Chapter 452 Success
Chapter 452 Success
Shane still felt confident about the huge number of Spirit Points he could use anytime he wanted. However, since his opponent was a Necromancer, he was a bit worried that this person could somehow use dark magic that could not be defended with his current set of skills.
Because of that, he knew that he had to end this quickly…
Screech~
Then, he saw the Wraithbound Spirits rush toward him, and their ghostly figures started screeching as they tried to latch onto his life force.
Shane activated Arcane Veil, and a strange barrier of mystical energy enveloped him.
This sudden action made the spirits recoil as their attacks were unable to pierce the protective aura for a brief moment.
Of course, Shane knew that this was only a temporary solution. So, with a flick of his blade, he unleashed his Energy Wave, spending 1,000 Spirit Points on it, and a crescent-shaped arc of energy appeared!
This ability wasn't normally that strong, but because of the Spirit Points he spent, he was able to tear through the Bone Constructs and scatter the Wraiths.
The room shook from the force of the attack, but the Necromancer stood unfazed as he actually used his own dark energy to block the rest of the energy wave.
To Shane's surprise, the Necromancer even seemed elated after taking his attack! Shane then saw Necromancer's sinister smile spreading across its face.
'Hmm? Did that benefit him instead?' Shane frowned at that sight. His knowledge about the Necromancers wasn't that intensive yet since even the A.I. Rebellion and Fairy Realm Invasion doesn't have them.
Anyway, before he could think too much, the Necromancer raised its staff, followed by a strange chant…
Just like that, shadows gathered around him, coalescing into a massive Shadow Beast—a two-meter tall creature with glowing red eyes and sharp claws.
Then, it charged at Shane with a speed similar to the Hunter Zombies!
Shane squinted his eyes as he activated Predator's Surge, his body surging with power as his agility and reflexes were amplified.
He dodged the Shadow Beast's claws by a hair's breadth since his movements were almost too fast to track right now. Leaping onto its back, he drove his blade into its spine, causing it to let out a deafening roar.
Thud!
The Necromancer didn't stop, summoning waves of dark energy that flowed across the room. Shane had no idea what it could do, but he didn't feel good about that wave of dark energy. He was then forced to disengage, flipping backward as he finally saw the energy scorched the ground where he had stood.
'So that's similar to my Energy Wave.' Shane briefly thought as he allowed Cloud to analyze everything about this Necromancer.
"You're persistent," Shane admitted. Nonetheless, his breathing was still steady despite the intensity of the battle. He was still not feeling troubled against this Necromancer.
Shane knew he needed to end the fight quickly. He activated Veiled Steps again, vanishing from sight as he circled the Necromancer.
"I can still feel your killing intent, human!" The Necromancer said as he lashed out with his staff…
Then, dark tendrils whipped through the air in an attempt to catch Shane.
Thankfully, he wasn't relying that much on his Veiled Steps… Aside from gaining a boost on his speed, he also needed this to switch out his weapon.
Now, instead of using the Gale Blade, he obtained from killing the Winged Leader Zombie, he decided to use his Butcher's Cleaver from the Butcher Master Zombie!
[ Butcher's Cleaver ( Legendary ) : Forged from an otherworldly alloy, its edge never dulls, and its blade carries a bloodthirsty aura. The Cleaver's power grows the more it is used in battle, feeding on the carnage it creates.
Effects: Physical Damage +300, Spirit Points +500

Carnage Synergy: For every enemy defeated, grants a +10% attack speed boost and +5% lifesteal for 10 seconds ( stacks up to 3 times ).
Flesh Render: Channels the Cleaver's energy to deliver a devastating, cleaving strike that targets enemies in a wide arc. This attack deals 400% weapon damage and causes a Hemorrhage Effect, dealing 5% of their maximum HP as damage per second for 8 seconds. Enemies afflicted by Hemorrhage receive +20% damage from all sources while the effect is active.
Cost: 100 Spirit Points ]
Although Gale Blade was his favorite weapon right now because of how easy it was to use and the speed it could grant him, this Cleaver was still his strongest melee weapon.
