Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 107 : Heist

Chapter 107 : Heist

The orb emitted a crystalline blue glow that filled the room with its radiance, as if it contained the very essence of the sea within it. Its surface was smooth and shiny, reflecting the candlelight dazzlingly. As I observed it, I could notice small waves of blue energy flowing within it, as if it were alive and pulsating with a mysterious power.

The runes engraved on its surface gleamed with a soft glow, hinting at its ancient origin and hidden power.

My hands trembled slightly with excitement and awe at the discovery I had made. A high-level orb, I couldn't believe it! The magnitude of what I held in my hands was overwhelming. This orb would not only provide me with rapid progression on my path to higher levels, but it would also revitalize and purify my soul of all its impurities.

High-level orbs were a highly coveted treasure, especially for those who had not yet reached the diamond rank.

Their value in the market was incalculable, and having one in my possession was an opportunity that few had the privilege to experience, the reason being that few could reach the diamond rank, and killing a creature in the corrupt rank was almost impossible for normal people, usually those who had powerful bloodlines had more chances of being able to kill that creature, capable of resisting its terrifying corruption.

Taking the orb delicately, I carefully slid it into my ring, ensuring that it was protected and out of sight from any curious onlookers. Meanwhile, I watched Lysandra with a shared smile, noting her enthusiasm as she meticulously selected mana stones and precious gems.

Mana stones were rare and valuable treasures that could expand our magical energy reserves and enhance our magical abilities. It was essential for any power-seeking mage to seek out and collect these gems whenever possible.

On the other hand, precious gems were also objects of great value and utility. In addition to their undeniable beauty, they could be used in rune creation, as well as in the crafting of armor and weapons, adding magical properties and increasing their resilience and effectiveness in combat.

As we immersed ourselves in our task, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation and excitement for the possibilities that these treasures would bring into our lives.

After hours of meticulous searching and selection, the room that was once filled with valuable treasures now looked desolate, stripped of everything that once adorned it. Our plundering had been complete, not a single item remained behind; we had taken everything.

However, at the back of the room, rested an imposing safe of considerable size. My eyes narrowed as they fixated on it, knowing that within that safe lay the documents we so eagerly sought to find. Lysandra approached my side, her comforting presence and sweet scent filling the air around me. Her eyes gleamed as she stared intently at the box in front of her.

It was then that Lysandra pursed her lips, "It has a mana detector." My thoughts searched for information on this mechanism; this was one of the most sophisticated traps we could encounter. The safe was imbued with the owner's mana, which meant that only he could open it. Any attempt to force it would trigger an explosion, something we definitely wanted to avoid at all costs.

"I think our best option is to take the safe with us. It will take me more than a day to deactivate the mana mechanism, and we don't have time to do it here. We risk getting caught if we stay too long," said Lysandra, seriousness in her voice.

I nodded in agreement with her assessment. My knowledge of these types of devices was limited, so I trusted her judgment. With a decisive gesture, I touched the safe and it instantly disappeared. Looking at my ring, I noticed it was filled to the brim, indicating that it had reached its capacity limit.

The aura of my body expanded, enveloping me first and then Lysandra, who took my hand with a smile. I nodded, returning her gesture with a smile full of affection. Black flames began to dance around us, forming a dark veil that enveloped us completely. The room plunged into a deep darkness, barely illuminated by the faint flames that surrounded us.

In the blink of an eye, our bodies disappeared, as if vanishing into thin air. Any trace of our presence in the room was meticulously erased, thanks to the black flames that eliminated any trace, even our body odor vanished completely. The silence that remained in the room was unsettling, as if we had never been there, leaving behind a palpable void.

****

After a few minutes, several footsteps could be heard echoing throughout the hallway.

Bang!!!!

The door of the room was ripped off its hinges with a loud crash, revealing the figure of an elf with green hair. His eyes scanned the room, but found nothing but a desolate emptiness. Everything had disappeared: the artifacts, the mana stones and precious gems, the armors; everything had been torn from its place.

The elf's expression grew increasingly desperate as he inspected every corner in search of something that was no longer there.

Finally, he reached the spot where the safe was supposed to be. His face darkened even further, and anger reflected in his eyes. His fists clenched tightly, so tight that his knuckles turned white. What would he tell the investors, the clients? What would happen to the upcoming auction, which was scheduled for two months from now?

The questions tormented his mind as he faced the cruel reality of absolute emptiness.

An intense murderous intent emanated from his body, the people behind him trembled in fear, their expressions turned pale, as if all color drained from their faces, they dared not emit a sound.

"USELESS BASTARDS, WHY DO I PAY YOU IF YOU CAN'T EVEN DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY!" spewing fire from his mouth, he turned towards his men, the murderous intent emanated entirely from his body.

Slash!!!

With a single movement of his hands, all the men behind him turned into pieces, they died from a single attack, entrails and limbs flew everywhere, the smell of blood filled the entire room.
