Chapter 787  The Champion Of The Tournament [Part 2]

"H-How?" Clark asked as he slowly propped himself on the ground. "How can you be so strong? You can no longer use magic, so why?!"

"That's a trade secret," Erica replied before walking toward the staff embedded into the ground.

She then placed her hand on its handle and pulled it out of the ground with ease.

"Deactivate Anti-Magic Field," Erica stated.

The Magical Staff, who also reacted to the voice command of its wielder, took down the Anti Magic Field, making Erica feel magic flow throughout her body again.

Summoning her own staff, the Sorceress gently tapped its end on the ground, dispersing the cold mists that surrounded the arena, revealing the two Wanderers from within.

When Aaron and Claude saw that Clark was on the ground, seriously injured, the two of them frowned at the same time.

However, when their gaze landed on Erica, who was holding Aaron's staff in her hands, Claude's face lost all of its color.

"Hellfire Annihilation!" Erica said.

Immediately, swirling flames surrounded her body before it expanded outward like a tide.

Clark immediately summoned a shield to protect himself from the attack, but he was still once again sent flying toward the barrier.

A pained cry escaped his lips a second time as he fell on the arena face first.

Everyone watched with bated breath as Erica summoned a giant flaming spear, its tip pointed in Clark's direction.

"Ignis Lance."

A powerful explosion erupted in the arena, making many people cry out in alarm due to how loud the explosion was.

Due to the explosion, the arena was covered in white smoke, preventing anyone from seeing the aftermath.

Suddenly, a cracking sound reached everyone's ears.

The barrier that surrounded the arena shattered into countless pieces, disappearing into particles of light.

A moment later, a gust of wind blew and dispersed the smoke, allowing everyone to see the result of the Sorceress deadly attack.

Clark was lying in the safe zone located several meters away from the arena.

Due to Erica's powerful attack, the young man was instantly teleported away to safety, preventing him from suffering more injuries in battle.

When Thirteen saw this, he raised his hand and finally declared the winner of the tournament.

"The Champion of the League of Myths and Legends is none other than… Erica Leventis!"

Everyone was prepared to cheer for the Champion, but Zion's declaration left them all speechless.

Even Arthur, who wished that someone from the Leventis Family would become the Champion of the Tournament, had his mouth wide open in shock.

Perhaps due to the silence, everyone clearly heard the sound of someone clapping in the audience stand.

This made all of them glance in the direction where the sound was coming from. There, they saw a young lady with long blonde hair, applauding the Champion of the tournament.

Those who were close to Zion recognized her right away.

She was none other than Sherry, who was always seen around Thirteen and Erica.

Just like a small spark that brought flames to life, other people started clapping as well.

Soon, a thunderous applause spread in the arena, making Erica, who was standing on top of it, smile from ear to ear.

She once again embedded Clark's staff on the ground and raised her fist to the heavens, making the audience cheer louder.

Lawrence and Tristan, who finally snapped out of their gaze, laughed and clapped as well.

"The kid called dibs on the Champion as if it was a natural thing to do," Lawrence chuckled.

"Well, I'm sure Zion did this to prevent flies from hovering above Erica," Tristan commented. "Since she had asked him to be her fiance, calling him Erica Leventis isn't wrong either."

"But they're not even married yet."

"People will nitpick, but they can't do anything about it."

Lawrence thought for a while and nodded in agreement.

Indeed, after Erica became the Champion of the tournament, it would only be natural that she would be approached by many people, asking her hand in marriage.

If that didn't work, they would directly approach her family.

Those with malicious intentions might even kidnap her parents, using them as hostages to make her do their bidding.

Unfortunately for them, Zion had already dealt with this matter a week ago.

He had already taken Erica's parents under his wing, including her little sister, and relocated them to a safe house, where they would not be targeted by anyone.

The reason why he had called the Sorceress, Erica Leventis, was due to her request that if she won the tournament, Zion would call her in that manner.

Naturally, Zion had no objections to this. Despite him still not understanding what it was like to fall in love romantically, he had already considered Erica as one of his people.

Also, he deemed that learning about love would allow him to better understand it and therefore eliminate any weakness attached to this particular emotion.

Aaron looked at Clark, who was lying on the ground, before shifting his gaze at Claude, who looked very devastated.

"Kick him out of the family," Aaron ordered. "If I find out that you tried to help him in any way, I will disown you as well."

The Monarch then left the VIP Room without even giving his son and grandson a second glance.

For him, those who couldn't add value to the family weren't important.

The only reason why he kept Claude as a Patriarch was that the latter was good in administrative duties, allowing the Aaron Clan to function properly.

Of course, once he deemed that Claude no longer had any use, he would also kick him out to serve as an example to the rest of his relatives, who only served as chess pieces in his eyes.

While everyone was celebrating Erica's victory, Claude felt as if his world was crumbling down.

The cheers that reverberated in the colosseum sounded like jeers to him, making him feel depressed.

On the other hand, Clark, who was being tended by the Medics, felt as if he had been liberated from the shackles that bound his body.

He fought with everything he had, and despite being unable to understand why and how he lost, the feeling of a burden leaving him made him sigh in relief.

""Erica!""

""Erica!""

""Erica!""

""Erica!""

""Erica!""

The audience kept on chanting Erica's name as if they wanted her to give a speech.

Because of this, she flew to the stage and accepted the Microphone that Zion handed to her.

"Everyone, thank you for your support!" Erica said. "This victory is not only my victory, but also the victory of all the Wanderers who participated in this tournament and those who had successfully returned from Solterra.

"Regardless of where we are, regardless of who we are, all of us wander under the same skies! So, remember this when you feel that you are feeling lost."

Erica paused, to make sure that everyone was paying attention to what she was going to say next.

"A wanderer's path is never straight, but neither is their heart confined to one direction. Fear of getting lost is fear of the unknown, and the unknown is where the greatest adventures begin."

The young lady then held Zion's hand and raised it high up in the air for everyone to see.

"Perhaps when you wander to these unknown places, you will meet someone who will change your life forever," Erica said with a smile. "So, do not be afraid, for we are Wanderers, and we do not wander alone!"

Another round of cheering spread in the arena, most especially the Wanderers present, who were all touched by Erica's words.

Some of them were already adults and also found their significant other during their Wanderings.

Gerald and Alessia held each other's hands before sharing a kiss with each other, making Mikhail, Shasha, Remi, and Rhia look at them with smiles on their faces.

"Since when did you become a Life Coach?" Thirteen asked in a teasing tone after he made sure that the microphone was turned off. "After spending time with you, it is only natural to pick up a thing or two," Erica replied. "So, make sure to learn more about me and Sherry as well, okay?"

The teenage boy smiled faintly before giving Erica's hand a light squeeze.

"No promises," Thirteen said.

Instead of being angry, Erica only giggled because, despite his attempt to downplay his words, she knew with utmost certainty that the young man would also do his best to know them better.

The long tournament had finally come to an end, but for some, it was only the beginning.

The various factions would definitely start making a move, and their battleground would be none other than the Cygni Continent, whose fate lay in the hands of the Wanderers, who wished to protect their world from those who wished to destroy it.
