656 Chapter 656: 28th Layer of Hell's Authority! Disturbance in the Little World!?
What Will of Hell didn't know was that this seemingly absurd idea was, in fact, exactly what Sterl wanted!
If Will of Hell truly intended to follow through with this, Sterl would be overjoyed and would accept it eagerly.
After remaining silent for a long while, Will of Hell couldn't think of any treasure worth offering. Feeling the increasingly hostile gaze from Sterl, it finally made up its mind.
"This time, it seems I really have to cut off a piece of flesh."
Will of Hell sighed in resignation. It never thought that, as the Ruler of Hell and the embodiment of the world's will, it would one day have to humble itself and make such a lowly gesture to please someone.
But if it didn't do this, it might not even have the chance to beg for mercy. After all, the mysterious invaders wouldn't care about its surrender. Once they killed it, Hell would fall into their hands, and accepting its submission would only be a redundant gesture.
The price that Will of Hell planned to pay was, unexpectedly, the very same absurd idea it had just considered: since it couldn't offer anything else, it would have to surrender itself.
More specifically, it would give a large portion of The Authority of Hell.
One must understand that once The Authority of Hell was granted, it could never be reclaimed. Those who received this bestowed power would gain the highest level of authority within Hell, second only to Will of Hell itself!
In essence, Will of Hell was a massive, unified authority. However, after countless eons of evolution, what was originally just a primal force that ensured the operation of Hell had gradually developed a self-conscious will of its own.
If one day, Sterl were to master more authority than Will of Hell, he would replace it and become the new ruler of Hell!
It was like the power in an emperor's hand: even if only a little was given away, the supreme status would be shattered.
And if, in the future, the ruler's own power didn't exceed that of his subordinates, rebellion would be inevitable.
Though Will of Hell was deeply conflicted about this, it realized that there was no other choice. This was the only solution to its dilemma.
If anyone was to blame, it was Will of Hell itself, for it had tricked Sterl first and almost led him into ruin. Therefore, paying a price was only fair.
With a thought, Will of Hell forcibly severed a portion of its authority and granted it to Sterl.
On Sterl's side, he immediately felt a divine power surge into his soul, deeply embedding itself within, becoming an intrinsic part of him, as if it were something he had naturally mastered.
This wasn't a forceful imposition of power. Rather, his own soul recognized the benefits and actively merged with the new power.
Sterl's thoughts stirred, and this sensation was identical to the one he had experienced when integrating the powers of the 6th and 4th Layers of Hell. The only difference was that the scale of this power was far greater!
A smile slowly spread across his face, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. Power was a good thing. The more power he had, the more authority he would have in Hell.
Not only that, but with the authority of a layer of Hell, he could use the power of that authority to reveal the basic laws of that layer. This allowed him to gain a clear understanding and profound insight into the essence of that layer's power.
Furthermore, he would be able to call upon all the strength of that layer of Hell. Even Will of Hell would be unable to challenge him by using the authority of the layer that he now controlled.
"I wonder just how much Will of Hell is willing to pay..." Sterl thought to himself, quietly.
This wasn't a joke anymore. He had almost been trapped and killed. While the threat of the invaders kept him from turning against Hell immediately, once this matter was resolved, he would surely make Will of Hell pay in full.
Sterl believed Will of Hell understood this very well, so it wouldn't dare deceive him again. If it did... not only would it have to deal with the mysterious invaders, but it would also have to face Sterl's wrath!
Before long, the fusion of the authorities gradually came to a close. Sterl took a deep breath, feeling as if something new had been added to his body.
A thought crossed his mind, and suddenly, countless images appeared in his consciousness.
These included the 4th, 6th, and 10th layers of Hell. In addition, images from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th layers... as well as many of the Hell layers between the 6th and 10th, even those beneath the 10th, all surged into his mind!
It was as if he had become the creator of these Hells, standing high above, commanding everything!
After carefully feeling the influx of power, he was astonished to realize that the number of authorities he had now integrated had reached a total of 28!
And the deepest authority had even reached the level of the 32nd Layer!
"This is what it feels like to be a Ruler?" Sterl silently experienced the sensation. In a way, it was quite similar to the feeling of his own little world, but on a grander, more real, and far more overwhelming scale!
"Wait a minute... What's going on here!?"
At that moment, Sterl felt a jolt run through him, as if struck by lightning, freezing him in place.
