Chapter 1459: The Second Domain Traversal Battle

The six outer divine continents’ second round of drawing left the East Divine Continent in silence. At the same time, the other two regions were similarly looking at them.

"The East Divine Continent actually managed to enter the winners bracket this time?"

"They defeated the Azuresea Divine Continent?"

"That's interesting. The Azuresea Divine Continent has three upper sixth-grade Dukes, so how did the East Divine Continent win?"

"It's said that Li Luo defeated Yan Feng and then, with the aid of Guo Jiufeng, overcame Shui Baoping." 

"Oh? A second-grade Transcendent defeated an upper sixth-grade Duke? Are all Transcendent Dukes that impressive? That's a gap of four grades!"  

"The upper sixth-grade Dukes of the outer divine continent have a weaker foundation. Yan Feng doesn't even possess a middle-grade Mythic Armament, while Li Luo has two high-grade ones. His battle strength is thus exceptional."

"Even so... that's impressive."

"That said, this should be the end. The Thunderflame Divine Continent cannot be compared with the Azuresea Divine Continent. Fang Xingyun is a lower seventh-grade Duke, so he’s far more powerful than Shui Baoping. Even though Li Luo is more monstrous than expected, he can't possibly surpass five grades!"

Countless discussions burst out amongst the crowd. The way the ancient colleges and the inner divine continent sage colleges saw it, the six outer divine continents’ region was like a beginner's battleground. Fang Xingyun, who sat supreme at the top of the outer divine continents, wouldn't even be able to break into the top thirty ranks in the other two regions.

Yet no matter how they looked at it, Fang Xingyun was still a high-grade Duke. 

On the Hallowed Coruscation Ancient College's platform, Sheng Qiao'er walked towards Jiang Qing'e with her squad, saying, "Qing'e, it looks like that little boy of yours is about to be stopped."

Jiang Qing'e coolly replied, "The result isn't out yet. Let's not jump to conclusions."  

"Oh? Do you think he stands a chance? Although Fang Xingyun doesn't have a great foundation, he's still a high-grade Duke," Sheng Qiao'er said with a grin. "Could it be that Li Luo will surpass five grades? I'm afraid even a third-grade Transcendent like you might not be able to do that."

Beside Jiang Qing'e was one of her squad members, Ning Meng, who was still holding her bamboo cup. She took two sips of her drink and then said, "Mentor Qiao'er, Li Luo is very good at making people swallow their words. It is best to not get involved."

Sheng Qiao'er unhappily glared at her. This silly girl was always drinking her coconut juice; could it be that her brain had been addled by the overconsumption of it? 

Jiang Qing'e didn't plan to answer originally, but since the other party had questioned Li Luo's abilities, she felt a little unhappy and retorted, "Li Luo's potential, foundation, and talent are not at all inferior to mine. If I can't do it, it doesn't mean he can't."

Looking at how Jiang Qing'e seemed a little miffed, Sheng Qiao'er hurriedly smiled. "Alright, alright, alright. Let me just see for myself how he plans to turn the tables. It'll make all the shortsighted people of the world open their eyes."

On the Holymist Sage College’s platform, the enchanting Lu Ruyan's charming, peach blossom-like eyes were also directed towards the outer divine continent's area. She was relishing in the East Divine Continent's misfortune.

"My silly sister, you could have been placed in the strong squad of an inner divine continent sage college. Instead, you ran off to an outer divine continent's squad. I just can't fathom what your peabrain is thinking. Perhaps you won’t even be able to enjoy the already small amount of rewards of the outer divine continents can receive. How embarrassing." 

Her gaze then swept across the squads from the East Divine Continent. Based on her senses, the Thunderflame Divine Continent had an overwhelming advantage. She had no idea how the East Divine Continent would have any chance of winning.

Were they planning on relying on the second-grade Transcendent Li Luo? If he were a third-grade Transcendent, then there could’ve been a chance. However, a second-grade was lacking. 

The second round of the outer divine continents’ competition had captured everyone's attention and imaginations.

This naturally was because of Li Luo's outstanding performance. His sheer talent was something that was rarely seen even amongst the geniuses of the Celestial Mirror Pagoda. Everyone wanted to know just what sort of cards he had that would allow him to resist Fang Xingyun, and for how long. 

On the golden platform that oversaw everything, Wang Xuanjin, Elder Bai Yu, and Elder Jin Xi were watching with interest.

It was at this moment that Guo Jiufeng finally returned to the East Divine Continent's platform.

"Vice Principal Guo, couldn't you let us relax a little?" the Sacredspring Sage College's Wang Xu asked unhappily. They had been pitted against the Azuresea Divine Continent in the first round. Now the second round was against the even more domineering Thunderflame Divine Continent. This was basically as much pressure as they could possibly put on themselves. 

Guo Jiufeng rubbed his hands sheepishly. "It's not something I can control."

Since a King had made the arrangements, all he could do was draw the lots blindly, unable to influence things in the slightest.  

Li Luo, on the other hand, looked as though he had come to terms with the result and smiled. "Well, we were bound to meet anyway. Once we cross this hurdle, first place will be ours."

Guo Jiufeng smiled bitterly. "Mentor Li Luo, you are truly optimistic. This will not be easy."

In truth, it wasn't as simple as things not being easy. Guo Jiufeng couldn't even fathom how they could win. He fell silent momentarily before he asked, "If I pitted against Fang Xingyun, I'm afraid I won't even be able to last ten minutes before being eliminated. If you can rush to me to assist during that time, we should be able to put up a fight by working together. However, I have a feeling that they won't give us the opportunity."

The Thunderflame Divine Continent had undoubtedly received the information on their battles against the Azuresea Divine Continent, so they would take precautions to deal with him directly.

In addition, perhaps Fang Xingyun would immediately take action against Li Luo, eliminating any rogue elements.

Li Luo could sense the pressure Guo Jiufeng was under, but he didn't know how he could console him. After all, the next battle would be incomparably difficult. The pressure of facing Fang Xingyun, a high-grade Duke, was incredible.

Hearing that Fang Xingyun had dragon resonances caused him to wonder if that fellow was actually from a branch of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li...

However, that probably wasn't possible. Dragon resonances didn't solely belong to the people of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, and he didn't have the surname Li either. That said, having two dragon resonances meant that he had an advantage over others... but when facing Li Luo, he would be at a terrible disadvantage. Li Luo's lips curled up into a smile.

As he thought through these things, the sky above them, which resembled a chessboard, began to emit pillars of light that descended upon the area. They enveloped the squads from the Thunderflame Divine Continent and the East Divine Continent. 

A moment later, the pillars of light shot up into the air and the squads were all sent into the minor world. The second round of the outer divine continents’ battles had officially begun.
