Chapter 190 Dimension Step
Chapter 190 Dimension Step
[Don't forget the terms. You'll do as you're told, or you'll stay trapped in that jar for all eternity. Don't test us.]
The Ghost's eyes flared for a moment, but with a shake of her head, she sighed and said, [You and your brothers are always so bold. Do you think the Yin-Yang Hell Prison Jar can keep me imprisoned forever? One day, I will escape, and when I do, your Souls will belong to me.]
[Yeah, yeah, we've heard the same thing before. What does this mark… the twenty-fourth or is it the twenty-fifth time we summoned you?] San mocked after realizing the Ghost was still imprisoned. Otherwise, he would not have dared to mock her.
[Enough.] Ichi interrupted. [We need Dimension Step for this mission. Sir James ordered us to sabotage an Alchemy Chef's food. Without your Skill we might be discovered, or accidentally leave evidence behind, which we can't allow against someone like Sir James.]
Hearing this, the Ghost's expression slightly soured. She wanted nothing more than to say no. She did not want to use her Skill to help them commit evil, but just as she had that rebellious thought, she felt the Yin-Yang Hell Prison Jar's power increasing, forcing her to say:
[Dimension Step… very well. But remember, each time you use my Skill, the Yin-Yang Hell Prison Jar's power weakens. One day, once its Runic Symbols shatter, I will no longer be your servant.]
After saying so, the Ghost extended her hand toward them. Immediately, three glowing orbs of light shot toward them and entered their foreheads.
Moments later, the Ghoul Brothers' physical bodies began fading in and out of existence before they vanished.
However, the truth was different. The Ghoul Brothers were still there, but their bodies were in a separate Dimension connected to Arcadia. A reality where they could see everything that happened on Arcadia and even interact with it, yet those on Arcadia could not see them.
It was a peculiar Skill that only belonged to Ghosts, and with it, the Ghoul Brothers were almost invincible.
But like any powerful Skill, the Dimensional Step had a server limitation. While they existed in this alternate Dimension, they could not interact with the real world. Not unless they stepped back into reality. But doing so would leave them vulnerable.
Even so, after storing the Yin-Yang Hell Prison Jar in his Spatial Ring, Ichi motioned for his two brothers to follow him.
In no time, they appeared behind Duan's Restaurant.
[Let's go.] Ichi phased through the restaurant's wall while speaking.
Ni and San glanced at each other, and after a nod, they followed their elder brother into the restaurant.
Once inside, they could not help but swallow hard as a rush of rich fragrance assaulted their nostrils.
Unconsciously following the smell with their noses, their eyes landed on a large pot, containing what looked to be over a hundred eggs.
[Damn. This is what the Siren's Melody Poached Eggs smell like? Elder brother, how about we take a few to go?] San asked hungrily, as he stared at the eggs in the large pot.
Even Ni was tempted, as he looked at his elder brother with a small amount of hope.
However, Ichi, after swallowing his saliva, forced his eyes away from the eggs, and quickly shot his brothers a glare, [Focus. We're here for one reason. To sabotage those eggs. Lucian and Sir James can't win. No. If we fail, we'll have more to worry about than a disgraced chef.]
Hearing this, Ni nodded obediently, while San sighed. After seeing Ichi's dazed and hungry expression, they had initially expected his reaction to be different this time, but it seemed they were wrong.
At the same time, the System who was guiding Duan Mu's Time Element to slowly enter each egg, let out a low chuckle inwardly.
'Three Bone Tempering Realm Mages. What are they doing here? And that Skill… Dimensional Step. But why are they able to use it? They are merely Ghouls… hmmm. It must have been their Master who gave them permission.
Unfortunately, for them, they ran into one of the few entities that can sense and see into their alternate Dimension.'
However, the System did not inform its Host nor did it take immediate action to remove the obvious threat.
Unhurriedly, the System split its attention between guiding Duan Mu's Time Element into the Siren's Melody Eggs and enveloping the three Ghouls with its Soul Power.
For now, the System would allow them to continue, but not out of kindness or mercy. It wanted to know what they were up to.
[How long do we wait? We can't wait forever.] San muttered.
Ichi nodded. [Ni, take out what Master gave us.]
Ni nodded lightly and pulled out a small vial. Inside it was a single black drop of liquid — Voidtear Essence. It was a rare and dangerous poison that could destabilize even the most complex Alchemical creations. A single drop was all it took to taint the Mana flowing through the dish. The best part was that it was undetectable and odorless.

It was perfect for their mission.
The System chuckled when it saw the vial of Voidtear Essence.
[Now it makes sense. They are here to ruin my Host's food. Unfortunately, I won't allow that to happen.]
But then the System remembered its predicament.
[But how should I deal with them? If I ask Mistress, she would want me to torture them until their lifespans run out. But… even after fusing with the Celestium Shard, I am too weak to deal with one Bone Tempering Realm Mage let alone there are three of them.]
The System understood it should inform its Host regarding the three Ghouls, but it also knew that it would be useless. Its Host was too weak, weaker than even itself. Therefore, it was best if he stayed oblivious to their appearance.
Ignorance was bliss.
Moreover, if Lucian had a change in expression, though that was unlikely, and it was spotted by the three Ghouls, they might throw caution to the wind and attack.
