Chapter 772 Heavenly Court Room
Chapter 772 Heavenly Court Room
In the Heavenly Palace, Michael had gathered all of the angels who he had wrapped around his fingers. He was asking them to raise their voices against the unfair treatment of the almighty.
And by now, he had convinced a lot of them into thinking that God needed to be kept in check as well.
"He says that we cannot directly interfere with the lives of humans. But look at him now! He is not only interfering with their lives but he is also playing with time, the most sacred thing in this universe."
He was shouting at the top of his lungs as though he just hadn't interfered with the humans just a while ago.
And before any of the angels could raise their voices, he clarified himself, "I was trying to show how unfair he is. He does as he wants while we are subjected to punishment if we do the same."
He was trying to convince everyone that his behavior tonight wasn't the result of his whim of jealousy.
Suddenly, the whole courtroom was filled with blinding light. Everyone instantly knew who had arrived there.
Michael tried to stand tall and show everyone that he wasn't afraid of his father. But deep down, he was scared that his father would do something in an instant before his lackeys even got the chance to back him up.
"Father," he looked God straight in the eyes and gave a proud look.
God gave a mirthless smile and said while matching his son's energy, "Michael."
Hundreds of angels who were present in the courtroom knelt down to show respect to the almighty, their creator.
God gestured all of them to rise on their feet. And he continued speaking with Michael. "You look really proud of what you've done today. Should I clap for your great achievement?" He even clapped a couple of times and asked, "So, tell me, Michael. How does it feel to attack your own blood? Did you feel good?
Satisfied perhaps?"
Michael dared to glare back at his father and replied, "I felt satisfied knowing that even though you gave all the power in the world to that girl, perhaps hoping to make her a great ruler one day, she couldn't even protect herself. It's not my fault that she couldn't evade a simple spear. How can someone as weak as her be worthy of what is rightfully mine?"
"How do you know what I want her to be? Did you hear it from me?" God asked in an unbothered manner.
Michael scoffed and then blatantly replied, "Everyone knows what you want her to be, father. Please don't try to get me on technicalities. If anyone is at fault here then it's you. You shouldn't have meddled too much when you yourself are against it. And her inability to defend herself tonight proves that even you cannot make the right predictions. Even you can make mistakes."
Michael then darted his eyes around at all the terrified angels and said, "We demand that you do not use your powers haphazardly. You cannot simply go and bless someone with a child and make her your pet project just because you have some problem with me."
A few of the angels dared to raise their voices.
"Yes, you cannot break your own rules!"
"You do not have the right to kick us out of Heaven for the smallest disagreement with you."
"We agree that you are the creator of the universe and also the creator of the Earth. But you cannot play with time whenever you feel like it."
"You should also be bound by your own rules. No one is above them. Not even you, almighty."
God looked around the court at everyone's faces.
Even though he looked calm on the outside, everyone lowered their heads when God's gaze fell on them, especially the ones who just raised their voices.
God then looked at Michael, who was acting like he was the creator, with a cold piercing glare. And he targeted his words at all the angels who had spoken in support of Michael, "It looks like you all have forgotten your place, dear ones."
He scoffed and asked, "You all want to bind me with my own rules? First of all, what rule? You all are saying that I, the creator, cannot create? That I have to take all of your permissions, my own creation's permission, to create someone who would benefit us all?"
God paused for a while and waited to see if anyone would dare to speak now.
And someone did dare. It was his own son.
"Father, you might have been the creator at the beginning of time. But now, everything has already set on its path. It doesn't need intervention from you anymore."
"Sure." God smiled at his son and said in a tone of mockery, "Why would the universe need my intervention when the decisions I take don't favor you any more?"
He then suddenly glared at everyone present in the court. The clear sky with a few white clouds here and there abruptly turned dark and eerie.
And the almighty roared at everyone, "I can create a new universe with a snap of my fingers. Do you think I would be threatened by your little parade? I can replace all of you quicker than any of you can spread out your wings. Do you still think that you all can tie my hands by putting up this nonsensical protest? Do you think that you all can get away with this?"
Almost all the angels present there fell down on their knees and pleaded for mercy. They all knew that he wasn't giving empty threats. If he wanted, he really could turn all of them into a pile of dirt or send them to the Hell realm for eternal damnation.
Michael was angered by this betrayal from his trusted minions. "What are you all doing? If we all don't raise our voices now, then we will never be truly free. All of us will be his puppet for eternity. And the moment you try to loosen the strings, he will cut the string altogether! Do you all wish to be used and discarded like how I am going to be right now?"
His speech of 'motivation', however, was less powerful than the threats from the almighty.
And all of the remaining angels who were still standing also fell down on their knees and began to cry and beg for mercy. They were pleading to get spared for the crime of supporting the mad Prince.
After making sure that Michael was humiliated by his own trusted pupils, God prepared to drop another thunderbolt on him, "Michael, when your mother asked me to make amends with you, I was honestly considering it. But you single-handedly ruined your chance by attacking an innocent child with the intention to kill."
God pointed his palms at Michael and roared alongside the thunderstorm that had now formed in the sky, "I hereby release Michael, the second born of me and Asherah, of his duties as the Chief Prince of the Heaven realm."
The courtroom was now filled with exclaims and confused noises from all the angels.
Michael was the one who was in the greatest shock. Even after pulling off the stunt on the Earth realm, he had never thought that he would actually be punished.
"Wait! You cannot punish me!" He shouted and tried to stop God from officiating his removal from his position.
But he could feel all the privileges and powers that came along with his position as the Chief Prince being sucked away by his father. And all he could do was scream in mental as well as physical agony.
