Chapter 549: Chapter 494: The Third Layer of the Abyss_1
The Abyss Secret Realm has several layers, and Xu Mu didn’t linger in the first one. His body turned into an Escape Light, quickly passing through the second and third layers, reaching the third layer where only those in the late stage of Divinity Transformation dared to come.
Xu Mu activated his Body of the Apocalypse, constantly keeping himself alert.
Although his cultivation had reached the late stage of Divinity Transformation, his strength was dozens of times stronger than that of an ordinary Divinity Transformation peak, yet he still dared not be careless in this abyss.
“Better safe than sorry, I heard there are some peculiar demons here. Even a disciple in the Refining Void phase could be seriously injured if attacked. I am just in the late stage of Divinity Transformation, even with the Body of the Apocalypse, I can’t hold on!”
Xu Mu reminded himself silently in his heart.
There was a cold wind in the abyss, filled with wandering ghosts and not a single living thing in sight, let alone a hint of vitality, everything was decayed.
Just as Xu Mu carefully flew forward, a shout suddenly came from behind.
“Fellow Daoist, please stop!”
Hearing the shout from behind, Xu Mu tensed up and immediately turned to look.
He saw several young people in Taoist Robes of various colors standing behind him, their aura solemn, clearly none were ordinary.
After a brief pondering, Xu Mu was able to determine that these people were all at the middle phase of Divinity Transformation, and one female Daoist had even reached the peak of Divinity Transformation.
He was inwardly alert, but on the surface, he remained calm, opening his mouth to ask, “What can I do for you, fellow Daoists?”
A young man in a blue Taoist robe stepped forward, bowing his fist, “We encountered difficulties in the Secret Realm. Seeing that you moved freely, you must be highly cultivated, we hope you would lend us a hand.”
Xu Mu was silent, he did not know these people, and he didn’t sense any goodwill from them either.
The young man in the blue robe seemed to understand Xu Mu’s hesitation and immediately said, “We are disciples from other sects in the Spirit Realm, if you are willing to help, we certainly will not let you down.”
Xu Mu’s heart moved, but his face remained indifferent, saying, “In that case, let’s go together.”
Behind Xu Mu, those disciples from other sects of the Spirit Realm were filled with resentment. They had originally come with a plot, planning to use Xu Mu as bait to lure out the powerful demons in the abyss and then join forces to kill them. However, Xu Mu’s alertness thwarted their original plan, and he easily saved them from their predicament.
“How dare this damned fellow solve our crisis so easily?” a man in a yellow Taoist robe said through gritted teeth.
“He must have used some Secret Technique, otherwise why would he be so powerful?” a man with a Longsword had a gloomy expression on his face.
“We can’t let this fellow leave here alive, or our plan will be ruined.” A haggard-looking man’s eyes flashed with a ruthless color.
“Yes, we need to figure out a way to get rid of him.” The others echoed.
They began to quietly approach Xu Mu, their eyes flashing with resentment. However, Xu Mu seemed to be oblivious to their malice, walking on alone.
When they were close enough to Xu Mu, they suddenly launched an attack on him simultaneously. Each of them had different methods, some using skills, some using Spiritual Artifacts, and others simply swinging their fists.
However, Xu Mu seemed to have anticipated it and instantly activated a Divine Skill, turning into an Escape Light and dodging their attacks. Then, he counterattacked with a sword, and a powerful Sword Qi instantly split one man in half. The others’ attacks came right after but were all easily neutralized by Xu Mu.
“You are seeking death.” Xu Mu coldly looked at the remaining people, his eyes flashing with killing intent. He didn’t use his Body of Apocalypse, because he didn’t want to reveal his cards here.
The remaining few were shaking all over from Xu Mu’s gaze, realizing they had kicked the iron plate. They wanted to retreat, but it was already too late. Xu Mu launched an attack instantly, defeating them with lightning speed.
“Did you think you could betray me easily? I will make you pay the price.” Xu Mu said coldly. He picked up a stone and sealed their souls within, then turned and left. He knew these people wouldn’t be able to escape anytime soon, and he also needed to find the exit as soon as possible.
After Xu Mu left, he continued to explore the Abyss Secret Realm. He found a hidden cave, the interior of which was pitch black and the end was not visible. Xu Mu circulated his mana, sensing a faint flow of Spiritual Energy within the cave, which made him even more curious.
He slowly walked into the cave, being alert to any danger that might occur. When he got deeper into the cave, he suddenly felt a chill, as if something was staring at him.
Xu Mu was startled and immediately prepared for battle. He steadied his mind and breath, ready to face the coming attack. However, the expected attack didn’t come; instead, a strong suction force came from ahead.
Xu Mu instantly understood that this suction was targeting his treasures and spiritual artifacts. He immediately stored them in his body and then circulated his mana, trying to resist the suction.
However, the suction grew stronger and stronger, making Xu Mu feel like his mana was being drained. He felt his body gradually becoming light, as if he was about to be sucked away.
