Chapter 785 He’s Built Differently
"Welcome, everyone!" Thirteen greeted with a smile. "Today, we will know who will become the last finalist for the Championship Match! So please, welcome Char and Erica!"
The audience cheered as the two ladies made their appearance.
Both ladies had countless fans, and they were also included in the Top Five of the Heavenly Beauty Rankings, making them the ideal ladies in the eyes of every young man who was looking for potential marriage partners.
Despite Erica's declaration to make Zion her fiance, she was still very popular among the young men. Many of them hoped that she would change her mind and call off her engagement with Zion in the future.
When both ladies arrived at the arena, the cheering slowly died down, but everyone was certainly excited to see who would win between the two.
"Are you both ready?" Thirteen asked.
"I'm ready, Darling~" Erica replied sweetly, making sure to make her stance known to everyone. Char narrowed her eyes because she could feel something very dangerous exuding from the Sorceress, whose eyes had locked in with her own.
"Erica, let's finish this with a single exchange like what the others did in their matches," Char proposed.
She believed that she might have a chance to win if Erica agreed to her proposal.
But contrary to her expectation, the Sorceress denied her request. "No," Erica replied. "I refuse."
"Why?" Char inquired. "Are you scared?"
"Yes," Erica replied. "I'm scared that I will not be able to burn you to a crisp with a single attack."
"You…"
"Darling, please start the match."
Thirteen, who had been called Darling a second time, raised his hand and declared the start of the battle.
"Battle Start!"
Char, who wished for more time to convince Erica, had no choice but to summon her Sword Whip and get into a fighting stance.
She needed to attack Erica while she was still on the ground. Char knew that the moment Erica managed to fly in the sky, it would be game over for her, so she went all out from the very start, gambling with her strongest attack for a chance of victory.
The image of the Giant Red Snake lunged at Erica with bestial fury.
Everyone expected that Erica would fly in the sky. To their surprise, the Sorceress remained on the ground, her staff pointing at the giant Red Snake headed in her direction.
"Infernal Oblivion," Erica said coldly.
A searing beam of light exploded from the tip of her staff and pierced through the giant Red Snake, dispersing it completely.
If Char and Erica fought a year ago before she learned the skill, Weaponization, Char might have had a chance of winning.
But now, it was impossible.
Erica's attack both had a magical and physical aspect to it, making it twice as strong and hit twice as hard.
The Sword Whip was simply no match for such a powerful attack, and it flew off of Char's hand the moment it collided with Erica's attack.
The young lady gritted her teeth and jumped to the side, evading Erica's attack that dispersed before hitting the barrier.
The Sorceress had full control over her powers, so she could disperse her attacks anytime she wanted.
Although she believed that the shield could withstand the force of her attack, she didn't take any chances because it might pierce through the barrier and hurt the audience.
"Fire Wall," Erica embedded the end of her staff onto the ground, summoning hellish flames that surrounded Char, leaving her with no place to go.
Knowing that resisting would be futile, Char was about to concede when flames erupted under her feet, trapping her into a blazing hell storm, making her scream in pain.
"Eternal Hell Storm," Erica's voice tinged with killing intent spread in the arena.
A few seconds later, Char reappeared in the safe zone with a pale expression on her face.
The safety mechanism of the arena had been activated, preventing anyone from dying.
"Winner, Erica!" Thirteen declared.
However, the audience was too stunned to process everything that had just happened.
Erica then flew toward Char and landed a meter away from her.
"Are you hurt?" Erica asked.
"No," Char replied. "I was ejected before any real damage took place."
Erica nodded before moving closer to whisper something in Char's ear.
"Don't play mind games with me," Erica whispered. "Zion is special to me, so the next time you try to put a wedge in our relationship, I'll burn you for real. Understood?"
"Are you jealous?" Char asked. "Are you afraid I will steal him from you?"
"If you think you can make Zion fall in love with you, you can try," Erica replied. "In fact, I will even approve of you if that happens. However, I'll give you a piece of advice. He's not dense, but he's not a normal teenager.
"Don't treat him like your countless admirers who will do anything for you. He's built differently."
Erica then pulled back and gave Char a wink before walking away.
The Sorceress used to be unconfident of her femininity and beauty because Roland didn't seem to fall for her charms. But that changed ever since she met Zion.
Now, she had a better grasp of herself and knew that she was an extremely desirable lady in the eyes of many people.
In fact, she had received several proposals a few days ago from the Monarch Clans, as well as the Prestigious Families, promising her benefits better than what she could have as Zion's fiancee.
But Erica wasn't interested in their proposals.
As for benefits?
She wasn't interested in them either.
Even if Roland were to propose to her right now, she was confident that she would be able to turn him down because she knew with every fiber of her being that Zion would treasure her more than Roland ever would.
Just as the Sorceress was about to exit the Colosseum, she blew a flying kiss to Zion, making sure that her public display of affection was seen by everyone.
'I think I'm becoming a bad influence,' Thirteen mused as he watched Erica disappear into the exit. 'She's starting to learn how to scheme. I hope Sherry doesn't take a page from her.'
Thirteen understood why Erica did the things that she did, making him smile faintly.
By showing everyone that the two of them were very affectionate with each other, most of the Families who wanted her to become their daughter-in-law would be deterred from pursuing her.
Of course, some of them wouldn't give up easily, but that was fine.
Just as much Erica trusted and believed in him, he trusted and believed her just as much.
Finally, he declared that the Final Match between Clark and Erica would be held two days from now, which would also put a close to a tournament that everyone from every corner of the world was paying close attention to.
