Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 100 : Fairy

Chapter 100 : Fairy

The two figures remained motionless in the same spot, their eyes absorbing every corner of the city with a mixture of wonder and caution. At first glance, this clandestine enclave might appear to be a simple city, but they knew that nothing was as it seemed in this underground world.

Looking at each other, the two figures cloaked in darkness began to move with a stealthy elegance that merged with the very darkness of the night. Their forms seemed to dissolve into the shadows as they curiously observed each person who crossed their path along the narrow, winding alleys.

Throughout the streets, the open shops radiated a magical light that illuminated the interior with a tempting glow. A wide variety of potions and artifacts were displayed on glass tables, each with a price that seemed too good to be true, almost half of what one might expect in the normal market.

The person in charge of sales, hidden behind a smiling white mask, did not reveal their eyes or any other facial features, shrouding their identity in intriguing mystery.

As they continued their journey through the winding streets, the two enigmatic figures encountered a variety of characters that captured the very essence of the clandestine city. Among them, they came across scenes that challenged understanding and morality.

A majestic elf walked with determination, leading a human with a metal collar around his neck. The poor man, whose eyes reflected a desolate emptiness, was dragged by the elf with chains, as if he were an obedient pet. His demeanor seemed to have completely resigned to his fate, as if he had lost all hope in life itself.

The contrast between the grace and nobility of the elf and the submission and despair of the human created a striking image that left the two figures shrouded in shadows silently contemplating the grim panorama unfolding before their eyes.

In this underground world, where the boundaries between domination and submission blurred, interactions among different races and social classes took on an unsettling and puzzling hue.

Several minutes passed before one of the two figures abruptly stopped, their eyes glowing with a reddish tone emitting an unsettling energy. The second figure also halted their advance and turned to their companion with determination.

"What have you seen?" asked the second figure with a simplicity that hinted at a previous conversation on this topic before arriving at this place.

A soft and melodious voice emerged from the first figure: "I sense a strong magical signal coming from that shop," discreetly pointing towards the establishment in front of them.

Following their companion's gaze, they observed a shop larger in size than the previous ones, an imposing construction with walls of a yellowish color. On its facade stood out the title "Dump," an intriguing name that piqued the curiosity of both.

Walking cautiously towards the shop, the two figures opened the door slowly, causing a tinkling that echoed throughout the premises. The interior was filled with shelves housing a vast collection of artifacts and potions, as well as countless scrolls displayed in the place.

However, what caught their attention the most were the creatures locked in cages or glass capsules. With just a quick glance, one could distinguish the presence of a fairy among them. But unlike the romantic depictions in novels, this fairy had a noticeably different appearance.

Her skin was dark black, her eyes completely black without pupils, and her pointed ears resembled those of a creature from another world. The wings unfolding behind her seemed closer to those of a butterfly, tinged with dark and mysterious tones. She wore a black outfit that gleamed with a subtle glow around her.

The fairy's eyes locked intensely with those of the observers, and in that moment, an inexplicable connection seemed to be established between them. A sense of silent communication slipped between them, conveying emotions and thoughts in a way that transcended words.

The presence of this magical being left the visitors completely impressed. Fairies, creatures composed entirely of mana, were revered by nature even more than elves. It was said that they were direct descendants of the ancestral forces of nature and could only be found in the Whispering Forest, a remote region on the opposite end of the Endless Forest, adjacent to the empire.

This forest, unlike the Endless Forest, was free from the corrupted creatures that inhabit it and harbored a diversity of magical animals and hidden treasures in every corner. It was rumored that fairies specifically resided in the Whispering Forest, but capturing a living one was considered an almost impossible achievement.

Fairies are extremely shy beings who rarely decide to show themselves, for this reason they are considered very difficult to find.

The tiny fairy's eyes pierced with intensity onto a particular person, while a mana luminescence covered her eyes, allowing her to discern the powerful affinity of the individual towards darkness. She was a high-grade fairy! In the empire, fairies of this category were considered symbols of nobility and prestige, as they had taken their affinity to the highest possible level.

High-grade fairies possessed extraordinary skill that transcended the limits of the ordinary. If someone managed to strike a deal with one of these exceptional creatures, they could not only maximize their own affinity but also have the possibility to influence the growth and development of the fairy itself.

According to ancient legends passed down through generations, a fairy that ascended to this level could even acquire the ability to adopt a human form. This phenomenon was considered the ultimate culmination of a fairy's evolution, and it was speculated that their control over affinity surpassed any imaginable limit, but of course, the person must also have the same affinity as the fairy.

However, such tales were only that: stories and tales that had been passed down through time. No one could confirm whether these wonders were real or simply the product of collective imagination.

Looking intensely at the fairy I decide that I have to have it in my hands, this will undoubtedly help me even more with my management of mana and aura, it will also have great benefits when I want to learn how to manipulate mana at the imperial academy.
