Furthermore, the Dagger itself was fragile and he had to be careful when using it.

However, the Harbinger's Touch wasn't an item but an effect… As long as he kept on fighting, the effect would certainly put him at an advantage.

Shane then checked the last set effect.

[ You have equipped 7 Dreadlord Set Items.

Effect: Temporarily grants the wearer the title Dreadlord Ruler.

Title Effect: Enables Rot Rebirth. Upon death, the wearer resurrects with 50% health and a burst of decay energy that damages all nearby enemies. Usage: 5 ]

"Resurrection… This is incredible…" Shane muttered as he realized that the other four copies of the set that he had were basically resurrection items. It also means that he had to be careful handling his gear since the Temporary Title, Deadlord Ruler, would only take effect if he had all seven of them equipped.

'I guess it's a good thing I bought that guy…' Shane thought as he recalled the slave that he bought. It was Borek, a skilled craftsman who seemed to be lacking some Dragon Blood to regain his vigor.

Thankfully, after giving him the Dragon's Veil Elixir, he was already in good condition. Then, once the Gate Stones were arranged, he would be able to negotiate with Raze for more Dragon's Blood.

He might be able to negotiate with Travis as well after they formed a friendly relationship, but that would only be his second option.

After the battle ended, Lysandra, Vernon, Nia, and Kale waited for all of the miasma to dissipate before they cautiously entered the room.

The stench was still there but it was bearable. There shouldn't be any problems with their current strength and resistance.

"Congratulations, Shane… I saw the message in the World Chat… You're the world's first…" Lysandra said as she looked at Shane who was now wearing his new gear.

"It's a good thing we were able to find this place."

"Yeah… It's not bad." Shane said, as if he had no idea how many people are gunning for the title he just obtained.

He then slipped the Mistwalker's Pendant around his neck. Although it wasn't that incredible compared to other items, he liked how it had resistance to status effects like Fear.

After some thought Shane decided not to be stingy and gave his other Dreadlord Set to Lysandra.

Obviously, Nia wouldn't like it as it wasn't a good match with her druidess-like abilities. Her current clothes that boost her Nature Abilities were a lot better in her opinion.

Vernon also has some concerns since he was basically a sniper. The mask and the mantle would just get in his way.

As for Kale, he tried it for a moment but the mask and mantle had also bothered him. Even the boots felt like they would hinder his complicated martial techniques.

Of course, since the three didn't take the Dreadlord Set, Shane decided to give them a different gift. After some thought, he took out three of his Harbinger of Decay Skill Scrolls, leaving him with only two in his Inventory.

Well, after recalling all of his memories, he already had plenty of skills and he might need to fuse most of them later on.

"Here," Shane said, handing one scroll to each of them. "These scrolls contain a fragment of the Harbinger's power. You might obtain a decent skill. Try it now."

"Awesome! I'm not going to reject that." Kale said.

He was also the first to use his scroll.

As he activated it, the scroll disintegrated into black and gold particles, which flowed into his hands.

Just like that, a rush of knowledge flooded his mind.

[ Skill Learned: Decay Strike

Type: Offensive

Description: Imbues a melee weapon with decaying energy, causing each strike to erode the target's physical defenses over time.

Effect: Targets struck weakens their defense per hit. Their regeneration is reduced by 20% and disrupts the flow of their Spirit. ]

Kale was elated after seeing his new ability since it fits his position as a vanguard.

"This is going to make every swing count. Perfect for my close-combat style." Kale said before sharing the information with Shane.

Shane nodded as it was indeed perfect for Kale.

"But this seemed to be better when used against people instead of Zombies…" Shane commented. He also realized that its disruption ability was better if used against humans.

"I'm next!"

Vernon said as he also completed the process. The scroll soon dissolved into a form of energy that wrapped around him before sinking into his body. Then, he gasped as the new skill became part of him.

[ Skill Learned: Plague Aura

Type: Utility / Area of Effect

Description: Creates an aura around the user that releases a toxic miasma, damaging others within a radius and reducing their movement and attack speed.

Effect: Deals 3% of the user's Spirit Points power as damage per second. Reduces other's movement and attack speed by 10%, stacking up to 30%. ]

Vernon smirked. "This is going to give those Zombies a bad day. And anyone else who decides to cross us."

Shane looked at the skill and wryly smiled at it. "That effect also affects us… So you better use it when you're alone. Anyway, that's good for a marksman like you. It can help you escape if you're being chased."

"What?"

As Shane said this, Vernon's smile froze and he quickly checked the skill once again. Indeed, although he wouldn't be affected, the others would be affected since his skill couldn't identify friends or foes.

"Ugh…" Vernon groaned for a moment but he still accepted the skill since it was something new and he felt that he would love it soon. He just really has to be careful when using it with his allies.

Seeing that her companions had gained some incredible skills, Nia was, of course, excited to find out what she would get. She then took her turn and activated the scroll.

Then, she closed her eyes, letting the dark energy envelop her. She felt that the more she absorbed the energy, the better skill she'd get.

Soon, a faint shimmer appeared in her palms as the skill settled within her.

[ Skill Learned: Petrifying Sphere

Type: Offensive / Crowd Control

Description: Summons a ball of energy that creates a field of Petrification at the activation area. Targets within the field will be turned into stone for a short duration.

Effect: Petrification for 10 seconds. Targets in the field take 15% additional damage from all sources for the next 5 seconds. ]

Nia opened her eyes as she checked the new skill she just obtained.

"This will be devastating in the right moment. Group fights just became my specialty." She muttered. She already had Verdant Bloom and Thorned Barrier Skills.

With the addition of the Petrifying Sphere, her level of crowd control skills had just gone higher.

Shane couldn't help but nod at this. After all, she was indeed one of the best supports out there.

After this matter was settled, Shane and the others looked at the sky from the window and confirmed that it was already getting dark. They had to find a place to stay for a while.

This place, which had been the base of a Toxic-Based Zombie, was definitely not a good place to stay for the night.

Thankfully, A.I. Cloud had also improved and was able to find a perfect place not too far from their location.

In less than 10 minutes, their group arrived at a fortified building. This place was actually quite hidden well between some large buildings. It seemed as if it was meant to be an evacuation shelter, based on how it was designed.

"We will stay here for the night…" Shane said as he started preparing for their defense.

First, he lit up five of their Zombie Repellent Candles. This may not be effective against Mid-Tier and High-Tier Zombies but it was still a decent one.

Then, they activated the Guardian Node, a barrier that could last for a while in case they were ambushed. After that, Shane also took out some of the Reinforced Barricades at the entrance of their building.

Finally, Shane could focus on his plans for the night.
