Chapter 1400: Infatuated gaze
Chapter 1400: Infatuated gaze
Xiao Hua was the first one to explode. He cursed, "F*ck! Who are they? They are really bold. They are living in your house and bullying you, who are these people?" As a mer who cared most about his looks, Xiao Hua knew how important the looks of a mer were, how could he accept someone injuring Sun Jie until his face was scarred?
Even though the scar was small, it was still a big thing for a mer. Fortunately, Yu Dong was not like other women and did not mind the scars and bruises on the faces of her husbands. She also did not look down on them because their hands were covered with calluses. If anything, she told them that they were really hard-working and she was proud of them.
However, Yu Dong was the only exception! If there was someone else, then Sun Jie would have already become a broken good and would have been either sold off or would have been divorced! Every woman wanted their husbands to be good looking without a scar, but that was not all. The scar was on the centre of Sun Jie’s forehead and it seemed to have ruined the cinnabar that was in the shape of Lotus! Discover exclusive tales on NovelBin.Côm
Anyone could see that Yu Nianian was really vicious. Even if she did not think of the consequences, she knew that hurting a mer’s face bore great consequences. Sun Jie was a special case and he couldn’t consummate his marriage as his mentality was that of a child.
Yu Dong wouldn’t do something like that either, thus he was just a free spirit who lived with them and played with Yu Dong time and time again while bringing small treasures that he found in the village to Yu Dong.
If Yu Dong did not treat Sun Jie well, he would really have nowhere to go. Such a small child but her head was really quick, in just a short time she thought so many things!
"Don’t curse, there are kids here," Chen Mi said to Xiao Hua. Who did not want to curse, he too wanted to scold those beasts but there were children in the house and he did not want them to learn coarse words. Especially Yu Mai who picked such things really quickly.
Xiao Hua poked his tongue out as he looked around the house, seeing that the children were not in the room he heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the children were not here or else he would have taught something really rude to the pure children.
He did not want to be the person who tainted the innocence of the kids.
Yu Dong was also quite upset but she did not say anything. She took out the cream from her space and handed it to Chen Mi who immediately took it and applied it to Sun Jie’s wound. The sooner it was applied the better, who knows if they delayed the wound might turn even ugly!
"Sister Dong Dong it hurts," Sun Jie spoke, his eyes were limpid. He wanted to scream and throw things but since Yu Dong did not like it, he held back.
Yu Dong’s heart ached for her husband. This poor mer, he was bullied in his own house. She hugged him after Chen Mi finished bandaging him and said to him, "It’s alright. Sister Dong Dong will punish those people. How dare they bully our little Jie."
She turned to look at Old Madam Yu who sighed.
Old Madam Yu then said to Yu Dong, "She is indeed my sister but I did not invite her. She and I have broken our relationship years ago. It had been half a century, I haven’t talked to her for ages."
"Then why is she here?" Yu Dong asked, if that woman did not have a good relationship with Old Madam Yu why was she even here?
"Who knows?" Old Madam Yu curled her lips and sneered. "Most probably she must have gotten in some sort of trouble. She has always been like that whenever she sees some benefit, she is quick to pick on it but the second my sister is in trouble, she chooses to run away as fast as possible."
Yu Dong scrunched her brows. Old Madam Yu seemed to realize what she was thinking and relayed everything that happened in the afternoon. Once she realized what happened Yu Dong could not blame Old Madam Yu. After all, they were now running a business. If the customers were to believe the words of Yu Sa then surely they would blame them.
Yu Dong was also smart enough to understand that when the poor and rich faced off, people sympathized with the poor more than they did with the rich.
If Old Madam Yu had not taken the child who fainted with her, then their family would have certainly been condemned. However now that these people were in her house, she knew that she would not be able to kick them out so easily as they wouldn’t leave.
Shen Li had the same worries. He could not help but say to Yu Dong, "I am not saying that we lack anything.
We can obviously raise another family if we want but I don’t think that they would be satisfied with three meals a day." What was more earlier he noticed the gloomy mer looking at Yu Dong with a strange gaze, at a simple glance it looked like he was only looking at Yu Dong with admiration but Shen Li had seen many mers eyeing his wife in the village.
He even heard from someone that they dreamt of becoming Yu Dong’s bed slaves, if she allowed them to.
So how could Shen Li not sense that there was something wrong with that mer’s gaze? He soon realized that he was looking at Yu Dong with infatuation!
It was clear that this family was not clean and they would sooner or later be troubled by them.
