Chapter 83 : Damn reality
Chapter 83 : Damn reality
In front of the creature, my heart beats frantically, its deformed contours projecting an intimidating presence. It's a Medium-Gold level demoness, its imposing two-meter figure seems to defy the very concept of fear. The twisted, elongated hands, reminiscent of the branches of a withered tree, send shivers down my spine, as if a cold shadow is sliding over my skin.
Despite the fear stirring within me, I know I must maintain composure, though the mere idea is a challenge.
With a determined gesture, I activate my aura, and an indescribable darkness seems to swirl around me, as if I'm summoning the shadows themselves. My hair, white as snow, comes to life in a ghostly dance, while my eyes, red as blood, turn into pools of deep black, reflecting the terror consuming me from within.
My senses sharpen, alerting me to a danger lurking in the depths of her eyes, while an ominous calm seizes my breath, foreshadowing the impending storm. With every fiber of my being vibrating with tension, I am ready to face the enemy...
"Damn bitch, I'll tear you apart!" I shout in joy upon finally discovering who the tormentor was.
"GIAAAAAA!" Her scream is sharp and annoying.
I think she got mad because I called her a bitch...
The sword in my hand seems to come to life, its glow intensifying with every beat of emotion coursing through my veins. I run towards her with determination, feeling the ground tremble beneath my feet, an unsettling omen that activates my danger senses instantly. With skill, I perform a quick footwork, shifting to the right in an instinctive attempt to evade the unknown.
Boom!
The ground I had just left becomes a deadly trap. Suddenly, sharp and pointed reddish branches sprout from the ground. A chill runs down my spine as I realize those projectiles would have pierced through my body mercilessly. It's a vivid reminder of the dangerous dance I'm involved in, where every step could be my last breath.
Adjusting my stance, I grip my sword tightly, the ethereal glow coating it seeming to respond to my determination. Closing the distance to the demoness enough, wielding my sword in a horizontal attack, adrenaline runs wild through my veins.
Bang!
I open my eyes surprised to see how her hand, or whatever it is, transforms into some sort of sword, taking the blow head-on. After a few seconds of daze, I quickly jump backward.
Bang!
With a precise strike, my left foot impacts squarely on her face, making her fall to the ground. A projectile seems to head towards my right eye, but time slows down, allowing me to make an instinctive move.
Flushh!!!
The projectile passes close to my face, but...
Slashh!!!
I feel a sharp pain in my ear, a large hole forms in my ear where the projectile went directly, almost tearing it off completely, taking away a large amount of flesh. A warm liquid runs down my neck, recognizing the blood, my blood. Although the pain persists in my ear, I can't afford to be distracted. The battle is not over yet.
Applying more aura to my body, I perform my footwork, the aura reaching the sword starting to form a mix between both forces, feeling the pulsations of the sword increasing. The demoness lets out a gut-wrenching scream, her jaws open to welcome a darkness that seems to have no end, and from her mouth thousands of branches emerge, like a flowing river heading directly towards me.
An avalanche of vines tries to grab hold of each of my limbs tightly, and I don't even want to imagine what kind of atrocities this demon will do to me if it catches me alive.
With great skill, I move my sword to intercept every attack coming towards me, my mind divided into multiple thoughts trying to cut off as many vines as possible.
"Gaaaaaa" closing her mouth, the remaining vines form a circle around me.
"Don't even think about it!" Performing my footwork, I disappear from my position, reappearing behind her. The muscles in my arms compress, with a vertical strike, I attack from her back.
But she disappears...
BOOOM! AUGE!!!
My sword clashes against the hard ground creating a considerable crater.
Doubting for a moment, I look down to find a large hole in the ground, somewhat distracted I feel a presence in front of me. Lifting my head, I see her in a strange pose, while her eyes never stop staring at me.
Somehow she was doing some yoga poses, her branches intertwining one by one in a strange dance.
After a few minutes, a change occurs in her appearance. Once she was a mixture of flesh and branches, it was horrible and terrifying, but now, she seems to have armor made finely and elegantly, even beautiful, and the air around her becomes even more oppressive.
"Damn it, don't tell me she's also an anomaly," I whisper in shock. If it's true, then I'm in serious trouble... I won't be able to face her in any way. Even against the hybrid that was of the same rank as me, I came out with considerable injuries, but now, if she's also an anomaly, I might even end up dead.
But then, in a sinister twist, the surroundings darken abruptly, as if a dense shadow looms over us. The air becomes heavy, laden with a sense of fear and desperation that roots itself in the depths of my being. My guts twist with unease as I watch in horror as the creature continues its strange and disturbing dance.
Her mane, once smooth and dark, comes to life with an indescribable malevolence. The strands intertwine with the reddish branches sprouting from her back, forming a tangled mass that writhes with malignant energy. Behind her, a variety of shapes come to life, turning into branches that grow and intertwine, creating a dark and twisted forest that seems to whisper threats in the wind.
The face that was once a grotesque and deformed skull now undergoes a macabre transformation. Her features become more defined, acquiring a perverse beauty that freezes the blood in my veins. The eyes, once dull and lifeless, now burn with a crimson intensity, like glowing embers in the darkness.
Her hands, once frail and skeletal, transform before my eyes into elegant and delicate appendages, with fingers sharp as claws. The arms take on a feminine softness, but their beauty is tainted by an aura of latent danger. Her body contorts and molds itself, adopting a seductive yet terrifying feminine form, with every curve and contour designed to seduce and terrorize in equal measure.
From her skull, where two horns once stood, now two more sprout, emerging with renewed malevolence. The new horns take on a reddish hue, in perfect harmony with the rest of her body, as if they were imbued with the same demonic essence that envelops her. These new, twisted and sharp protrusions rise threateningly towards the sky, adding an even more terrifying dimension to the creature's presence.
It's as if hell itself forged those horns, endowing them with a dark power that undoubtedly multiplies her fierce appearance even more.
Fear paralyzes me as I watch this grotesque metamorphosis, aware that I'm facing something more than just a simple creature. This manifestation of terror awakens a primordial fear in the depths of my being.
Swallowing dry saliva, my soul trembles.
She is indeed an anomaly, she has just risen to the Platinum-Base rank...
Two ranks above me, an existence I cannot face right now, a vast difference in power like heaven and earth makes me feel incredibly small and insignificant, cold sweat keeps falling down my back.
Looking at the creature as it somehow mocks me... as if she already knew the outcome of this battle...
Fear roots itself in the depths of my being, weaving its icy claws around my mind. Incredulity overwhelms me as I face the cruel reality of my situation. I have barely taken my first steps in Zone 3 and already I am confronted by this monstrous aberration in my path. It's as if fate mocks me, throwing me into the jaws of danger without mercy or warning.
Absurd, abnormal, incomprehensible; no word seems sufficient to describe the shock I experience as I find myself before this living horror. My expectations, my meticulously laid plans to face Base-Gold rank demons, vanish in an instant in the face of the magnitude of this threat. I am out of my element, overcome by an enemy that defies all logic and understanding.
Space freezes, freezing the air around us in a sepulchral silence. No one moves, trapped in a moment of fear-induced paralysis. I, trembling with uncertainty, and she, with an enigmatic expression that defies all understanding. Her eyes, two dark abysses that seem to penetrate to the depths of my soul, watch me with an intensity that chills my blood.
Suddenly, as if a veil is lifted from her face, she tilts her head slightly and her smile widens, revealing a twisted grimace that sends shivers down my spine.
