Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 80 : Darkness (2)

Chapter 80 : Darkness (2)

"The space around deformed darkness contracted and expanded repeatedly, waves of energy traveled throughout the place. The once silent and tranquil darkness began to whisper and compress, finding myself in the midst of all this chaos, darkness consumes me, drowning me in a dream from which I cannot escape...

Everywhere I look, there is nothing, I feel nothing, it's dark and desolate.

Suddenly I feel a tug.

"Wake up, soldier! Do you think it's time to rest?" A clearly angry voice surprised me completely, I quickly opened my eyes, I was in a room, looking confused and feeling lost, just a moment ago I was in my soul but now where am I... "What do you think you're doing, fools?

Wake up already!" Looking at the same man who was shouting like crazy, he had a shiny armor of dark red color, he had a helmet in his right hand perfectly placed on his waist, in his left hand there was an extremely large sword, the man was about 40 years old.

"Get out of your damn bed!" Another voice surprises me and I feel a terrible pain in my spine.

"Arghhgg" kneeling, I try to touch my sore back, feeling an itching like hell, looking angrily at the man, my eyes fill with murderous intent but before I could do anything...

"Forgive him, sir, he's a bit stupid, besides, he's new to this place," a young voice is heard next to me and he bangs my head against the ground.

Bang!

"Hmmp" the man simply turned around and left.

"Man, what do you think you're doing trying to confront a superior?" The winged man beside me says with a serious voice.

Freeing myself from his grip, I raise my head, the boy was no more than 17 years old, he had black hair and black eyes, his face was normal, not attractive at all.

"Who are you?" I ask, furrowing my brow, I don't know who this boy is but somehow he seems familiar to me.

"I think I hit your head hard, sorry about that," the boy says with a slight smile.

"Do you remember me? I'm your best friend Aníbal, we've known each other since we were kids, you know," Aníbal puffs out his chest with pride.

Confused by his heartfelt declaration, I furrow my brow, I had never heard that name before, I don't know who he is, I don't know who I am right now.

For some reason, my mind was a bit clouded, suddenly I look at my body and stand up quickly, I realize that I am shorter than normal, opening my eyes my hands roam all over my body, there are no muscles anywhere, I touch my face and I don't feel it the same way, something is happening...

Aníbal had a strange look on his face as he stared at me, without paying attention to his judging gaze, a thought passes through my mind, "Wait! Who am I, what is my name?" I ask, scared to Aníbal.

"Friend, you're acting weird, what's wrong with you, are you okay?" his voice had a touch of concern but right now I wanted answers.

"What is my name?" I shout at him, a little distressed.

"Calm down, brother, your name is Ariel," Aníbal says.

Did I die? No, wait, it definitely can't be true, am I dreaming?

"Hit me," I tell Aníbal.

He looks at me with worried eyes, "Just hit me!" my patience was running out.

"Fine!" he yells.

Bang!

"Argh"

The pain ran through my whole face which means it's not a dream, this is real, or it seems real, putting my hand on my cheek where I got hit, I open my eyes wide, looking at Aníbal I can deduce that he is a normal person, a cold sweat runs through my whole body, I look at my own body and sink my consciousness into my orb, I was totally surprised to see my orb of a brown color, I have the rank of Base-Bronze, it can't be, what is happening...I try to call the system but nothing, no response.

Looking around me again, I see a large number of boys who are the same age as Aníbal, then I'm also 17 years old at this moment, it's the only thing that hasn't changed apparently.

"Where are we?" I finally ask after digesting all this.

"We're at a training camp," Aníbal says, still looking at me suspiciously.

"Wait, did you say training camp, for what?" I ask very confused, I don't know anything about this.

"For war," Aníbal says, his amused expression turned extremely grim.

"War? Against whom?" I ask very confused, I know nothing about this.

"Against the darkness..." Aníbal says, his voice becoming weaker than before.

Darkness, the word darkness can be related to many things, while darkness brings tranquility and peace, highlighting more the landscape that governs at night, darkness is also represented as despair and evil, although humanity managed to overcome it, the fear of darkness, still deep down every one of us is afraid of the dark after all, it is a fear that transcends time, a primordial fear that every human being has rooted in their soul, when I was about to ask with whom...a voice interrupted my words.

"Come eat!" the same man from the morning could be seen.

Aníbal grabs me by the hand and drags me to the dining room without being able to do anything. The truth is that this body feels very hungry.

