Chapter 2729 Deathly Vision
Chapter 2729 Deathly Vision
Rui had figured out the secret by process of elimination. Just the speed of death meant that poison and bioweapons were highly unlikely.
It had to be something that directly triggered death and absolute death.
He could rule out most forms of death.
Even something like a heart attack death would not be so smooth and instantaneous.
There was, however, one option that Rui knew that could kill people instantaneously.
The Voidreaper's Death's Symphony.
Of course, the attack had grown obsolete in the Master Realm simply because Masters could hamper vibrations in their bodies rather easily. Their mastery of medium principles of science was passively a lot higher simply by virtue of being in the Master Realm.
However, this comparison led Rui to identify what was most likely the broader means by which his opponent triggered death with a simple touch.
The brain.
For the death to be caused so instantaneously, the target of his technique had to be the brain. There was simply no other option by which he could kill so quickly; not even the lungs and heart would suffice.
Once Rui figured that out, it was simply a processing of more elimination of possibilities based on how quick the death occurred.
It couldn't be due to physical exchange of materials, thus, he had to assume it was some kind of energy.
The first possibility that came to mind was gamma radiation.
But the sheer amount of gamma radiation needed to kill the brain was not something that could be hidden. The secret would have been out of the bag. Thus, it had to be something more subtle and something that utilized the principles of the body to swiftly cause death without brute force.
"When you put all the clues together, you get a hyper-focused and hyper-intense alternating magnetic field subjected to nerves that causes the nervous system to fry the brain in the blink of an eye," Rui asserted with a smug smile. "Am I wrong?"
"As I told you before, I have no idea what you are saying." And yet, the Anti-Life's displeasure became increasingly more evident as Rui continued holding his fist with no problem whatsoever.
He unleashed a flurry of blows towards Rui with visible anger, desperately wanting to kill him where he stood.
And yet—
CLASP!
Rui shifted to Hypertrophic Surge as he caught the other hand, refusing to let go.
Rui smirked as he continued applying a Faraday cage micro-domain to protect his nerves from electromagnetic induction. Perhaps other Martial Artists would have never even dreamed of such a solution, but armed with the knowledge of another world, he could quickly implement this solution with little effort.
The Anti-Life, on the other hand, simply stood there stunned as he watched Rui utterly demolish his most feared technique. He had long dominated the battle his entire life with a Martial Body designed to produce electromagnetic fields at the cost of a healing factor, allowing him to easily implement his Touch of Death.
Because his technique implemented both principles of physics and biology, even Sages were unable to understand exactly how he killed so effortlessly, although they had deeper insights than most. And thus, his reputation soared to sky-high heights as he became known as the Grim Reaper and the Deathbringer. He had rapidly been deemed a Virodohabhasa Seed, and his legend and notoriety had only grown. Everybody had feared his capacity to inflict death.
Nobody had managed to come up with a proper solution.
He bypassed things like domains, physical impediments, and distance with speed and power with powerful systems of thought that helped him reach an extraordinarily high power level.
Short of other monsters like the Omni-Martial, who was able to evade his Touch of Death with sheer godly mastery, there was nobody he couldn't kill.
And then came Rui.
The most favored Virodhabhasa seed.
The Anti-Life was certain he would be able to kill him. And yet—
BOOOOOM!!!
Rui left one of his hands before pummeling with a heavy blow.
"My turn," Rui growled. Chills spread across his entire skin as Rui unleashed an onslaught of thundering blows at full power. The combination of Hypertrophic Surge and the Yin-Yang Spear led to a truly devastating onslaught of attacks.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!
Rui continued blasting him with his full power with one arm while the other arm tightly clasped on the Anti-Life's arm, refusing to let him escape. The Anti-Life was not defensive and did not have the raw power to break away from Rui's ironclad grip.
He was out of options.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!
What followed was an endless onslaught of blows as Rui broke him down blow by blow, inflicting the maximal amount of pain not just physically but also psychologically.
It was bad enough that Rui could lock him in place with his hand without suffering death. It was even worse when he continuously blasted him without any fear whatsoever. It was a sensation that the man was deeply unaccustomed to. He felt like he was mortal.
He felt like he was just another person.
An ordinary person.
An unremarkable man before the extraordinary might of the Dawnbringer.
He had heard tales of his supreme Adaptive Evolution and had always assumed that he would never be able to adaptively evolve to him. He was wrong.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!
Years worth of arrogance was beaten out of him in the span of an hour as Rui mercilessly blasted with tremendous attacks one after another. He could feel himself fading away.
Everything he had been in the past century and a half.
It crumbled.
And even as it crumbled, he came to understand just what manner of being he was. The root of who he was incepted from his earliest memories.
For as long as he could remember, he saw people die.
Born in the cesspool of death known as the Gu, the only thing he had grown up seeing was death every single day. Normally, toddlers were not thrown in the gu, for they were too young for it to positively filter them out.
Yet, he had found himself thrown into one of the umpteen gu rituals that the Gu conducted.
It had shaped his mind forever.
Something in his brain had changed forever.
