Chapter 651 Have fun
Chapter 651 Have fun
"I feel left out, but I also feel relieved by not being a test subject," Seara frowned.
"Why would we be perfect test subjects?" Jori asked.
"Because you fight at close range," Rain explained. "Anyway, we don't have time to waste. Let's go."
Rain didn't hear about signs of ice dragons since they arrived in the port town, so they couldn't wait longer… although it was already noon, it was still snowing and it didn't look like the temperature would increase that much that day. So, he took Seara,Jori, and Reca go to an ice platform to look for the dragons.
Rain's friends had witnessed his remarkable abilities over the years, including his control over the weather to some extent. So, they couldn't help but wonder why he couldn't simply disperse the snow clouds and bring back the clear skies. They suggested that he give it a try, but Rain shook his head and explained why.
While he did possess the capability to manipulate the weather, the presence of the dragons was complicating matters. He clarified that the ice dragons were actively feeding the snow clouds with their own mana, reinforcing the wintry weather.
Attempting to dispel the clouds in such circumstances would indeed be a futile endeavor, as the dragons' power was sustaining and strengthening the unnatural storm.
The group kept moving around the areas where the dragons had been spotted and when they didn't find any of them, Rain increased the range of the search. At the same time, he used Magic Eyes to find traces of their mana and that made things really easier.
He found the most recent traces of mana and then immediately tried to chase it… it didn't take long for the group to find an ice dragon flying in circles.
As the ice dragon flew over the ocean, its massive form casting a menacing silhouette against the ocean, it performed a chilling spectacle. Trailing behind the dragon, a mesmerizing dust-like substance composed of tiny ice particles fell gracefully from its form.
The dragon's presence seemed to infuse the very air with an unnatural coldness, and as the glowing ice dust descended, it made contact with the ocean's surface. The moment the particles touched the water, an instant transformation occurred. The ocean, turbulent and restless, surrendered to the dragon's power. The contact with the glowing ice particles caused the water to freeze in an instant.
This mesmerizing but perilous display was a testament to the ice dragon's mastery over elemental forces, as it continued to create an ever-expanding, frozen landscape across the ocean.
"You two are going to fight that, have fun," Rain said.

"Are our backs going to survive this?" Jori asked.
"As long as you don't take any hits, I would say so," Rain said and then made the ice platform under their feet brake.
Before they could reach the ocean, Jori and Reca saw a thin ice wall appearing below them and then used Impulse on it while they moved to an iceberg. In the next moment before they could land there, another ice wall appeared and they immediately understood what Rain wanted them to do.
"So, you are going to support them like that?" Seara asked.
"They need to get experience fighting dragons without my strong support and this is our best chance," Rain explained.
"Come to think of it, while I wanted to come, there isn't much that I can do against ice dragons, right?" Seara asked. "While I can use ice magic, it isn't on the same level as yours."
"It doesn't have to be, you can do the same thing as me by supporting them," Rain said. "I will be counting on you in case another dragon shows up and I have to fight it before their battle ends."
Only Rain would think that such a crazy plan was feasible… he was planning to create ice platforms for his friends on the fly. One had to be very confident in their skills to do that when a single mistake could cost the lives of their friends.
While Seara was wondering how she could do the same, the dragon finally realized the approach of Jori and Reca and the creature stopped freezing the ocean with it's glowing ice dust and then began to fly toward them.
"The mana density is so high thanks to their spell that they didn't even notice them until they were five hundred meters away," Rain said while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I can use this "
"We can use this," Seara corrected.
"I would feel better if you didn't try to be stealthy like I am, it would be bad for my heart," Rain said and then the start of the battle arrived.
The ice dragon bombarded Jori and Reca with giant ice spears, but they split up and went to opposite directions, that didn't stop the creature from firing them in two opposite directions, though.
Rain created walls on their path and made them change directions even more and then jumped to attack the wings of the dragon at the same time and while the creature wasn't able to stop them, it was able to cover its wings with ice and block their attacks.
The sound of steel colliding with something hard echoed in the area… Rain still was able to hear the sound of ice cracking, but in the end, what stood out more was the fact that Jori and Reca's arms were left trembling thanks to the impact.
The ice dragon swung its tail to smash Reca and its right arm to hit Jori, but they jumped away when ice walls appeared in front of them. Their reflexes were that good and that was why Rain said that they would be good test subjects for that experiment.
Before they could stop, the ice dragon summoned some walls behind them to make them collide against it, but Rain destroyed those by smashing them against others that he made fall over them.
