Chapter 304 Pretty Cheerleader, Be Mine
Chapter 304 Pretty Cheerleader, Be Mine
"Mister MVP," Lina said as she faced Kai.
Kai chuckled and shook his head. "MVP?"
"Yeah," Lina smiled. "You got the most points this game once again. 28 points in total."
Kai scratched the back of his neck. He didn't think he had scored that much. In the past two games, he was the best scorer on their team, and he felt he was getting closer to his goal of being part of the Elite Five.
"It's crazy!" Lina exclaimed. "Your rebounds and assists are really good, too."
Kai smiled and looked at his teammates, who were all busy packing up.
"I wouldn't have done it without them," he muttered.
The crowd, still feeling the excitement of the game, couldn't leave their seats even when the game was already over.
The office workers who only went because of excess tickets being sold at the front of the court felt like they got more than what they bargained for.
Some of the people had gone down to the court to take photos with their favorite players.
Yuze was surrounded by his fangirls, while Renren couldn't leave with his dad because he was blocked by some people, too.
Jet looked around and stood in front of their bench.
"Is no one going to take photos with me?" he asked with a proud smirk.
Meanwhile, the girls at Juren High encouraged their prettiest friend to go to the Shizi Dogs' bench and give Kai the letter she created.
"Will he take it?" she asked.

"Of course!" her friends exclaimed. "No one has ever rejected you before, Kim."
Kim smiled and stood from her seat. However, as they made their way down the court, they saw that many people actually had the same idea as Kim.
"So, are we going to celebrate tonight?" Kai asked.
Lina nodded excitedly. "Yeah! Shang's dad decided to take us to this seafood restaurant. Coach is paying. Renren and some others won't be able to go, though."
Kai smiled. "Maybe next time," he said.
"Well, we're just waiting for him to come around before we leave," Lina continued. "So, before that, can I talk to you about something?"
Lina felt her heart race in her chest since she had finally plucked enough courage to confess to him again.
"Uh, sure," Kai said. "Where do you want to talk?"
Before Lina could respond, they were interrupted by a group of ladies who wanted Kai to exchange numbers with them.
"Hi, Kai! Can I take a picture with you?"
"Please accept my letter!"
"Is it alright if we exchange numbers?"
As one person asked Kai, it created a domino effect, and he was instantly surrounded, just like Yuze was.
Lina was quickly pushed to the side, appearing dejected. Her eyes met with Kai's for a few seconds, but she quickly looked away when she saw how many people were vying for Kai's attention.
With that, she sighed, turned away, and started walking to the exit, where she opted to wait.
Kai clicked his tongue and looked at the people who wanted his attention.
He knew that his mission wasn't over yet. There were a good ten people surrounding him at the moment, and those could contribute to his XP.
However, seeing Lina walking away compelled him not to entertain their advances anymore—even if it meant losing some XP.
Just in time, Kim managed to get in front of Kai.
Kai was surprised when he saw her yellow uniform.
"Juren High?" he whispered, so he was the only one who was able to hear himself.
"I was wondering if we could take a photo together?" Kim shyly asked.
The players, both from the Shizi Dogs and the Feng Foxes, glanced over their way, amazed by how Kai was being confessed to by a beautiful girl from Juren High.
However, Kai's gaze was still somewhere else.
With that, he looked at his admirers with an apologetic gaze.
"Sorry," he said. "I can't accept all of these."
Then, without hesitation, he gently made his way out of the circle of admirers and started walking toward Lina, whose back was still turned away from him.
"Lina," he said, but the girl wasn't able to hear her name.
She was already in the middle of the court, so Kai hastened his movements to get to where she was.
There was still a fairly large crowd in the court, with only some managing to exit.
He was about to hold onto her arm when he suddenly heard his name being called by a familiar voice.
"Kai Guo!"
Kai stopped in his tracks, and Lina did, too.
It seemed like the court had become silent with the girls' exclamation, too.
Then, Kai turned around.
Lina also turned around. So, she wasn't able to meet Kai's eyes—just his back.
However, she could see the girl who was walking toward him, clad in a pink cheer uniform that made her glow under the court's artificial lights.
"Suzy Mei?"
"That's Suzy Mei, right?"
"Wow, she's really pretty. I've only ever seen her from far away."
"Why did she call Kai's name?"
The players turned to each other in surprise.
"What the heck?" Kexin muttered. "Don't tell me he's going to win twice tonight."
The Shizi Dogs also weren't able to hide their surprise. They knew that Suzy had talked to Kai before, but it was still surprising how she called her name out loud in front of such a huge crowd.
Suzy and her team were notorious for not giving a damn about their basketball team!
Meanwhile, Sir Dao also stopped in his tracks when he heard his daughter's familiar voice.
"There you are," he said when he saw her on the court.
However, he quickly halted when he saw who she was walking toward to.
"What is she doing?" he muttered with a small frown.
Kai's frown deepened as Suzy confidently strided to where he was.
Then, she stopped about one foot away from him, looking into his eyes.
"What's your gimmick?" Kai couldn't help but ask.
Suzy continued looking him in the eyes before looking around the court, making sure that many people were watching the scene.
"Kai Guo," she repeated, her voice echoing in the silent court.
"I like you."
