She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 755 Displeasure

Chapter 755 Displeasure

"Mother…" Michael stepped down from his throne and then walked towards the end of the aisle. He gave a bright smile as though he had done nothing wrong and then asked the Goddess, "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Michael sarcastically opened his arms to hug his mother. The Goddess saw right through his façade and folded her arms.

"You don't have to pretend as if you didn't just come back after stalking Ariel for days, Michael." She gave Michael a glare and came right to the point, "Why have you become like this? Why are you after that child? Don't you feel ashamed of yourself for thinking that a child like her can be a threat to you?"

Michael's demeanor instantly changed when his mother didn't even spare a second and instantly started to reprimand him.

He asked his mother with an expressionless face, "And what about you, mother? Don't you and father feel ashamed for always taking sides when the two of you ought to be impartial? Why do the two of you keep on breaking your own rules and keep on messing with the lives of the others?"

"I wouldn't need to do that if you weren't so blinded by your throne. You are so attached to the power that you won't back off from doing anything and everything to keep it." The Goddess also spoke her mind out.

"And I wouldn't need to constantly fight for what is already mine if father wasn't so generous to Theodore's daughter." Michael also spilled everything that he had cooped up inside his heart. "Why am I being discarded like this? Is he done playing with me now that he has a new doll?"

The Goddess was tired of this drama between her husband and her son. "If you have any grievances with your father then you know that you can go and talk to him at any time, right?"

"He's the one who has a problem with me even when I am fulfilling all of my duties. Can't he summon me and say what am I doing wrong so that I can make it right? Why should I go to him when he is already planning to discard me like a used napkin?" Michael looked hurt as well as angry when he said that.

The Goddess closed her eyes and heaved a sigh. And she spoke while trying not to lose her calm, "You've become just like your father. Why are the two of you so full of yourselves? Can't one of you put your ego aside and talk with each other? I'm tired of being dragged back and forth by the two of you."

Michael looked his mother in the eyes and replied, "Then don't get dragged, mother. You don't have to try to make things right all the time. Just leave them be. Leave me be. And please, try to limit your activities on the Earth realm if you don't want all of your children to go against you."

The Goddess scoffed in disbelief. "Did you just threaten me?" Find exclusive stories on empire

"You can think what you want," Michael replied very nonchalantly. "But I am not going to stay silent and keep on enduring this unjustness from the two of you. If I have to bring Hell on Heaven to keep my foothold on the things I have worked for, then I am ready to do that in a heartbeat."

The Goddess clenched her teeth upon hearing that shameless reply. And she mumbled in her anger, "Why don't you simply exchange your throne with Lucifer then? You can have the throne that you can keep till eternity without a doubt."

Michael felt a pinch in his heart after his mother made him sound worse than the Devil King. "Even after all these years, you still think that he is better than me? He is a fallen angel, for heaven's sake! He fell down because he didn't deserve to live in this paradise!"

The Goddess gave a subtle satire to Michael, "At least he won't go around gathering information and spying on his own niece. And he would definitely not feel inferior to a kid just because she has extra abilities that she can control."

"Nobody's feeling inferior," Michael rolled his eyes and turned around to walk away from his mother.

But the Goddess appeared in front of him and asked him, "Have you ever stopped and thought for a second that not everyone wants the same thing as you?"

The Goddess wanted to make Michael aware of what Ariel wanted to do in the future so that he wouldn't constantly feel insecure just by her presence in this vast universe.

"Who doesn't want power?" Michael couldn't even imagine Ariel discarding the favoritism and privilege that she was offered by the almighty.

"Michael, Ariel wants to be more like a free bird. She isn't someone who would become a puppet to your father. So please, leave her alone. Stop worrying because of her." The Goddess gently caressed her son's cheek and softly said, "Instead, why don't you focus on your duties? Show your father that you are capable."

"Haven't I been doing that for all these years?" Michael grabbed his mother's hand and pushed it away. "Now I don't have the strength nor patience to keep on doing that anymore. I'm going against him head-on if he tries to mess with me. He better not think of me as someone weak just because I am silently enduring everything that he throws at me."

The Goddess looked dejected. She already knew that she wouldn't be able to get through to Michael just by talking to him, or by scolding him. But she tried anyway. And needless to say, she was disappointed.

And what disappointed her even more was what he said to her before walking away.

"I'll wait and see how long you can keep on protecting your precious granddaughter."

The Goddess shook her head in displeasure and thought to herself, "If only he could acknowledge Michael, half of the problems would get solve on their own."

And she went home to find her husband and hopefully, talk some sense into him.
