Chapter 784 I Will Always Believe In You
"Why did you suddenly ask to meet me in the middle of the night?" Thirteen asked Char, who was sitting on one of the benches in the park.
The teenage boy took a seat beside her and looked at the troubled young lady. "I need your help," Char replied. "I can't move my right hand."
She then raised her hand, hinting at the teenage boy to inspect it.
Thirteen didn't hesitate and held Char's hand with both of his hands. He then used both of his thumbs to press on the palm of her hand and started to move them in a circular motion.
"Do you feel anything?" Thirteen asked.
Char shook her head. "No."
Thirteen frowned and tried to press on the pressure points on Char's hand, but the young lady showed no reaction.
"Was this from Shasha's attack?" Thirteen asked with curiosity.
"Yes," Char answered. "And I can tell she still hasn't mastered that skill of hers. Once she does, she'll surely become a scary opponent for anyone."
Thirteen nodded before glancing in the direction of the lamp post in the distance.
There was a camera installed on it, which monitored everything that was happening in front of it. However, there was nothing to worry about as Athena had already hacked the security images of the park, preventing a scandal from happening.
This was a crucial time for Char, who would be fighting against Erica at the Colosseum once morning came.
If her meet-up with Zion was exposed, things might get blown out of proportion, and various rumors or even scandals would spread like wildfire, even more so if it wasn't properly handled.
"Let's go," Thirteen held the young lady's hand and took her into the tree area, minimizing the risk of them being discovered.
Char didn't resist because she was the one who asked the teenage boy for help.
She believed Zion had plenty of ways to heal her injury before the match the next day, which was why she decided to seek him out.
After verifying that there was no one in the surroundings, Thirteen activated the ring of the Apocalypse, making him and Char vanish from where they originally stood.
A few seconds later, they found themselves in the Order of the Apocalypse, particularly in the location that only Thirteen and his allies could access.
As soon as they appeared, Metatron materialized out of thin air and looked at Thirteen with an amused expression on his face.
"Ah, is this what they refer to as youth?" Metatron asked. "Well, feel free to use this room as you please. I will not be disturbing the two of you."
A blush appeared on Char's face after she understood what the God of Apocalypse was implying. It seemed that Metatron had misunderstood the situation.
"Stop teasing her, Metatron," Thirteen said. "Also, we came here to ask for your help. Her right hand is crippled. Can you heal her?"
"Oh?" Metatron arched an eyebrow before pointing his finger in the direction of Char's hand.
A moment later, the young lady felt that her sense of touch had returned to her hand.
"Thank you, Lord Metatron." Char bowed respectfully. "You're welcome," Metatron replied. "It is but a simple thing. But I felt a strange power. How did you receive that injury?"
"She fought with my sister," Thirteen answered.
The teenage boy then explained about the tournament currently being hosted in Pangea and the battle that Char and his sister, Shasha, had fought earlier during the day.
"Interesting." Metatron chuckled. "You humans sure know how to entertain yourselves. Well, then. Is that all that you came here to do?"
"Yes," Thirteen replied. "Thank you once again, Metatron."
The God of the Apocalypse nodded and disappeared without another word.
"Let's go back as well," Thirteen said.
Char nodded, and a second later, both of them reappeared in the park. "Thank you, Zion." Char bowed in gratitude. "No problem." Thirteen nodded. "After all, I need you to be in your best condition at all times. Make sure to rest as soon as you get home because you will be fighting Erica tomorrow."
Just as Thirteen was about to let go of her hand, Char gripped his hand, holding him in place.
"Out of curiosity, between me and Erica, who would you prefer to win?" Char asked purely out of curiosity.
"Do you want me to answer honestly?" Thirteen asked back.
Char nodded. "Yes." "Both you and I know that unless something happens to Erica before your match, you won't stand a chance against her," Thirteen stated. "While I'm leaning more for her to win because of her relationship with me, you winning against her is also good. "You and Clark are now my people, so either of you winning the Championship will not hinder my plan."
Char's gaze never left Zion's face, as if she was trying to see the slightest change in his expression.
But seeing that there was no change at all, Char sighed and finally let go of his hand.
"I understand." Char smiled. "See you tomorrow, Zion."
"See you tomorrow," Zion bid her goodbye before leaving the park.
The young lady watched his retreating back until he disappeared from her view.
Just like what Zion had said, she also didn't think she had a chance to win against Erica, even with her hand fully healed.
At most, she would only struggle in vain, and the thought of it made her sigh in her heart.
'But I still need to fight regardless of the result,' Char thought. 'I need to make sure that I don't bring down the prestige of the Lotte Family.'
When Thirteen returned to his residence, he saw Erica seated on the couch, waiting for him.
She was wearing a shawl over her nightgown, covering the places that she only allowed Zion to see. "Welcome back," Erica said with a smile.
"Mmm." Thirteen replied before giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Let's sleep."
"Okay." Erica nodded.
She didn't ask where he had gone or who he had met. The young lady simply wished to wait for him to make sure that he was fine.
When they arrived inside the room, Erica helped Zion take off his clothes before going to bed with him. Sherry was already in deep sleep, so she didn't stir when Zion and Erica entered the bed.
However, Zion hugged the sleeping beauty because it was her turn to be hugged tonight.
Erica hugged Thirteen from behind and was about to close her eyes to sleep when Zion's voice reached her ears.
"I met with Char," Thirteen said. "She injured her hand when she was fighting with Shasha, and she asked me to help her heal it before your match with her tomorrow."
"I see," Erica replied. "Is she fine now?"
"She is."
"Then that's good."
Erica hugged Thirteen and whispered in his ear.
"I will always believe in you," Erica whispered before kissing his cheek
"Thank you," Thirteen replied before kissing her back and closing his eyes to sleep.
The young lady hugged him and also went to sleep.
Earlier, she had smelled perfume on Thirteen's clothes, which made her assume that she had met with a lady.
However, Erica didn't feel any jealousy or anxiety. She was confident in Zion, knowing that he was no different from a block of brick who wouldn't react even if a lady stripped naked in front of him.
Still, hearing him explain made her heart feel more at ease because she could tell that he didn't want any misunderstandings to come between them.
However, just as she was truly about to fall asleep, a thought came to her mind.
'I'll burn her to a crisp tomorrow,' Erica thought. 'That way, she would not do anything stupid in the future.'
Although she didn't feel jealous, she had a feeling that Char might have designs for Zion in the future.
It was not only her but also the other families who held considerable power in Pangea, who wished to have some sort of connection with Zion.
The easiest method to form such bonds was through marriage alliances, which she believed would come flooding sooner or later.
This was also the reason why she decided to call dibs on him while she still had the chance, ensuring that no other ladies would snatch him when he was still single.
Char, who had also arrived back home, had purposely tried to get close to Zion because she knew that he and Erica slept together.
If the Sorceress smelled a perfume that belonged to another lady aside from her, it might cause her to feel jealous and cause a tear in her relationship with Zion.
Char was using everything in her power to gain as much advantage as possible for her match tomorrow.
However, she didn't know that the plan that she thought would backfire on her.
Not only did it strengthen Erica's relationship with Zion, but it also made the Sorceress very keen to burn her into a crisp.
Perhaps, if she knew that her opponent would fight her more brutally when morning came, Char might not have tried to sow discord between Zion and Erica, whose relationship was becoming stronger with each passing day.
