Chapter 202: Cosmic Power And A Certain Godess

Amidst the cosmic tapestry of the library, Akun’s frustrated voice resonated, "Ugh, I don’t have time for this." He forged ahead, his steps carrying him toward the imposing Book of Existence. The golden light cascading from its ethereal pages seemed to dance around him as he stood just before it, the celestial glow casting an otherworldly aura upon his silver hair.

Akun then proceeded to dig his left hand into the left side of the book first, and his right hand into the right side of the book. The way his hands entered the book was like an object being submerged underwater—a sensation similar to that feeling, except for what came next.

As Akun’s hands were submerged in the pages of the Book of Existence, they slowly started glowing, and then huge wave of cosmic energy could be seen surging forward through Akun’s body. The sensation felt like one was suddenly swept off their feet and carried away by a massive tidal wave. The sheer intensity made Akun feel like he would lose his mind.

"Ugh!" Akun gritted his teeth as he tried his best to handle the sheer amount of monstrous power that was coursing through his body.

"Darn it, system! I don’t think I can handle this much power. It feels like I’ll be destroyed if I endure any more. I’m gonna have to pull my hands out," Akun yelled inwardly, feeling the intensity of the energy flowing through his body increasing.

But if I don’t pull out my hands now, I’ll seriously become fried," Akun spoke as he glanced at his left hand, noticing a series of rainbow-pattern-like cracks appearing on his dark silver armor, breaking it away to also reveal his arms in that same state.

Crouched next to a golden shelf of books, Chrono Nexus noticed the change in the Book of Existence and the altered atmosphere around her master. She turned her head to gaze at him, observing the serious expression on his face. Bolts of cosmic energy started to fly around him, and a dangerous, bright, rainbow-like pattern of cracks appeared all over his body.

"Master seems to be in need of my assistance," she muttered as she swiftly got on her feet and headed over to Akun’s side. Wearing a genuinely concerned expression, she slowly proceeded to place her hand on his shoulder. The cosmic energy that was starting to build up in Akun’s body started to travel into Chrono Nexus’ body, lessening the burden on him.

As Akun turned to face Chrono Nexus, their gazes met, and she smiled as she spoke with a playful tone, "Master, you will reward me after this, right?" She wore an excited expression on her face, bringing up such a trivial topic during their current predicament.

Akun, feeling slightly grateful for her help, let out a sigh and said, "Fine, I’ll give you a reward." His response made Chrono Nexus look even more excited, but then he added, "But I won’t be sitting on you, so don’t get your hopes up." Her mood suddenly dampened.

Seeing her sudden change in mood, Akun mused, "I swear, I honestly don’t understand why she wants to be a chair so much, but I certainly don’t want to find myself in that awkward situation again, so no."

Hearing the system’s response, Akun turned to face Chrono Nexus again and said, "I’ll be going in now."

Before Chrono Nexus could reply, Akun was suddenly turned into particles of light and whisked away into the book of existence. Watching the moment unfold, Chrono Nexus couldn’t help but smile as she muttered, "A man truly deserving of my respect, showing me things that even I have never seen since the dawn of time."

Chrono Nexus, as the goddess of time and knowledge, is burdened not only with the responsibility of thwarting the efforts of those who dare to mess with the hands of time but is also burdened with possessing all of the knowledge stored in the library of time and existence.

The library of time and existence is so named because every event that has ever happened since the dawn of time is recorded here down to the last detail, like one’s thoughts and one’s secrets. No detail is left out, and all that information is arranged in different formats and organized in chronological order.
