The Martial Unity

Chapter 2689 He Missed

Chapter 2689 He Missed

Chapter 2689  He Missed

The blood-red suns in Rui's eyes shined with blinding brightness. From the depths of his mind emerged a tremendously lethal flood of Water, threatening to wipe out every sentient soul. The sheer depth of the intensity of the Martial Embodiment exceeded anything that the Terrampager had ever imagined.

RUMBLE!!!

So much so that a profound realization dawned on the Martial Sage.

'If I don't stop this absurd Martial Embodiment, everybody in the Nest of Terra will die.'

The realization shook him. Instantly, he activated a powerful earth-bending domain, one that would seal away the Embodiment within its shackles, refusing to allow any harm to befall his people. And that was his weakness.

A weakness that Rui saw through in an instant.

Unfortunately for the Terrampager, Rui was not one to forgive weaknesses, not in the state of mind that he was in. With the realization that the Martial Sage wanted to ensure that no harm was to befall his people, his Adaptive Evolution had already commenced.

RUMBLE!!!

The Martial Sage crouched into charging position, deploying his tremendous earth-bending to launch him forward with extraordinary momentum. With the combination of his own physical power, the seismic energy hidden in the entirety of the lands that surrounded them, and the tremendous propulsion of the alternating electromagnetic fields, he accelerated forth with an astronomical velocity.

A single whisper escaped him.

"Terranova Armageddon."

BOOOOOM!!!!!

He flung himself towards Rui with a devastating momentum, all but ready to intercept and take him to headquarters directly.

It should have been over then and there.

It should have ended right away.

It shouldn't have been delayed by even a single millisecond.

It was a Martial Sage against a Martial Master.

Capture was surely inevitable.

And yet, what followed shocked the Terrampager to his core.

WHOOSH!!!

His eyes widened with shock.

He missed.

For the first time in two centuries, he actually missed a stationary target, having been several inches away from getting his hands on the Dawnbringer.

BOOOOM!!!!

He paused his momentum, displacing a mountain range's worth of land with the sheer amount of momentum he had built up.

He gritted his teeth with a humiliated expression as he crouched once more, launching himself at Rui once more with careful aim. Once more, a tremendous amount of seismic energy hidden within Gaia's embrace propelled him forward along with a titanic velocity.

And yet again, he missed.

WHOOSH!!!

He gritted his teeth as his fingers were inches away from reaching their target.

And yet, they never did.

He immediately bounced back, launching himself Rui at once more, this time with even greater caution and even greater speed.

And yet again, he missed.

He missed three times in a row.

In that time, Rui hadn't moved so much as an inch.

He didn't need to.

Not as long as he sabotaged the man's aim with timely interventions to his acceleration. The very moment that the Terran Sage had first crouched, Rui knew exactly what kind of Martial Artist he was dealing with. This was a Martial Artist who prepared to dump all his power into a single attack, charging with his opponent everything he had.

He knew he couldn't tank it.

With such a wide and large attack, it would have been inefficient to evade it, requiring more movement speed than Rui was capable of generating. Thus, the solution that the Forge of Creation had much greater finesse and was much more antithetical to his opponent.

"Aimpocalypse."

WHOOSH!!!

The Terrampager missed him once more, much to his deepest frustration and humiliation, while Rui didn't so much as move an inch.

All it took was the most minute of sabotages.

The most minute of sabotages to the man's launch at the right time and the right moment to yield a sufficient deviation from the original target.

WHOOSH!!!

The Terrampager knew that Rui was doing something.

And yet, he couldn't even begin to fathom how Rui was sabotaging his technique without him even realizing it. This was where the Scriptures of Terra came in.

With the optimal path of action, Rui was able to seamlessly and swiftly exert just the bare minimum exertions of force. Without his newest system of thought, Rui would not have been able to sabotage the Terran Sage's aim without him noticing, and he would not have been able to do it quickly enough.

WHOOSH!!!

"Enough with this humiliation!" the Terrampager gritted his teeth, preparing yet another launch.

The seamless and smooth transmission of power through the earth allowed Rui to exert just the minimal amount of power needed to sabotage the Martial Sage's approach with furtive stealth, ensuring that the Terrampager never once caught on to his sabotage maneuver.

The Scriptures of Terra facilitated a level of speed and stealth in his earth-bending that Rui didn't even know was possible prior.

Additionally, with the Gigabrain-empowered Temporal Disharmony, he was able to perceive the Terrampager well enough to choose the right moment and the right exertion of power. With the principle of magnified deviation, Rui only needed to cause a small deviation in the angle at the very inception for it to magnify by the time the Sage reached.

And thus, he was able to sabotage the Terran Sage's approach each time.

WHOOSH!!!

Inches away from grabbing him, the Terran Sage failed over and over.

And yet, each time, he simply got up and readjusted his position before launching himself again and again.

BOOOOOM!!!

The destruction he left behind was tremendous. Rui could tell he was even going as far as to exert his power to disperse his momentum safely without bringing harm to the inhabitants of the Nest of Terra.

It was this factor that not only weakened his power but also left weaknesses that Rui exploited.

He lifted his foot up, stomping it to the ground.

"Domain Driller."

With the Scriptures of Terra, he exerted all the power that he was able to, allowing it to smoothly be transmitted through the bedrock, crashing against the domain that the Martial Sage had created.

The Terrampager's eyes flared with anger.

"Fine, I will stop holding back."

RUMBLE!!!
