Chapter 655: Adding Another Law! Will of Hell is About to Cry…

655  Chapter 655: Adding Another Law! Will of Hell is About to Cry…

The Mother Body perished, the gateway closed, and the Frozen Desolation layer of the Tenth Hell was completely liberated.

However, the entire hellscape was now a barren wasteland. Almost no life remained, and even the souls were reduced to just a few—only a couple of cats, big and small.

It wasn't just a matter of a few centuries; not even after thousands or tens of thousands of years could this layer of Hell return to its former state. It had fallen into complete desolation.

As for the mastermind behind all this, it certainly wasn't Sterl. He was the hero who saved Hell. If anyone was to blame, it would be the invaders.

He then glanced at the situation within Purgatory Space, where the spoils were plentiful. Though fewer than those from the Sixth Layer of Hell, they still exceeded twenty million souls, with a significantly larger number of legendary and demigod-tier souls.

One legendary or demigod soul was worth the soul power of a hundred ordinary souls. By this calculation, he had gathered at least two to three hundred thousand soul power.

"Right, there's also the million souls the Mother Body transmitted elsewhere…"

He sneered. It was likely that these souls had been transmitted to the Mother Bodies of other layers. That meant, as long as he killed his way through those layers, they would eventually return to him!

Sterl didn't immediately convert these souls into soul power. Instead, he abruptly looked up, his gaze seemingly cutting through countless distances, locking onto the Will of Hell, who was watching everything unfold.

The Soul Prison's Eerie Eyes gently activated, and his eyes became like black vortexes—deep, terrifying, and spinning in a slow, inevitable motion. It felt as if, at any moment, he could drag the Will of Hell straight into Purgatory Space and refine it mercilessly!

Sterl's eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of caution in his gaze. He made a mental note to disrupt the Mother Body's actions at the earliest opportunity. Otherwise, these souls, which should have been his, might slip away.

"No worries, I'll make sure to get them back. Just like how you swallowed them, I'll make sure you spit them out."

He sneered. It was likely that these souls had been transmitted to the Mother Bodies of other layers. That meant, as long as he killed his way through those layers, they would eventually return to him!

Though he had been on high alert from the very beginning and had prepared for the worst, the false information from the Will of Hell still managed to trip him up.

Sterl didn't immediately convert these souls into soul power. Instead, he abruptly looked up, his gaze seemingly cutting through countless distances, locking onto the Will of Hell, who was watching everything unfold.

Fortunately, his deep reserves and numerous techniques had saved him. Otherwise, not only would the Will of Hell have been gradually consumed, but he, too, would have faced retribution from these invaders, with unpredictable consequences.

Sterl silently fixed his gaze on the Will of Hell, without speaking or revealing any emotion. Yet, his profound eyes alone were enough to cause the soul of any being to fall into despair.

Since his talent had awakened, it had always been Sterl who played tricks on others—no one had ever dared to deceive him. Yet, unexpectedly, Will of Hell had managed to pull a fast one on him.

As Will of Hell felt this gaze, what had once been anger over Sterl's complete destruction of the souls of the Hell creatures in this layer—almost wiping out all of their existence—began to subside.

Though Sterl was just an individual being, not even possessing the status of a higher divine authority, and Will of Hell was, after all, the collective will of all the beings of Hell, a being known as the Hell Ruler, it was clear now that this insignificant individual could still provoke such a feeling in him.

Under Sterl's gaze, Will of Hell felt an unnerving sensation, as if some deadly adversary had locked onto him. The sensation was almost primal, something deeper than fear—like the instinctual terror of being hunted by an eternal foe.

In truth, Sterl had been thinking earlier about how many souls he would obtain if he dragged Will of Hell into Purgatory Space and refined it. After all, Will of Hell, as the embodiment of all the will of Hell's creatures, though it only contained the essence of one being's soul, accumulated over countless years, amounted to an overwhelming force.

Moreover, after so many years of evolution, what had once been the fleeting and ethereal will of countless souls had now been solidified into something far more potent. In terms of soul quality alone, it could easily be considered at the level of a divine soul.

Not to mention, the sheer size of Will of Hell's soul was staggering.

The thought made Sterl's heart stir. His anger dissipated considerably, replaced by a rising sense of greed. If he could indeed refine and absorb it, not only would that allow him to break through his second limit, but it might even be enough to break through to the third level of soul power!

As these thoughts played out in his mind, Will of Hell felt an increasing sense of unease, almost as though it could sense the brewing storm within Sterl. As the collective will of the world, Will of Hell's intuition screamed that if it didn't act quickly to address Sterl's anger, catastrophic consequences were inevitable.

Suddenly, the once-empty sky began to shimmer with countless radiant lights, resembling the blessings that had descended in the first two layers of Hell.