After a few minutes of passing through unpainted concrete corridors, the atmosphere, so to speak, was somber and depressing. We arrived at a room where there were long tables adorned with chairs around them, and in the same way, the walls and the floor were gray. There were no colors that could distinguish this place, only gray.

Sitting next to Aníbal at the table, there was a plate with what seemed to be oatmeal. It was gray and a glass of water. There was nothing else, but hunger is greater than any complaint. Without further ado, I ate it all, leaving nothing on the plate. It tasted bitter, flavorless, like all this place.

After eating, they took us to a large empty courtyard. There was nothing around, just several kilometers of desolate land. Looking around, a thought begged not to happen.

"Run!" the coach shouts fiercely.

Cursing, I start to run. Why? I don't know, only my body runs without responding to my thoughts, as if it were programmed, as if it had already happened.

Years passed, 5 years since I appeared in this place. In all this time, I got used to it little by little. I made even more friends with the other boys from the camp. I began to create relationships of friendship and brotherhood with the other boys. I slowly forgot the memories of Anthony. Now I am Ariel.

Yes, I am Ariel, just Ariel.

It should be noted that I reached the gold rank in these 5 years. Since I was a commoner, obviously I didn't have a bloodline. Everyone in this place is commoners like me. We all have the same objective: to go to the war that is happening on the other side of the mountains, and tomorrow is the big day when we will leave.

Yes, we are going to the battlefield to prove our worth as simple commoners, our only goal in life, just as we were taught, so will be our worth.

The next day, they gave us armor not so heavy and some swords, of course, other people had spears or shields. They took us to a kind of room where the floor had a huge sign of words that I didn't understand, taking into account that I didn't know how to read either.

They positioned us all in the middle of the rune, a glow blinded my vision, closing my eyes tightly, I felt as if I were floating in the air, when I opened my eyes, a battlefield welcomed me, it stretched out before me like a desolate and somber landscape, wrapped in an atmosphere of despair and tragedy.

The land was covered with corpses, scattered like fallen leaves in autumn, silent witnesses to the fierce struggle that had taken place. The bodies lay twisted in postures of agony, some frozen in the last breath of the fight, while others showed signs of prolonged suffering.

The cries of agony echoed in the air, filling the battlefield with a chorus of pain and despair. They were heartbreaking laments of those who fought for their lives or who faced the inevitable reality of death. Each cry was a discordant note in this macabre symphony, a constant reminder of the brutality and horror of the conflict.

The sky, darkened by heavy and threatening clouds, wept tears of rain that mingled with blood and mud on the ground. The drops fell like tears of an indignant god, soaking the inert bodies and washing the battlefield in a torrent of sadness and despair.

The smell of death and misery pervaded the air, a nauseating mixture of blood, sweat, and decomposing flesh. It was a penetrating stench that clung to the skin and seeped into the lungs, reminding every soul present of the fragility of life and the brutality of war.

Throughout the battlefield, broken banners and abandoned weapons lay scattered among the fallen bodies, silent witnesses to the violence and chaos that had reigned in this place. Wounded horses whinnied in agony, seeking in vain a shelter that no longer existed, while crows circled in circles over their prey, waiting for their chance to feed on the dead flesh.

Amidst this desolate panorama, despair seized the hearts of those who still survived, their hopes and dreams shattered along with the bodies of their fallen comrades. In each face, one could see the reflection of horror and suffering, a shadow of what they once were, now marked forever by the invisible scars of war.

Looking out over the battlefield with empty eyes, I feel no feeling in my heart, looking towards the horizon, darkness descends slowly from the horizon, spreading like a somber mantle that devours everything in its path. It was a dense and palpable blackness, enveloping the battlefield in a cold and oppressive embrace.

With each passing moment, the darkness intensified, drowning out any trace of light and hope that may have remained.

As the darkness advanced, an ominous pressure seized the air, as if the weight of the entire world rested on the shoulders of those present. It was an overwhelming sensation, an invisible weight that pressed on the chest and made breathing difficult. Every step became harder, every movement felt like a struggle against an invisible force that threatened to drag them into despair.

BOOMM!!! BOOM!! BOOM!!

It was as if the earth itself split in half, thunderous explosions could be heard all over the land, the sky began to cry silently as if space itself was stirring and tearing apart at the same time.

BOMMM! BOOOM! BOOM!!! BOOM!!!!

From the ground emerged a giant serpent, rising towards the dark and somber sky.

BOOOMM!

The entire world was devoured by an infinite darkness.
