Evolution begins with an ant colony

Chapter 166 Time Freeze

Chapter 166 Time Freeze

No one needed to tell Akun that the woman standing in front of him was a god. Inwardly, he mused, "The information that Darius gave me way back said the name of the god of time was Chrono Nexus. According to some legends, he is supposed to maintain the stream and flow of time, preventing the past, present, and future from colliding with each other.

This includes thwarting the efforts of those who want to mess with the flow of time. But I thought they were supposed to be a man. I mean, the being standing in front of me is definitely a woman, right?"

Suddenly, the system's voice echoed in his head:

[Ding!! The player is no longer within the confines of the barrier!]

[Does the player wish to continue their evolution to the Heavenly grade?]

Upon hearing the system's voice, Akun mused inwardly, "System, keep the evolution for later. I need to first handle this situation."

Stay tuned to empire

Suddenly the goddess spoke with a commanding tone, her presence overwhelming. She continued, "Explain yourself, mortal. How did you manage to manipulate the hands of time? Since the beginning of existence, many mages have tried, but all pathetically failed.

None came close to moving through time, let alone forcing its hands to move backwards." Her eyes, like a constellation of stars, gazed upon Akun with an intensity that seemed to pierce through his very being.

As he gazed at her, Akun mused inwardly, "If she proves to be a problem, I will have to enslave her. I won't allow her to be an obstacle in my goal of saving my people."

Akun responded with a cold tone, "I don't see why I have to answer that question. All you gods seem to think you own everything, and for some reason, mortals are supposed to suck up to you. But it would be a cold day in hell before I do that." His defiance was evident in his words as he faced the goddess unyieldingly.

The goddess gritted her teeth and continued, "Well, it doesn't matter. You not answering doesn't change the fact that you have to be dealt with immediately." The room filled with books seemed to fade away, revealing a battlefield. At first, Akun thought it might be a location in the godforsaken forest, but this place was completely desolate, with no vegetation in sight for miles in every direction.

With considerable distance between himself and the goddess.

Standing on the vast battlefield, Akun contemplated the situation. "Does she intend to fight me here? If so, I must act quickly. I have no idea what her skills or stats are. My dragon eyes failed to provide any information when I tried checking earlier, leaving me in the dark." His eyes gleamed from the visors of his helmet as he conjured multiple colossal railguns.

The intention was clear: to eliminate the goddess in a single overwhelming assault.

The railguns hummed with power, charging up for the imminent attack. In a resolute voice, Akun commanded, "Fire, Silver Railgun!"

With a deafening roar, all the railguns unleashed their devastating firepower upon Chrono Nexus. However, the goddess displayed an unsettling composure, seemingly unaffected by the ferocious onslaught.

The railgun bullets struck their target, creating a deafening explosion of force. A colossal dust cloud billowed into the air, shrouding the battlefield in a haze of debris and chaos.

Akun's breaths came out as ragged gasps as he observed the aftermath. With a weak voice, he mumbled, "That is the strongest attack I've ever unleashed. It cost an immense amount of mana. Regardless of how powerful the goddess is, she should be wounded."

His strength gave way, and he fell to his knees, exhausted. The dark silver used to form his helmet flowed down, revealing his face as it cascaded over the rest of his armor.

As Akun's gaze remained fixed on the dissipating dust cloud, the form of the goddess, Chrono Nexus, slowly emerged. She walked gracefully and calmly, her figure pure and untouched, not a single scratch could be found on her divine presence.

Akun's eyes widened with shock and disbelief at the sight before him. How could she be completely unharmed after his powerful railgun attack? It defied everything he thought he knew.

Chrono Nexus, radiating an air of indomitable power, spoke with a measured tone, "To be expected of a mortal who was able to put Xalender under him. But if you think I am as weak as he was, you are in for a rude awakening." Her voice held a weight that sent chills down Akun's spine, and the battlefield seemed to tremble in response to her presence.

Suddenly, her figure disappeared from sight. Upon seeing this, Akun mused inwardly, "What? Where did she go?" He tilted his head frantically, searching for her. Suddenly, her voice echoed directly behind him, "For a mortal to try and sully the divine, your punishment shall not be a small one."

Akun swiftly turned his head to find her directly behind him. Confusion swirled within him as he mused, "When did she get behind me?" For a brief moment, Akun was frozen in place. He gritted his teeth, his resolve resurfacing. He thought, "She's looking down on me. I can't allow that." With that in mind, he immediately created a large greatsword and shot it at her with his aspect power.

But before he could make his move, everything around him suddenly went dark. He couldn't move, he couldn't breathe, he couldn't see, he couldn't feel. It was as if all he's senses were instantly cut off.

The situation Akun found himself in was a result of Chrono Nexus freezing time around him. She then spoke up with a slightly irritated tone, "As much as I'd love to instantly get rid of you, I must study you and find out why your actions aren't being recorded in the library of time and all knowledge. The fact that such a being like you exists is a threat to all gods.

I must examine you and learn all that I can. Then I will find your origin, and erase you from existence."

The reason she had brought Akun to this desolate land was because she knew he would attack as soon as he could. His attacks could potentially cause significant damage to the library. Also, she didn't fully know what he was capable of. For the first time in existence, this would be the first time the goddess of time and knowledge faced something she nearly knew absolutely nothing about.
