Chapter 1356 Brimming with energy

"Is this the place?" Madam Cui stared at the giant doors. She had never seen a house as big as this one in a village. Usually, landladies did have really big houses but those houses could not compare to this one. It was as if she was standing in front of a house that belonged to an official or something.

Madam Cui couldn't believe her eyes as she stared at the gigantic doors that were made from the finest wood available in the market. She stared at the doors as if she was waiting for the hallucination to pass and the real thing to come out.

"This is indeed Madam Yu's house," said Song Yixu as she walked over to the mammy who stood on the left. She conversed with her for a while before the mammy peeked at Madam Cui who looked back at her with a frown on her face. She did not like it when someone stared at her.

The mammy arched a brow but she did not say anything to Madam Cui most probably because Song Yixu told her that this woman was her master and she was here to ask for Yu Dong's help.

Since the mammy knew Song Yixu, she opened the doors of the Yu house and allowed her inside. No sooner did the door open, than the Cui family felt as if they had stepped inside heaven.

Flush green leaves rustled under the onslaught of the soft winds, and grapes green and purplish-blue hung in bunches on the wall at the east. Right next to them were tomatoes and squashes. In front of them was a small garden where cucumbers and potatoes were growing along with corn.

That wasn't all, the Cui family could see that there was also a small garden where fruits were being grown. Pineapples were prominent as their little crowns peeked out of the land.

Though it took a long time for pineapples to grow, Yu Dong with her spiritual energy could grow them in months.

The sweet smell of the fruits and the lush vegetables brought tears to the eyes of the Cui family members. They knew how precious these things were as they had spent hundreds of taels buying nothing but rotten and cheap vegetables.

These vegetables and fruits in their eyes were nothing less than treasures that they needed to keep in their eyes and safeguard all the time.

"I..Honey, am I …am I really seeing a bunch of lush vegetables and fruits?" Eldest Master Cui asked his wife while hugging his daughter. Was there really such a good thing as small gardens filled with vegetables and fruits?

Even Eldest Miss Cui was shocked, she looked left and then she looked right before turning to look at her husband. She held his hand and pinched it tightly, "Can you feel the pain?"

"Of course," Though Eldest Master Cui felt a bit annoyed that his wife had pinched him instead of herself, he still answered her. He snatched his hand from her and then turned to look at the garden. His hands were itching to pick up a tomato and eat it but he couldn't as this garden did not belong to him.

However, there was someone who was a bit too impatient. Cui Yin, the daughter of the second house immediately rushed ahead and then picked a tomato off the branch. She bit into the red pulp and moaned in delight.

"Daddy this is really delicious! I have never had a tomato as sweet and sour as this, it's like a fairy tomato!" Cui Ying's exclamation drew the attention of the adults. Though many of the adults also wanted to eat the tomatoes, they held back as Second Master Cui pulled his daughter's ear.

"How many times have I told you to not eat anything without permission? You little glutton," he then turned to look at Song Yixu before apologizing, "I will pay for it, Madam Song. I am so sorry, my child has always been a bit naughty and unruly."

Second Master Cui was really embarrassed. It was fine that his daughter acted like this when they were at home but she was acting like this even when they were at someone else's house. He really wanted to smack her on the bottom but held back as they were not at their home.

Second Miss Cui was also embarrassed. She bowed her head and pressed Cui Ying's head down as well. "We apologize," she said as she pinched her daughter's cheeks.

Cui Ying realized that she had done something wrong and immediately followed suit.

However, Song Yixu did not take it to heart. She waved her hand and then said, "These vegetables are all used by the Yu family. They are not for sale, so there is no need for you to feel guilty." Fortunately, she brought them to the house and not to the greenhouse. If the kids made a mess at the greenhouse house, she would be the one who had to apologize to Yu Dong.

"That is right," Mammy Lin who stepped out after hearing the commotion, supported Song Yixu's words. She looked at the little kids who were all skin and bones before saying, "If you want you can take a tomato and cucumber each. It might not be much but it will make you feel a bit full.

She raised her head and looked at the adults who seemed like they were on the verge of crying just because they were not permitted to eat. Mammy Lin was amused by their expressions. She said to them, "You can pick as well. Just remember to leave space for the actual meal."

Her words were like mercy from the heavens. The Cui family members rushed to pick the tomatoes and cucumbers. Seeing them react like this, Madam Cui was embarrassed. She said to Mammy Lin, "I apologize for the inconvenience."

Mammy Lin turned to look at Madam Cui. She smiled at her and said, "There is no need for you to apologize, Madam. Our Madam and Madam Song are like sisters, if you are her guest then you are our guest as well."

When Madam Cui saw that Mammy Lin was really saying those words because she meant them and was not just paying lip service, she relaxed. She was afraid that her family's actions would leave a bad impression on this woman who was dressed so finely even though she was a servant.

Mammy Lin flashed a smile at Madam Cui before turning to look at Song Yixu. "Please follow me, Madam Song. My madam is not in a condition to come out at the moment."

"Did something happen?" Song Yixu frowned when she heard that Yu Dong could not come out. Was she injured but how? She only left the village for a week. How come something so serious happened to her?

"A bear came down the mountain," Mammy Lin did not tell Song Yixu that it was the kids who attracted the bear as that was not her right. She was just a slave purchased by the Yu family. How dare she gossip about her masters?

Song Yixu's eyes widened when she heard that Yu Dong was attacked by a bear, she immediately followed Mammy Lin inside. Madam Cui also followed, after all this Madam Yu was the one who would be giving them shelter in this village. It was only right for her to see what was going on with her.

The two women stepped inside the house and Madam Cui did not even have time to marvel at the wonderful furniture and things that were inside the house, as the second they stepped inside they saw two kids kneeling on the floor with their arms raised.

"Do you dare to go back to the mountains?" A mer who stood in front of them sternly asked.

And that was enough to tell Song Yixu and Madam Cui that there was more to this incident than just the bear coming down from the mountain.

"Master Ye," Mammy Lin cleared her throat as Ye Liu turned to look at her. His gaze fell on Madam Cui and Song Yixu and he brought the hand that was holding a thin stick down.

Ye Liu flashed a smile to the two women and then greeted them, "You are here? I will call for Yu Yin. He just left for the farm." Your next read is at empire

Song Yixu nodded as she turned to look at Yu Dong's room and questioned, "I heard that there was an attack by a bear, is Madam Yu alright?"

"She is fine in fact she is filled with a lot of energy," Ye Liu stated with a cold voice causing Song Yixu to tilt her head to the side. What …what was wrong? Why was he using that tone?
