Fairy Runalise finally hovered at the edge of the city, concealed by the thick emerald canopy of a forest. She didn't expect to see a nutritious land in this vast void dust space. Beyond the trees, the city walls could be seen. It was quite tall, but regardless, it seemed to be a work in progress as there were cultivators moving the construction materials with their martial prowess or soul force.

She flew past the walls without being questioned.

The workers merely glanced at her before nodding smilingly, making her feel strange.

When she looked further, she saw the streets were paved with stones and filled with buildings left and right, creating numerous pathways just like a city would have. The air was fragrant and filled with dense heaven and earth energy.

She could tell multiple sources of Transcendent Crystal Cores were implanted in every sector since even the outer region seemed to have such dense energy.

People were walking to and fro, minding their own business as though nothing was amiss.

"A flourishing city in this dark place…?"

Fairy Runalise frowned. Her robes fluttered in the wind before she headed towards the core region of the city.

As she did so, her heart felt strange.

The city was alive. Merchants called out to passersby, selling their wares. Children laughed as they chased each other through the market, their joy seemingly untainted by the fear they should have.

She found herself in the city square and could see an elderly man recite tales beneath a flowering tree. He had an audience of all ages, and people called him Master Dahu when they asked him questions.

Fairy Runalise could only look around as she couldn't hide her astonishment. She wondered if she was caught up in some kind of illusion and concentrated her soul force.

'Break!~'

She inwardly shouted and tried to dispel the illusion, but her aura bubbled, causing the other people to be frightened out of their wits as they sensed her extraordinary power.

"Woah, lady." Master Dahu stood up and stopped her, "You're quite strong. Are you from the Divine Emperor of Death's mansion or the other mansions? If so, my apologies, but you still couldn't be so frivolous with your usage of cultivation. Even the emperor's children can't do as they please in this city. They even got punished twice by their mothers for misbehaving with some stores."

"Woah, lady." Master Dahu stood up and stopped her, "You're quite strong. Are you from the Divine Emperor of Death's mansion or the other mansions? "My apologies. I didn't mean to be rude…" Fairy Runalise's expression softened.

She saw that the person in front of her was a Level Four Immortal King. However, she was still doubtful as she looked around.

Master Dahu continued, "The Divine Emperor of Death has never visited this city except once, and his decree was to live freely and righteously as our hearts lead. And he definitely doesn't act like he owns this city and us. Nobody does, not even the City Lord. Of course, if the Divine Emperor of Death wants to evict us, I'm sure he could do it, but why would such a powerful being want to do it or have anything to do with us?"
