Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4179 A Forceful Flip

Chapter 4179 A Forceful Flip

Chapter 4179  A Forceful Flip

Davis's dissatisfied look slowly receded until a faint grin appeared on his lips.

"You will lose faith in the heavens."

"What did you say?"

Fairy Runalise blinked as though she heard the funniest thing in the world, "Are you daydreaming?"

"…"

Davis didn't reply. He simply flipped the coin, causing Fairy Runalise's gaze to narrow. She watched the purple coin spin up to the ceiling. She offered no choice in the coin flip as it began to fall down.

"Heads."

However, a voice still echoed.

It was Davis who spoke this time, his voice filled with a strange intonation.

As the coin descended and hit the floor, a strange, unseen resonance spread throughout the area. It was not witnessed by anyone. It was as though no lifeform could notice it.

The atmosphere was eerily silent as Davis saw the surface of the coin and took a deep breath.

"Heads, I win."

Davis uttered the result.

Fairy Runalise could also see it was heads, but she scoffed.

"I didn't even agree. Even if you were forceful, I retain the right to deny your request. But your request wouldn't even happen in this lifetime, so why did you bother flipping the coin?"

Fairy Runalise asked as though she couldn't genuinely understand his intentions.

Davis thought for a moment before he lightly smiled, "You don't need to agree. You don't need to follow this request. I got a bit antsy and flipped the coin. I really hate to lose you know. Perhaps I was afraid I would lose, so I'll make amends for it and let you go."

"Huh?" Fairy Runalise's lips parted, and her eyes turned wide, her voice becoming cold.

"Bastard, if you want to make amends, you need to kill me with your own hands."

The chains clanged against each other as she lunged forward, looking as though she was going to rip him apart.

Davis shook his head, sighing lightly.

"I have killed beauties like you, but the truth is I hate having to end a beautiful soul. Let's just keep our previous words and sign the True Soul Contract."

He waved his hand and used his soul essence to sign the contract. After that, he sent it to her.

However, Fairy Runalise looked vehement.

"I won't! You did not keep your end of the deal. There's still one round left."

"But I don't want to play anymore." Davis shrugged, "I lost interest. If you don't want to sign, that's okay. I will still let you go for the not playing till the end, but are you sure you want to let go of this chance to save your fellow Heaven's Warrior?"

"…"

Fairy Runalise trembled as she glared at him with even more hatred.

He was totally cheating, refusing to participate in the final round. However, what could she do?

She was the prisoner, and he was her captor.

She was at a disadvantage from the very moment they started to play the game.

Using her soul force, she clenched her teeth and brought the scroll towards her face. She sacrificed one percent of her soul essence and signed the True Soul Contract. With that, they were bound to each other's requests, and failure to do so would result in them receiving an injury tantamount to a crippling loss that can lead to one's death.

"You're a coward!"

She sent the True Soul Contract flying back at him as she growled.

Davis caught the True Soul Contract and smiled faintly, "If I wasn't the least bit cowardly, I wouldn't be surviving this long. Courage the Cowardly Dog always survived."

"What?"

"Nothing." Davis shook his head and turned around to leave.

Fairy Runalise clenched her teeth and glared at him with intense rage.

This man was talking utter gibberish!

This was why she didn't want to play with an Anarchic Divergent. They can be so unreasonable!

She didn't believe he would let her leave either.

But after he left, two women still stayed inside.

Fairy Runalise sneered, "Still not eliminating me? Your Master is too much of a coward. I wonder if his subordinates are the same."

"…"

Lereza remained quiet, but Illumina twitched ever so lightly. She raised her hand, and nails as big as claws stretched out.

"I'll end her."

"Stop. That's not what Master wants." Lereza sent back a soul transmission.

Illumina's bosoms heaved as she suppressed her anger. She walked towards her and began taking off the chains of Fairy Runalise.

Fairy Runalise frowned. They were not disposing of her?"

She regained her cultivation first, able to use half her strength as the chains were removed one by one. However, she kept herself from attacking them, knowing she would lose and also die. She so wanted them to see them change their minds and kill her on the way out- no, she was sure they would trap her in another way.

She sneered and waited for the end.

Eventually, after the chains were removed, the talismans were also taken.

It wasn't easy to seal an Autarch. It required immense energy, which the chains lacked right now as there wasn't enough white lightning energy or formations to power it up. Of course, the chains could generate white lightning as they were made of innate materials, but they required an energy-gathering formation for it, which didn't appear to be built here.

Perhaps it would be built later.

Regardless, she didn't care and stood up, coldly glaring at Illumina and Lereza.

"You're free to leave."