However, this time, the quantity of lights falling from the sky was far greater than in the previous two layers. In fact, the combined total of the first two couldn't even compare to the sheer number now.

Sterl calmly observed the Hell's Blessing descending from the heavens. He did not reject it but simply accepted it in silence.

At once, he felt waves of profound energy entering his mind. Sterl quickly realized what was happening: this was an infusion of Law.

Without any hesitation, he immediately began to comprehend it. His remarkable understanding activated fully, and at an astonishing speed, he began absorbing the essence of the various Laws being infused into him.

The sensation was akin to a sudden enlightenment, almost as if the Laws were being dissected and analyzed in the simplest and most direct manner in his mind. Along with the information flooding his consciousness, corresponding waves of Law energy surged through his body, making his comprehension feel as if he were guided by divine assistance.

Frost Law, Solidification Law, Freezing Law, Sealing Law, Hurricane Law...

Just like in the Fourth Layer of Hell, these were the five fundamental Laws that formed the very foundation of the Frozen Desolation Hell!

Before long, Sterl had mastered the profound essence of these five Laws. With his extraordinary insight, he continued to deepen his understanding.

From Incomplete to Mastered, and then quickly breaking through to Perfect... By the time the mysterious aura dissipated, his control over the Laws had reached the Perfect Level!

Now, with these five Perfect Level Laws, plus the ones he had already mastered, he was nearly on the verge of understanding twenty Laws—and most of them at the Perfect Level!

"With my current soul strength, even with so many Laws, I still don't feel any pressure," Sterl thought as he assessed his current state. These ordinary Laws seemed insignificant, as no matter how many he had, they couldn't completely fill his soul. Perhaps only Higher-Level Law Power could give him that sense of fullness.

But as far as Laws were concerned, the more, the better.

For gods, however, breaking through to a Higher Divine Authority required a continuous enhancement of both their mastery of Laws and their Divine Authority.

There were typically two ways to achieve this progression: one was constant comprehension and introspection to deepen their understanding of the Laws and Divine Authority, and the other was hunting.

By hunting gods who possessed similar Divine Authority and Laws, and absorbing fragments of their Divine Authority, they could strengthen themselves and their connection to the Laws, until they experienced their final transformation.

Most gods would employ both methods simultaneously, but even then, the process was incredibly long and arduous. It required vast amounts of time and effort, and there was always the risk of being hunted by other gods as a resource.

After all, the gap in quality could not be compensated for by quantity.

However, Sterl didn't care about such things. In his view, bigger was better, and more meant stronger. The more Laws he mastered, the stronger he would become!

As long as he grew stronger, what did it matter if he faced any bottlenecks down the line? That wasn't something he needed to worry about. When the time came, he would simply shout, "Cheat, evolve for me!" and all his problems would vanish!

Once he had finished mastering the Laws, he began leisurely absorbing the blessings of Hell.

"Heh, with just this little bit, you think you can calm my anger?"

As a massive amount of the blessing power flowed into his body, constantly boosting his vitality and various attributes, Sterl felt an almost unnoticeable increase. But with his current base power, even though these blessings were ten times more than before, the effect was barely noticeable.

But Will of Hell itself wasn't in a good state. Hell was in turmoil, with the land in desperate straits. Even if there were any treasures left, they had either already been used, destroyed, or devoured and erased.

Meanwhile, Will of Hell was completely stunned. This time, it had really put all its chips on the table—so much blessing power, an accumulation that would have taken it hundreds of years. And yet, despite all that, not even a ripple had been stirred in Sterl!

"What kind of monster is this?"

Will of Hell was starting to feel numb. In its eyes, Sterl seemed even more like a monster than the invaders themselves. Had this person been pretending to be weak, lulling others into underestimating him?

Yes! That had to be it! Otherwise, how could his power have changed so dramatically in such a short amount of time?

It started to convince itself—after all, it couldn't think of any other reason to explain the sheer magnitude of Sterl's power.

Since the moment Sterl had entered Hell, his power had evolved at an almost incomprehensible pace. It was like he was transforming every second. Only those ancient monsters who liked to conceal their power could manage such a phenomenon. Will of Hell simply couldn't understand how this was happening.

Helplessly, it realized that despite the huge sacrifice, it still hadn't satisfied Sterl.

But Will of Hell itself wasn't in a good state. Hell was in turmoil, with the land in desperate straits. Even if there were any treasures left, they had either already been used, destroyed, or devoured and erased.

Thinking it over, it suddenly realized the dire situation: as the Ruler of all Hell, the collective will of countless creatures and layers of Hell, it had ended up completely penniless. Not even a single decent treasure could be found!

At that moment, Will of Hell felt utterly stunned. What should it do now? There were no resources left, no treasures, and it couldn't possibly just offer itself up!
