Chapter 201 Urgent Win.
Chapter 201 Urgent Win.
Red Dream suggested meekly, "Boss, it would be great if we could eliminate Fire Rose. She has been poking her nose in our business a lot lately. She has wiped out a lot of gangs recently and will surely interfere with our expansion."
Kelvin considered her suggestion seriously. Then he nodded and said, "Alright. Tell me everything about your plan. I want to every little detail. Don't miss anything."
The boss and their subordinates began working on how they would deal with Fire Rose. They discussed and planned for ten minutes. Then they went their separate ways.
Kelvin didn't return the way he came. He didn't want to bump into Fire Rose by chance.
He took another path that led him to an abandoned skyscraper at the edge of the city. It is the same skyscraper that his subordinates had prepared to use.
While he was climbing the skyscraper, Wrath spoke to him. She said, "It seems you enjoy being a boss."
He replied with a nod, "It is not bad at all. I might get used to this."
She warned him, "Don't just let down your guard and become complacent. This guy's can still betray you."
He assured her, "Don't worry. I don't trust so easily. I am always expecting betrayal."
Wrath didn't say anything anymore. So he was able to climb the derelict skyscraper in peace.
He soon reached the top and looked down below. He said, "This place is great. I guess this is why they chose this location. That and it is far away from the city so reinforcements will take a lot of time to arrive."
It was a good location for what he was about to do. It granted him an overhead view of the whole city. Plus, with the binoculars that his subordinates gave him, nothing in the city could escape his sight.
He could even see far into the distance where the false location given to Fire Rose was. He didn't see anyone there.
This didn't discourage him. Instead, he smiled and said, "This might just work."
Then he began climbing down the skyscraper.

A few minutes later, someone reached out through the Justice League network to Fire Rose.
"Captain, I see the target."
She asked over the cons, "Are you sure?"
The scout replied, "Affirmative. He is alone."
She said, "Good. Now keep your eyes on him and update us on his position. I will inform you if there are any changes to our plan."
The Justice League had received a tip-off about the arrival of the boss of a human trafficking ring. They receive tip-offs all the time, so this was not strange. It also wasn't enough for them to take it seriously.
But there was something special about this tip-off. The message had said that they weren't tipping off the Justice League because of kindness. They had made it clear in the message that they were doing so to use the Justice League to help them get rid of their boss.
A normal tip-off would be suspected of being fake or being a trap by villains. But one that has its selfish motive stated so clearly made the Justice League consider that this might be a trap, and they took it seriously.
They took it seriously, which is why they informed Fire Rose about it at all. After all, if they are to subdue this powerful boss with the ability to shift himself into diamond, they will need her fire.
They suspected that this boss might not be real, and even if he was, he might just be bait. But the Justice League still took it seriously because they plan to turn this trap on the heads of the villains that set it up.
Fire Rose agreed immediately. The heroes needed a win urgently, and this looked like the perfect way to turn this around. A win in this case will go a long way in boosting their morale.
A lot of them have been dying because of the secret war. They are losing it because assassinations and solo operations are not their strong suit. They are used to working together, while villains are used to working alone.
There is also the lack of motivation. Villains don't need reputation, popularity, or fans. They will be content with money. So they are willing to perform assassinations where very few people will know of their exploits. A bounty list is a great motivation for them to kill.
Heroes, on the other hand, are not willing to risk their lives for money. They can get money from any of their fans. What they want is popularity which is not something they will get if they kill someone and keep shut about it so that no one will target them for it.
If no one sees them fight and kill a villain, or no one hears about their deeds, it would be as if they had wasted their time and risked their lives for nothing. So the villains were more motivated for the secret war than the heroes and were achieving a lot of success in it.
As it is, many heroes are already doubting if they should go ahead with the war. They are not sure that they will be able to survive till the time of the open war, so they want to give up.
Popularity and faith in the heroes is also at an all-time low after the injury to a hundred thousand people in the city and the constant news updates about heroes being assassinated. The trust the people have for heroes has fallen. So the heroes needed a win urgently.
This operation is to be the win that will turn things around for the heroes. But they didn't let their eagerness blind them to caution. They sent a scout first to ascertain the situation.
That scout had gone to the location in the tip-off, but she didn't find anything or anyone. This undoubtedly made the heroes disappointed, but they continued watching the location hopefully.