Just as he was carefully contemplating the status and power bestowed by these authorities, a strange sensation suddenly surged within him. His inner world, the little world, seemed to be yearning for something!
Sterl took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm the roiling emotions inside. He focused and tried to understand the cause of this change in his little world.
In the next instant, he froze for a moment. It turned out that the thing his little world was craving was none other than the Hells he now controlled!
In other words, his little world wanted to devour these 28 layers of Hell!
Not only that, but with the Authority of Hell in his grasp, Sterl could clearly sense that with just a thought, he could merge the Hells he controlled into his little world.
What would happen if he did that, Sterl wasn't sure. However, he had a strong feeling it would most likely be a good thing.
As his strength grew and his arcane skills deepened, his little world became increasingly real. But he knew very well that this "realness" was still fake on some level. For example, the stars and followers within his little world, though seemingly identical to those in reality, were missing one crucial thing—souls and reincarnation!
Though the beings inside his world did possess a faint spark of soul, which allowed them to continuously provide him with power of faith, their souls were extremely weak. Once they died, they would completely dissipate.
In a truly real world, however, the souls of deceased beings would return to the world, going through a cycle of reincarnation. Regardless of the disasters they faced, they would always be restored, continuing to evolve.
Moreover, the most important thing was that while Sterl could absorb real-world entities into his little world, he couldn't release anything from his little world back into reality.
If that weren't the case, he would have long since become the master of a starry sky, capable of wielding power that could easily rival the might of any so-called Divine Power.
"Could it be that by devouring these Hells, my little world will become truly real!?"
With this thought, Sterl couldn't suppress his excitement. His heart raced with anticipation.
If that were the case, he would effectively have an entire world as a reserve of power! This way, even the energy of the Mother Body would be no match for him!
Not only that, but a real world could continually absorb power from the Void, giving rise to new souls. In that case, he would have a never-ending supply of souls at his disposal!
For a moment, Sterl was bursting with excitement, but he forced himself to suppress it, not wanting to give any indication to Will of Hell that something was amiss.
It took a long while before he managed to calm the surging emotions inside him.
He decided to set aside the unusual change in his little world for the time being. Even if he wanted to try devouring the Hells, now wasn't the time.
Otherwise, Will of Hell might immediately place him on a blacklist even more dangerous than that of the mysterious invaders. It's possible that, even if no immediate action was taken against him, he would never be granted any more authority over Hell again!
After all, those invaders were gradually consuming and plundering Hell, but Sterl, if he went ahead, would be devouring 28 layers of Hell all at once!
This wasn't just a matter of taking a piece of Hell; it was like he was going to chew through Hell itself in one go!
"Wait… something's wrong..."
The reason why the Authority of Hell granted to him was comprised of these ruined Hells was because these were the only ones Will of Hell could currently control.

Sterl suddenly halted. He realized that these more than twenty layers of Hell had already become nothing but empty shells—Hell that had been completely taken over by the mysterious invaders!
At first glance, it was shocking, but upon closer inspection, it was clear that nearly every layer had been reduced to mere remnants.
Most of the Hell had been completely hollowed out—there were no living beings left, not even anything of value.
What use were these Hells now? Was Will of Hell trying to pull the wool over his eyes!?
A spark of anger flared up inside him. Did Will of Hell really think he was some easy mark, trying to pacify him with this broken debris!?
It seemed that Will of Hell had anticipated his reaction, as a surge of information from Will of Hell flooded into Sterl's mind.
The message was essentially a sincere apology, pleading for his forgiveness.
The reason why the Authority of Hell granted to him was comprised of these ruined Hells was because these were the only ones Will of Hell could currently control.
Other layers of Hell were under attack by the invaders, and even Will of Hell's power was severely restricted. He could no longer move freely or manipulate Hell as he wished. In order to regain full control, all the invaders had to be eradicated, and the gray void had to be closed. Only then could Will of Hell restore his true authority.
In other words, Will of Hell wasn't deceiving Sterl—it was simply that these were the only assets left to him.
Moreover, Will of Hell promised that once the current crisis was resolved, Hell would be rebuilt, and the ruined layers would be restored one by one.
Sterl, however, was just feigning anger to cover up his earlier emotional outburst.
Upon hearing the explanation from Hell, he composed himself and made an effort to mask his emotions, pretending to accept Will of Hell's apology and explanation.
