Chapter 550: Chapter 494: The Third Layer of the Abyss_2

Xu Mu was anxious. He didn’t know what caused this suction, nor whether he could withstand its assault. He began to question whether he should go on, but there was no way back.

Just as Xu Mu was about to give up, a powerful light suddenly radiated from deep within the cave. The brightness illuminated the entire cave in an instance, almost blinding Xu Mu.

Following that, an immense force emerged from the light, lifting Xu Mu’s body instantly. He felt as though his body was growing heavier, as if both his body and soul were about to be crushed.

The light and the force vanished in an instant, and Xu Mu found himself back on the ground. His body felt completely drained, but his soul felt nourished, filled with newfound strength and vigor.

Xu Mu realized he had passed this round of tests.

The cave wasn’t perilous at all, instead, it was a place of opportunity. Its suction and light were there to test his will and capacity. Only those who passed the test can seize the opportunity here.

Xu Mu rejoiced silently about holding onto the chance and his heart was brimming with anticipation and confidence for future exploration.

He understood that the Abyss Secret Realm harbored more opportunities and treasures. As long as he tread carefully, he would surely gain more.

During his exploration in the Abyss Secret Realm, Xu Mu encountered a female disciple from another sect, named Qin Yun. She was dressed in a green robe, possessing an unforgettably compelling and elegant aura.

When Xu Mu met Qin Yun she was in dire straits. He hastened to assess the situation. However, Qin Yun eyed him warily, seemingly disinclined to trust him.

“Who are you? What are you doing here?” Qin Yun asked coldly.

Xu Mu chuckled inwardly, realizing the misunderstanding. He wasn’t offended and patiently clarified, “I am Xu Mu, a cultivator too. I am here to look for opportunities and treasures.”

Qin Yun didn’t lower her guard, she asked skeptically, “What are you doing here? Are you here for that legend?”

Xu Mu was bewildered, he didn’t know about any legend, so he asked, “What legend?”

Seeing Xu Mu was oblivious to the legend, Qin Yun explained, “It’s rumored that there’s a mystical treasure hidden in this secret realm, which can grant the beholder immense power and mastery.”

Xu Mu’s heart fluttered, he too had heard of this legend but didn’t pay it much heed. His main purpose to come here was for experience and to seek out some treasures and opportunities.

Seeing that Xu Mu wasn’t here for the legend, Qin Yun’s attitude improved marginally. However, she remained wary, not wholly trusting him.

Xu Mu understood Qin Yun’s hesitation. He didn’t force her to trust him. He decided to prove through his actions that he was not an enemy, but a trustworthy friend.

In the ensuing exploration, Xu Mu and Qin Yun journeyed together, confronting dangers and challenges side by side. Helping each other, they forged a bond of trust and friendship amidst overcoming numerous obstacles.

Through their interactions, Xu Mu found out about Qin Yun’s background and purpose. She was a disciple from another sect and was here to retrieve her sect’s lost relic, which was one of the legendary mystical treasures.

Though their objectives differed, they had common goals and threats. During their exploration, they found some clues and information about the magical treasure, reconfirming the existence of the legendary treasure.

Xu Mu and Qin Yun held hands tightly, staring into the dark depths of the Formation, searching for a hint of an exit.

“Qin Yun, are you alright?” Xu Mu asked quietly, his gaze full of worry.

Qin Yun nodded slightly. Even though her body was trembling, she gave a resolute response, “I’m fine, Xu Mu. Let’s keep pushing.”

Hearing Qin Yun’s response, a warmth spread through Xu Mu’s heart. He knew that at that moment, their mutual trust and support were the most important things.

The energy fluctuations in the Formation grew more intense. Mysterious runes lit up around them, seemingly mocking their helplessness.

“Xu Mu, I’m a little scared,” Qin Yun confessed quietly, the tremor apparent in her voice.

“Don’t be afraid, Qin Yun. I’m here. We’ll face it together,” Xu Mu comforted her softly while psyching himself up. He knew he had to be strong at that moment and provide solace to Qin Yun.

The energy in the Formation exploded, and a powerful force converged on them. Xu Mu felt as if his Mana would be drained completely, and his body endured pain as if it was being torn apart. But he didn’t give up. He knew only perseverance could possibly enable them to escape the crisis.

“Xu Mu, I can feel your power. Let’s give it our best!” Qin Yun tightened her grip on Xu Mu’s hand, her eyes gleaming with determination.

Heartened by Qin Yun’s response, Xu Mu was filled with courage. He knew they could only overcome this hurdle by supporting each other. Thus, he took a deep breath, revitalized his spirits, and prepared for the ensuing challenges.