Illumina cupped her hands and bowed lightly, "But until you leave, we both will be monitoring you. If you attack us, then don't blame us for being ruthless."

"No need."  Lereza shook her head, "She would die if she attacked us."

"You can't deny the one-way mindset of Heaven's Warriors. They're no different from bloodthirsty cultists." Illumina argued.

"…"

Fairy Runalise narrowed her brows, looking deeply offended, but she harrumphed and walked towards the exit.

"If we're cultists, then you are all disease-spreading vermin that needs to be eradicated. It's all the same."

Fairy Runalise exited the cave and looked at the starry sky. She saw that she was still in the Void Dust Tree's mini-realm. She expected it since the Divine Emperor of Death can't leave this realm.

Her brows narrowed again. She had collected so much information, but she was unable to reveal it. However, she didn't care. If her life needed to end, so be it. She was going to record the piece of information on a jade crystal and spread it all at once.

With that, she would've gained an incredible achievement cemented to her name, lasting multiple lifetimes.

However, she felt she hadn't learned enough. The Divine Emperor of Death refused to participate in the last round, and she didn't learn his secrets. She felt defeated again, causing her to frown.

'I haven't learned enough… I need to see what else he is hiding… they're going to kill me after I nearly exit the mini realm anyway…'

Fairy Runalise pondered. She glanced back and saw those two Empyrean Beast and Empyrean Fey who could instakill her still following her. She didn't feel good at all having them close by, but since it was their place, she didn't complain.

"The exit is that way. Leave so I can relax and enjoy some time with the children."

Lereza pointed towards the exit and yawned. She looked disinterested while Illumina was starting daggers at Fairy Runalise.

"Children?"

Fairy Runalise popped a healing pill into her mouth, released a blinding light, and switched out her bland robe for an exquisite white robe when she appeared as though she had heard something blasphemous. She turned to look at them.

"What do you mean children? Is it the Divine Emperor of Death's children or others? Have you all kidnapped them?"

"How rude." Lereza frowned, "Of course, we have other children in our cities, but what I meant was Master's children. They're so cute and innocent. Can you not talk about them? You're dirtying them with your mouth."

"You- I don't want to talk about his children even though they must be saved from him. I don't think I'm powerful enough to save them even if I wanted to, but commoners or any kind of ordinary people shouldn't be staying with you, especially children. Just what are you doing with them exactly? Evil blood rituals? Treating them as livestock for increasing the strength of your damned magical beasts that killed our Heaven's Warriors? Just what are you fiends up to!?"

Fairy Runalise growled, becoming emotional and angrier.

"You-" Illumina stepped forward, but a hand appeared in front of her, stopping her.

This time, even Lereza looked pissed as her eyes glared at Fairy Runalise.

"You accuse us without evidence next time, and I'm really going to make you crave death. My vines are capable of more than putting someone to sleep."

"Evidence? Why don't you see statistics from the records available in any major power? How many Divergents have caused blood to flow needlessly? How many have they sacrificed to fuel their strange and evil physiques? You two are Empyreans. Don't tell me you have never heard of a single Divergent's evildoing?"

Lereza and Illumina frowned.

Indeed, they have heard of it, but what about it? They knew Davis and the Divergents he had made friends with were different personally. They didn't resort to committing evil deeds but only retaliated wickedly.

They thought that this kind of retaliation was well warranted within this world, considering every other single cultivator did the same freaking thing or acted even more gruesome but wasn't vilified as much as them.

"Hmph! If at all you're saying the Divine Emperor of Death is different, then let me investigate." Fairy Runalise waved her hand.

"You were given the opportunity to leave, but you still want to stay?" Lereza's lips curled, "What are you scheming?"

"Scheming? That's what you people do. I conduct my investigations openly and orderly. If you let me go, I will definitely expose your location to the world!"

"Heh!~ Do as you please and die. Master has already made his decision, and neither of us will go against it."

"…"

Fairy Runalise trembled, her expression aggressive, before she coldly smiled, "Fine, fine. Let's see how long you two keep up your acting."

She turned around and headed towards the opposite direction of the exit.

"You-"

Illumina yelled out, but Lereza shook her head, "Let her go. That stupid lass will know that she knows nothing about us."

"But the people… she only promised not to harm Davis and his family. The others would be killed."

"We'll see. As a Heaven's Warrior, she wouldn't just start killing outright. Let's follow her."

Lereza comforted Illumina before they both followed Fairy Runalise. She seemed to be heading towards Davis's mansion, but once she got closer, she evidently stopped, knowing that she couldn't approach that region before she moved elsewhere.

She was heading towards the small city that was erected in this mini-realm.