Furthermore, he liked the free 500 Spirit Points he could obtain while wielding this weapon. Although these 500 Spirit Points could only be used when using the Cleaver's Skill or Flesh Render, it was still a huge help.
As soon as he held this weapon, he felt its weight, and immediately slowed him down. However, he didn't mind it.
Seizing the opportunity, Shane struck from behind!
His Cleaver ignited with energy as he drove it into the Necromancer's side.
The Flesh Render was also activated, so Shane knew that this battle would be over once he managed to hit the Necromancer!
"Aaackkk!"
As expected, the Necromancer failed to realize how strong that strike was!
The person let out a pained scream, but before Shane could deliver a killing blow, the Necromancer unleashed a pulse of dark energy, forcing him back.
It seemed to be the Necromancer's desperate move to survive, so he knew that he just had to push further!
The two locked eyes, but Shane saw Necromancer's glowing blue irises filled with malice and frowned…
"Human! You will fall here!" The Necromancer roared, summoning a massive vortex of death energy as he started losing his life in the process!
Shane realized that these Necromancers couldn't just cast spells through Spirit Points but also Vitality Points!
Shane was not sure how to defend against such an attack. He could only channel a huge amount of Spirit Points to unleash Energy Wave and kill the Necromancer immediately!
But this time, he decided to charge forward and cast it closer to the Necromancer!
This action was also able to pierce through the vortex that the Necromancer created!
Boom!
The clash of energies created a shockwave that rattled the entire building!
As the Necromancer staggered, its life energy was already drained…
"That's it for you…" Shane then dashed forward with Predator's Surge, closing the gap in an instant.
With a single, decisive strike, he severed the Necromancer's staff in two and plunged his blade into the Necromancer's chest, cutting him in half…
"You---Aahh!" Your journey continues on empire
The Necromancer could only let out a final, anguished wail as its body crumbled to ash, and the remaining undead in the Shelter collapsed lifelessly.
[ You have eliminated a Wild Necromancer. ]
"Whew~"
Shane heaved a sigh of relief as he checked the loot he obtained.
[ You have earned 250 Experience Points. ]
[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x10, Dark Mage's Staff x1, Dark Mage's Robe x1, Dark Mage's Belt x1, Orb of Undead Summoning ( High ) x50, Necromancer's Grimoire x1 ]
"Whoaa~" Shane's eyes lit up after seeing the loot. Although the Dark Mage items, including the Grimoire, could not be used because of the affinity restriction, the Orb of Undead Summoning could be used. After all, it only needed Spirit Points to be activated.
"Not bad," Shane muttered in the end.
After a few moments, Shane finally stepped out of the Wild Shelter's main building, clutching the Advanced Shelter Crystal tightly in his hand.
Then, as his eyes scanned the battlefield, he noticed his team—Vernon, Nia, Kael, and Lysandra—standing uneasily, surrounded by dozens of armed Survivors.
Shane frowned after seeing this. "Is he taking them hostage?" The thought raced through his mind as he assessed the situation.
His grip on the Cleaver tightened, and his body tensed as prepared for the possibility of an ambush.
Suddenly, laughter broke the tension.
"Incredible!" Borin's voice rang out as he stepped forward, his face lit with awe and relief.
"You really killed that Necromancer! Well done, Sir Shane. As expected of the Rank 1 Survivor!" His tone was genuinely impressed, and his soldiers visibly relaxed.
Shane relaxed slightly but maintained a guarded demeanor. "You didn't seem to need my help, considering your army," he remarked coolly.
Of course, he didn't really think that way.
Borin chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "We managed the minions, but a Necromancer of that level? That was beyond us. Your intervention saved countless lives here. Please accept my thanks."
The compliment seemed genuine, and Shane gave a curt nod.
"I'll let you take over the shelter then," he said, showing the Advanced Shelter Crystal. "I have what I need from it."
Borin smiled since he really needed this Shelter for his project.. "You're generous, Sir Shane. We won't forget this."
