Chapter 506 : 505: Death of The Thunderborn Calamity
Chapter 506 : 505: Death of The Thunderborn Calamity
The storm stilled, and so did time.
The wind, molecules, waves of the sea of liquid lightning, and lightning bolts stopped along with the flow of time in Zal'Zerael's Imperium.
Even Pamela with all the abilities she had, and Zal'Zerael, the one who stopped time, were frozen.
Despite Pamela's immensely powerful presence and her ability to manipulate runes, she was not able to shatter or circumvent Zal'Zerael's control over time because of how weak and injured she was.
For a moment, the howling winds and roaring thunder fell silent, and an unnatural calm spread across the Imperium. Then, the sky began to change.
Pamela's expression changed as she felt the coldest chill spread across her spine along with the cries of warning and horror from the runes around her and in her.
Her instincts screamed at her, and her body, spirit, soul, and entire existence screamed at her as she gazed at the sky above with wide, but determined eyes.
Pamela knew that no matter what, she had to free herself from Zal'Zerael's control over time or she'd die. In fact, the runes were screaming to her that if she died to whatever this attack was, she would truly die and the Underworld would not be able to revive her.
Her infinity-marked silver eyes glowed brightly, and the infinity symbol in her silver eyes flowed like water as she used everything she had to manipulate the spatial and temporal runes around her.
With the time still frozen, the vortex of storm clouds that dominated Zal'Zerael's Imperium twisted and churned, and their movements became violent and erratic. The clouds darkened, becoming an unnatural shade of black so deep it seemed to devour the light.
No… It devoured the light in the fractured sky.
Tendrils of crimson lightning surged through the vortex, their arcs erratic and furious, like veins of raw power feeding into a single, horrifying focal point.
The storm clouds and the crimson lightning continued moving, and then they began rotating. At first, it started slow, but it then reached a speed that was so fast to the point that Pamela could not even follow.
Eventually, the crimson lightning bolts became darker until they started turning black.
As the crimson lightning bolts turned black, Pamela shattered Zal'Zerael's Time Stop over her, and then she was able to move.
Her hands tightened around her Destroyer, and her gaze was fixed on the dark sky above.
"What a monster… Even though time froze, you still found a way to move… But regardless of your abilities… you will perish before my wrath."
Zal'Zerael's voice resounded across the frozen time of its Imperium, and when Pamela heard it, she heard the weakness in its voice.
Pamela's eyes narrowed as she glanced at Zal'Zerael.
When she did, she was slightly surprised when she saw its condition. In the crevices, cracks, and networks of its body, a flash of glowing black lightning moved across its body, and with every movement of the black lightning, Pamela could sense Zal'Zerael's life fading away.
Pamela glanced at its glowing orb of eyes, and she also flashes of black lightning in its eyes.
Zal'Zerael stared into Pamela's silver eyes with an emotionless expression, and at first thought Pamela was going to say something, but Pamela just turned and faced the sky.
When she did, Zal'Zerael closed its eyes and then it roared at the vortex in the sky.
ROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!
The roar was one of pain, anger, and frustration. As its roar spread across its Imperium, Pamela staggered and had no choice but to move far away from Zal'Zerael.
A black light was released from its jaw, and it moved towards the sky.
When it did… The storm screamed, and a few moments later, Zal'Zerael went silent… It died.
The world went silent for a second, and then, from the heart of the vortex, an impossibly black lightning bolt began to take shape.
It was no ordinary lightning. This was the essence of destruction, the essence of a calamity, the essence of a Power.
The bolt pulsed with a malevolent energy, and its edges flickered with an unnatural sharpness as it grew larger and larger, until it dwarfed even Zal'Zerael itself.
Pamela's heart pounded as she felt the sheer weight of the energy bearing down on her. The runes whispered frantically in her ears, and for the first time in her life, Pamela was getting pissed off at their cacophony of warnings and desperate pleas.
She could see what was in front of her. She doesn't need them to warn her.
She knew.
She knew this bolt would tear through every barrier, every defense, and every ounce of her being. It was not just a weapon, it was annihilation incarnate, and if it struck her, there would be nothing left of her.
She would die a true death… She was certain of it.
"Damn it," Pamela muttered with gritted teeth as blood dripped from her lips.
Despite the sight of the annihilation lightning above her, she didn't hesitate.
She gripped her spear tightly, and the runes on her body flared with a brilliance that defied the encroaching darkness. Her silver eyes burned with resolve as she raised her weapon with both hands, and the runes along its blade glowed brighter and brighter.
She ignored the unimaginable pain she was feeling in her right hand, and with gritted teeth and sweat pouring down her face, she gripped her weapon tightly.
Without saying a word… she roared. Her roar was primal and it echoed across the crumbling Imperium.
The runes around her body pulsed in rhythm with her heart, and every single energy in it and the runes themselves surged into her spear, causing her spear to be completely filled with runes.
Her strength spiked once again as she prepared to unleash everything she had, but this time around, she knew what the consequences of her actions would be.
"Valecrest Spear Art: Celestial Rend!"
Her Destroyer blazed with a radiant light as she infused it with everything she had, the energy was so immense that cracks began to form along her arms and shoulders. Blood dripped from her skin, but she didn't stop… She couldn't stop.
"Arcane Art: Heaven's Judgement!"
The air around Pamela ignited as her mana surged to its peak, and then the mana vanished. A golden flame engulfed her Destroyer and her infinity-marked silver eyes. The flames flowed across her destroyed arms and Destroyer like water.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"
She reared back while releasing a scream of immense pain as tears of blood poured down her eyes, and her muscles strained as she prepared to throw her Destroyer.
She released a scream and a roar at the same time, and then… she threw her spear.
The instant she did, almost as if the annihilation lightning above had been waiting for her, the bolt descended.
It was as though the heavens themselves had split apart. The black lightning tore through the air with a sound so loud that it could be heard across the entire shattered dimension, almost as if the world was ending.
It was a deafening roar that carried the weight of absolute destruction.
Meanwhile, the weapon tore through the air like a comet, its radiant energy cutting a path through the storm as it surged toward the bolt. The runes along its blade glowed brighter with each passing second, their light defying the oppressive darkness of the annihilation lightning.
Then… the two forces collided.
