Chapter 453 System's Message
Chapter 453 System's Message
Soon, Borin's team started cleaning up the Shelter. Borin actually had an Intermediate Shelter Crystal and used it to improve the durability of the Shelter. It could also ensure that the walls could deflect low-tier Zombies with its activation.
After doing all of this, Shane's team joined Borin's team inside the secured Shelter to rest. The tension among the group had dissipated quickly as they all began sharing resources and stories. Food was passed around, and a small fire crackled in the center of the huge mess hall.
At this time, Nia and Lysandra sat together, sharpening their weapons while Kael started chatting with Borin's squad of Priests.
It seemed that he was quite interested in the Holy Arts. He probably couldn't practice it, but he was aware that knowing about these strange abilities would only benefit him. Stay updated through empire
Vernon, on the other hand, worked with a few of the ROTK Clan's engineers to repair some damaged equipment. He wasn't just there to help but also to learn.
Shane found this interesting, so he didn't mind them at all. For sure, these people have all kinds of stories they could share with each other while hanging out.

During this time, Borin approached Shane, offering him a flask of wine.
"I bought it in the Marketplace… 20 Zombie Cores for 5 flasks… Ahem… Let's talk somewhere quieter," he suggested, motioning to a small, intact room of the Shelter's main building.
Shane followed him while looking at the strange container for wine. Anyway, he still tasted it, and although it wasn't better than the ones made by Bart, it was still acceptable.
Inside the room, Borin leaned against the wall and Shane noticed his expression turning serious.
"I wanted to warn you about something, Shane," he began. "You're heading to Sector 20, right?"
Shane's eyes narrowed. "How do you know?"
Borin raised his hands... "Relax. It's not that difficult to guess since the World Chat and Regional Chat is filled with strange things about Sector 20. You're not the only one heading there. Aside from that, only strong Clans or groups of Survivors were considering this journey, so it suited your team of strong Survivors."
Shane crossed his arms, as he could also guess this much.
"Ahem… There are a few powerful Survivors and groups making their way to Sector 20 as we talk here" Borin explained.
"Some of them are after high-value loot; others are chasing rumors about an ancient artifact tied to the Zombie Virus. But there's one group you need to watch out for—the Abyss Reapers. They're a ruthless band of mercenaries known for ambushing even strong survivors. They've taken out entire clans before. They'll definitely target someone like you. They're scarier than the Vampire who's targeting an area far from Sector 20."
Shane frowned as he had never heard about the Abyss Reapers. He immediately looked at the Top 20 Clan in the Leader and didn't find them.
1. New Haven Clan – Level 7
2. Drakeheart Vanguard – Level 7
3. Overlord Clan – Level 7
4. Phoenix Phalanx – Level 6
5. Blue Moon Clan – Level 6
6. Eclipse Revenant – Level 5
7. Shadowbinders – Level 5
8. ROTK Clan – Level 5
9. Celestial Circle – Level 5
10. Serene Garden – Level 5
11. Silver Sentinel Alliance – Level 5
12. Nightfall Nexus – Level 5
13. Ember Order – Level 5
14. Verdant Vanguard – Level 5
15. Wraith Walkers – Level 5
16. Ironclad Collective – Level 5
17. Stormcall Assembly – Level 5
18. Frostborn Union – Level 5
19. Dawnspire Order – Level 5
20. Sapphire Syndicate – Level 5
Shane gently nodded as he realized that the Abyss Reaper might just be a small clan or wasn't a clan to begin with… He then continued asking.
"What do you know about their strength?" Borin sighed.
"Their Leader, Vex, is a monster. He's rumored to have a talent that lets him drain the life force of others to enhance his own power. They're also well-equipped with military-grade weapons and some terrifying combatants. They're not moving in a large scale and were only targeting smaller Clans and shelters but it's most likely because of their number. There should only be 10 of them or something."
Shane nodded, absorbing the information. He should pay more attention to chat messages.
"Thanks for the heads-up. Anything else I should know?"
Borin hesitated for a moment before continuing. "Yeah... If you're going to Sector 20, you'll also cross paths with the True Survivor Clan... Well, it's the Alliance of three or maybe five Clans. They're trying to establish control over the area and won't appreciate uninvited guests…"
As he said this, he finally felt that he had paid enough in exchange for Shane dealing with the Necromancer. In normal cases, his Clan could easily deal with this Wild Shelter. He just needed to gather all of his members and bombard this Shelter into smithereens.
However, there was actually a hidden treasure within this Wild Shelter, and bombarding the Shelter might destroy this treasure he was looking for.
'I can't share the treasure with you, but I at least paid you for information from the Information Clan.' Borin thought as he confirmed that Shane had no relation with the Information Clan, a small clan that had the greatest information network.
'I guess he wasn't replying to their Clan Leader's message.' Borin mused as he believed that Shane should be receiving a lot of messages or friend requests but wasn't bothering to reply to them. It was probably the reason he had no connection to the Information Clan.
Anyway, Borin didn't tell him more about it as he waited for Shane's reaction to such information.
Shane's gaze was firm. "I appreciate the information, Borin. Since it's already too late, my team will stay here for the night, and we'll leave the next morning. Is that fine?"
Borin smiled. "So you're still planning to go to Sector 20? I expected no less from the Rank 1 Survivor. Alright... You can take one of the empty buildings here to rest."

Three days had quickly passed after Shane encountered the leader of the ROTK Clan.
Before he left the place, he actually made a decent deal with the man. They arranged a partnership that would benefit both of them.
After all, Shane learned that the ROTK Clan specialized in cultivating a crop called Flame Barley, a resilient plant with high nutritional value that could be harvested every 30 days. It was exactly the kind of renewable resource that Shane's Silver Mine Camp needed to sustain his growing population.
With Shane's supply of silver ores, he didn't mind trading some of them to the ROTK Clan at all, considering Borin's honest behavior.
They had agreed to a trade route between Shane's Silver Mine Camp and ROTK's base in the western mountains, solidifying their partnership without the need for direct alliances.
As Shane woke up in the morning, his usual routine of checking the Survivor Store and Reputation Store was interrupted by the system announcement…
"Oh? It's finally here… Why was it too late though?" Shane muttered to himself as he read the notification.
