Fifth Master Cui looked down at his hands. His fingers twitched and he clenched the envelope tightly before saying, "It's nothing just a small gesture from the Yu family for helping them."

Eldest Master Cui and the rest looked at one another before sighing. Even though it had been years since Fifth Master Cui married into the Cui family, he was still the same.

"Is that so, then they are indeed a kind family as Madam Song told us," Third Master Cui changed the topic. He smiled at Fifth Master Cui and said to him, "You should sit down and take a sip of this drink called Sago drink. It's a new drink that is being sold at the mall. I quite like it."

On the other side, Yu Tong took Madam Cui to the third plot of land after distributing the candies to the kids and the villagers in the village. She pointed to the large plot of land and said to Madam Cui, "This land is closest to the farms but it's quite far from the river, as you can already see. If you take this land then you need to find a way to dig a well."

As Fifth Master Cui helped her sister and brother-in-law, she was willing to explain the situation of each land in the great land.

This was something that Madam Cui had already seen in the capital. If they left the task to the servants, one would push it to another and then another one would hand it to someone else. She did not want a repetition of that thing here.

If the water source was close then she would at least be able to fill the vats on her own.

Yu Tong thought about it before saying, "There is indeed a land like that but it's the smallest one out of all the pieces of land."

She thought that it was better to warn the Cui family lest they think that she was messing with them.

Sure enough, when the Cui family heard the words of Yu Tong they frowned.

"Is there no other house closest to the well?" Eldest Miss Cui asked and Yu Tong shook her head.

"We have received a lot of requests from the county magistrate. She asked us to relocate those who had left their homes because of the drought. To be honest most of the lands have been taken away, only a few are left," Yu Tong was also helpless. It wasn't that she did not want to show good pieces of land to Madam Cui and her family.

But there was nothing that she could do with all the pieces of land being sold.

Madam Cui turned to look at Song Yixu who smiled at her awkwardly. "I did not know that you would be coming back with me, Master. If I had known then I would have asked Madam Yu to keep a piece of land for you."

Madam Cui of course could not blame Song Yixu. She rubbed her head and then said to Yu Tong, "Show us the land that has a well next to it."

"But mother——"

"An empty large house or a small house with comforts," Madam Cui questioned her daughters. "Which one do you want?"

The Cui daughters turned silent and Madam Cui huffed. She still couldn't believe that her daughters were yet to see the bigger picture. If only they were half as capable as Yu Dong, then she wouldn't have to worry like this in her old age.

She then turned to look at Yu Tong before saying, "Please lead the way…"

Yu Tong smiled and agreed and was about to lead them to the piece of land when she saw someone and her smile stiffened.
