Chapter 388: Chapter 381 Uncle Gu
If this deed was a good one, then she certainly did right by it, not only saving people’s lives, but also helping her own father.
She was somewhat sluggish and fuzzy as she returned to her hospital room, and just as she stepped in, she heard Ting Yuan’s excited chatter.
“Lele, you know what? We got on TV and in the newspapers! My mom saw me and said I looked so good! Even the village and town leaders have visited my house and brought us loads of stuff! Now they all call me a hero, and they say they will award me the ‘March 8th Red Banner Bearer’! I’ve become famous.”
“What should I do?” She held her face again, “Should I style my hair? That way, I’ll look stylish when I return, right?”
“Maybe not,” Lin Yile was always honest, “Your face is too big, if you style your hair, I think it wouldn’t look like a face but rather resemble a winter gourd.”
“You’re so annoying,” Ting Yuan dashed towards him and the two began wrestling. Their friendship seemed quite pure at this moment.
Tang Yuxin was still sleeping. She was either studying or sleeping, it was pretty quiet.
Song Qingtong quickly grabbed the two by their collars and pointed at Tang Yuxin, “She’s asleep, don’t wake her. She’s more tired than any of us.”
Speaking of heroes, the true hero was her.
She was the one who suggested the charity work. She was the one who saved so many people. Without her, how many could they save with their meager abilities? They probably wouldn’t even be able to handle minor injuries.
Overwhelmed, both Ting Yuan and Lin Yile quickly covered their mouths, no longer daring to shout or scream.
Tang Yuxin was truly tired, extremely tired. Even the loudest noises wouldn’t wake her up now.
By the time she woke up, it was already night.
She rubbed her eyes, feeling that something seemed to be pressing down on her. Could it be sleep paralysis?
She opened her eyes and looked down, only to be met with a pair of round, innocent eyes.
Oh, she must still be dreaming. She closed her eyes to keep sleeping, but in the next moment, a small hand found its way onto her face, patting her lightly.
“Sis, Sis…”
That sweet baby voice was unmistakably her little brother’s.
Tang Yuxin opened her eyes and saw those shiny round eyes again. The moment he noticed her wakefulness, his eyes curved into beautiful crescents, looking enchanting and adorable.
Tang Yuxin reached out her hand and took hold of his chubby little hand.
She blinked, then quickly sat up.
“Chengcheng, how did you get here?”
Little Chengcheng kicked off his small shoes and began to crawl like a small tortoise. Tang Yuxin reached out and lifted him up.
“Sis…” Chengcheng happily rammed his head into his sister’s shoulder. He sure loved his sister.
“Who did you come with?” Tang Yuxin held her brother close, afraid he might fall off.
“Daddy, and godfather.” Chengcheng bit his little finger, then clutched his sister’s clothes.
“Sis, Chengcheng is hungry.”
Little Fatty touched his belly, looking both cute and pitiful.
“Let’s go, Sis will take you to have a meal,” Tang Yuxin dressed, put on her shoes, and then took her brother by the hand. She wished to carry him, but he was just too chubby for her to handle.
Just as they stepped out, they ran into Gu Ning and Shen Fei, who had just arrived at the hospital.
“Uncles,” Chengcheng pointed at them, let go of his sister’s hand, and ran over.
“Hello, Uncles.”
This little guy was truly sweet. He was so rosy, chubby, and cuddly that no one could resist liking him.
Gu Ning crouched down and tousled the little guy’s hair.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Uh huh, I know,” Chengcheng nodded vigorously, “Chengcheng saw Uncle on TV. Uncle is amazing!” He clenched his little fist, looking quite determined.
“This little guy is so cute,” Shen Fei extended a finger to poke Chengcheng’s chubby belly.
And just like that, Chengcheng burst out in laughter.
“So soft,” Shen Fei couldn’t help himself and poked him again.
Tang Yuxin was worried about her brother’s belly. He was her brother, not a toy!
She went over and put her hand on her brother’s head, “Hello, Brother Shen Fei, Gu…” She turned to look at Gu Ning, “Mr. Gu…”
When it came to addressing him, Tang Yuxin was really at a loss.
“You can address me without formality,” He stood there, still putting on the pressure.
“Alright,” taking his cue, Tang Yuxin corrected herself.
“Gu…Uncle.”
A burst of laughter erupted from Shen Fei, he almost choked on his own saliva.
Certainly calling him ‘uncle’ was not incorrect. Gu Ning was now 26, while Tang Yuxin had just turned 20. With this gap of almost six years, calling him ‘uncle’ was permissible.
“Who’s this child?” Shen Fei patted the little guy’s belly again, “He’s so adorable!”
“My brother,” Tang Yuxin gently stroked Chengcheng’s hair. Chengcheng joyfully stood next to his sister. No one could deny, the two of them really shared a resemblance, both had fair skin and a pair of beautiful, big eyes.
“Your brother?” Shen Fei almost choked on his own saliva again, “You have such a young brother?”
Just how much age difference was there between these two siblings? If it was in the olden days, she could claim him to be her son, and people would believe it. But a brother? Unlikely.
“Yes, he’s my brother. He’s eighteen years younger than me.”
Chengcheng wrapped his small arms around his sister’s arm, swinging back and forth as if he were on a swing.
“Sis, I’m hungry,” he pouted, “want food.”
At that moment, a large hand reached out to pick up his chubby little body. This might have been the highest and farthest Chengcheng had ever been, so he smiled, his large eyes curving into two beautiful crescents.
“Let’s go together for a meal.”
Gu Ning carried Little Fatty effortlessly with one hand.
“No need, I can take him.”
“It’s fine, no need to refuse,” Shen Fei reached out again and poked Little Fatty’s belly, “We really don’t know how to express our gratitude towards you. How about we simply have a meal together, with Little Fatty?”
“Hmm,” Chengcheng nodded his little head, but did he really understand?
Gu Ning held Little Fatty in the car. Tang Yuxin still felt it wasn’t right. Why on earth were they eating out? Wasn’t there a cafeteria in the hospital? Why the need to ride in a car?
