Chapter 1461: Frost Seal
Chapter 1461: Frost Seal
Mountains collapsed and thick dust clouds filled the air. Guo Jiufeng, Wang Xu, and the rest were greatly taken aback. They had never even imagined that Fang Xingyun would act so decisively. A seventh-grade Duke bursting forth with all his might with the intent to kill a second-grade Transcendent!
That fist strike was like a violent thunderbolt. Even certain sixth-grade Dukes would be grievously injured by it. Could Li Luo have been eliminated just like that? As Fang Xingyun remained floating in the air, thunder energy flowed through his eyes, giving him a domineering appearance. He didn't feel like the sudden ambush was beneath him in any way. Since Li Luo was a threat, he would naturally neutralize him without regard for his methods. His gaze was focused on the wrecked remains of the mountains that Li Luo was buried under.
Li Luo couldn't have lost just like that, right? If that was the case, he would feel greatly disappointed.
Bang!
Just as this thought went through his mind, sounds were heard coming from the depths of the destroyed mountains. A moment later, a powerful resonant power tempest blasted outwards, directly disintegrating the ruins of the mountains around him.
At the same time, a three-colored stream of light arced through the skies, erupting with ferocious energy undulations. The void in its path immediately shattered and even the spatial fragments were wrapped up by it, blasting towards Fang Xingyun.
Fang Xingyun's silver eyes constricted. He could clearly see that within the three-colored light was an arrow with three different-colored dragons intertwined together. The sharp horns were interconnected, forming the tip of the devastating attack. The arrow pierced across the horizon as energy surged all around it. For a brief moment, one could see the figures of three enormous dragons filling the heavens and the earth.
"This is..." Fang Xingyun revealed a look of surprise. "The Academic Federation's lower Destiny-grade Duke Art, the Three Dragons’ Heavenly Banner Canon?!"
As someone with dual dragon resonances, Fang Xingyun was not unfamiliar with this Duke Art. Furthermore, the pieces of the Duke Art were all scattered throughout the sage colleges. After all, they were only at the Communion-grade when separated. However, if the conditions were met, they would be much easier to use and they had great potential for growth. What he was most surprised about was the fact that Li Luo had cultivated the entire Three Dragons’ Heavenly Banner Canon!
Above Fang Xingyun's head, seven majestic and towering Duke Bergfrieds began to roar and dense Duke flowed out of them like a tide, manifesting into a silver dragon.
With a thought, the silver dragon stretched out its massive frame before explosively shooting forward like a torrent through the skies, smashing into the Three Dragons Arrow.
Bang!
Heaven shaking draconic roars reverberated throughout the land and the entire void shook violently.
A few moments later, the energy undulations dissipated and the Three Dragons Arrow was fully blocked by the silver dragon.
"The gap between our cultivation levels is simply too large. Even a low Destiny-grade Duke Art from you isn't much of a threat to me. However, the fact that you've taken a punch from me and are still capable of retaliating does demonstrate how extraordinary a Transcendent Duke is," Fang Xingyun casually said as he looked at the destroyed remnants of the mountains.
"If you were a third-grade Transcendent, perhaps even I would have to temporarily avoid the spotlight and hand over first place of the outer divine continents to you."
As he spoke, a slender and tall figure emerged from the depths of the debris before countless eyes, through the tunnel created by the Three Dragons Arrow.
In his hand was the ancient blade with thunder energy crackling across it. The tip of the blade was flowing with lightning, giving it an unparalleled sharpness that split the void constantly, leaving behind minute spatial rifts around it. Li Luo was back.
The squads from the East Divine Continent began to heave sighs of relief.
Lu Qing'er similarly retracted her look of worry and turned towards the person before her. It was a middle-aged man who was built like a steel tower. His skin had an ash-gray tinge to it that resembled stone.
Atop him were his six Duke Bergfrieds that emanated an intense pressure.
"Does the Astral Sage College have no one else? They actually sent a little girl at the First Duke Stage to stop me?" he said with a hint of dissatisfaction as he looked at Lu Qing'er.
" I'm here because you're impotent," Lu Qing'er indifferently retorted.
"Oh? Could it be that you are like Li Luo, you little wench? Capable of exceeding five grades as a demonic genius?" the man said in a mocking tone. Even Li Luo was at a disadvantage when facing off against Fang Xingyun, so how could Lu Qing'er stop him?
Lu Qing'er shook her head. "I can't compare with him. However, I won't let anyone bother him."
The middle-aged man let out a guffaw as he lost interest in speaking further. The way he saw it, only Li Luo was worthy of attention. Everyone else was simply harmless. They had sent a little first-grade girl to stop him; did they really think that he would show mercy and allow her to buy time?
That would be truly naive thinking.
He would instantly eliminate this girl and then follow up with the rest of the mentors from the Astral Sage College. No matter how amazing Li Luo was, he wouldn't be able to survive at that point.
With that in mind, the middle-aged man's gaze turned sharp and he took a step forward. He vanished, reappearing behind Lu Qing'er like a ghost. Then he raised his fist and punched.
This strike was imbued with immense amounts of dense Divine Mist and gave off a weighty feeling, as though it could shatter even mountains.
Bang!
However, to the man’s surprise, Lu Qing'er showed no signs of planning to dodge this strike, letting it hit her directly.
Was she looking to die? He was taken aback by this. But an instant later, he felt that something was wrong. Just the wind from the fist strike had caused Lu Qing'er's body to shatter like ice, turning into a gust of cold air.
He frowned and raised his head. He saw Lu Qing'er's lithe figure reappear a short distance away.
"Are you playing these little games to try and buy time?" The middle-aged man snorted.
He stepped forward once again, approaching Lu Qing'er slowly. At the same time, astonishing energy undulations radiated from his body, enveloping the entire area.
Even as he neared Lu Qing'er, she remained quietly rooted to the ground. Her eyes were like a calm lake of ice overflowing with coldness. It was at this moment that a dark blue frost appeared on her skin.
The middle-aged man was shocked, and dark blue frost began to appear on his own body.
He frowned, sending a surging wave of resonant power outwards, attempting to purge the cold energy that had invaded his body.
However, his expression suddenly changed. He discovered that no matter what he tried, his resonant power was unable to erase the traces of frost. It continued to spread across his body at a consistent pace. "How's that possible?!" He couldn't fathom what was happening. With a sixth-grade Duke's strength, how was he unable to rid himself of the cold energy of a first-grade Duke?
When he carefully sensed his body, he discovered that the dark blue frost contained dense amounts of source origin, which was what gave it tyrannical might.
"How could a first-grade Duke's ice resonant power contain such dense source origin?" The man's gaze turned unsettled. He paused in his steps and he looked towards Lu Qing'er. At this moment, her entire body was also covered with dark blue frost. Clearly, her methods were so domineering that she couldn't avoid the same fate.
It was a truly pyrrhic move.
