Chapter 122 Blue Owl, Making an Entrance (Part Three)_2
Chapter 122 Blue Owl, Making an Entrance (Part Three)_2
But here, zombies had become the superheroes they feared.
"Did we run into that red and blue kid?"
"Must have, I saw him jump in front of the truck in the last few seconds."
"Stupid, actually blocking the front of the truck."
"What the hell are Li Fu and Lester doing? Why aren't they driving? If this keeps up, reinforcements from the Superhero Association will catch up!"
"Dragging this out isn't going to work. I'll get out and have a look; you guys cover me."
The thug hiding on the far right moved forward as he spoke, his gaze and gun barrel moving in sync, observing the scene outside the carriage.
However, the next moment, a loud bang suddenly erupted from within the cargo box.

Bang!
The six thugs pulled their triggers almost simultaneously, but still, no one appeared at the entrance of the cargo box; their bullets hit nothing but air.
In that instant, they realized that the loud bang had come from behind them.
That is, from the partition between the cargo box and the driver's seat!
The two thugs at the rear snapped their heads around to check the partition, and as they did so, two metal fists burst through the partition, creating two holes.
Immediately two arms reached through the holes in the partition, each grabbing a thug's head and smashing them together like cymbals.
Crack!
One could faintly hear the sound of skulls fracturing as their heads were subjected to the squeeze of the metal gloves and the impact of the other head.
The force was strong enough to knock them out instantly.
The remaining four thugs in the cargo box watched these two fall, stunned for a second, then swiftly aimed their guns at the partition and pulled their triggers together!
Bang bang bang bang bang!
However, a moment before they fired, the two arms had already withdrawn from the holes in the partition, disappearing back inside the cargo box.
The muzzles of the four AK-47s spat flames as the copper-plated bullets riddled the partition with holes, allowing them to see the situation on the driver's side.
Peering through the holes, they saw Li Fu slumped over the seat.
But that wasn't all; the bullets they just fired had pierced through the backrest, hitting Li Fu's back as well, leaving it riddled with countless holes as blood poured out.
Apart from Li Fu, there was no other figure to be seen on the driver's side.
"Li Fu, we hit Li Fu!" one of the thugs shouted.
"Damn, who's driving now!"
"What the hell was that monster just now?"
"Damn it, supposed to be superheroes, acting like ghosts..."
"Stop thinking about it; we have to survive."
"Li Er, keep an eye on the entrance to the cargo box; I'll watch this side by the driver's seat. Be careful, he could burst out from the front or back any time..."
Before he could finish speaking, the speaking thug suddenly heard a loud noise from above. He looked up sharply to see the steel roof of the cargo box being smashed open by an iron fist.
Then, two hands clad in metal gloves reached in, grabbing his head and twisting it violently to the right.
With a "crack!", the thug's neck spun a full circle, his eyes lost their luster, and he fell to the ground, lifeless.
At this moment, only the last three thugs remained in the carriage.
Looking at the thug on the ground with his neck twisted, fear enveloped their hearts. They crazily raised their heads and pulled the trigger at the roof of the truck.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The deafening gunshots filled the cramped cargo hold, the masks on the three faces were lit up red by the muzzle flashes, as their legs trembled wildly.
The expressions behind their masks were almost contorted.
The beast with red and blue stripes was closing in, eyeing them predatorily. It could attack from anywhere: through the roof, from the driver's seat, or even from the ground.
But it could never be from the truck's front entrance because it preferred surprise attacks!
However, the next moment, a red and blue phantom catapulted in from the entrance of the truck. He reached out with his right hand, grabbed a thug, raised his fist and shattered his ribcage, and kicked him in the belly to make him fall into his arms.
The other two thugs came to their senses, immediately lowered their gun barrels, no longer firing at the ceiling, but aimed at the beast and pulled the trigger.
Blue Owl, however, lifted the corpse of the thug in his arms and used its back to block all the bullets.
The bullet's energy was drastically reduced after passing through the body, barely even registering against his battle suit.
Blue Owl carried the body forward in a rush, blocking bullets while his battle suit's arm blades sliced open the belly of a thug, splashing blood onto his mask.
The thug howled as he fell, Blue Owl followed up with a kick that sent him into the partition, knocking him unconscious.
Then, he threw the corpse from his arms at the last awake thug, pinning him to the ground. The AK-47 flew from his hands, landing on the floor of the truck.
Blue Owl shook his arm to flick the fresh blood off the steel arm blade and then moved towards the last, unarmed thug.
The thug desperately pushed the corpse off himself, his trembling pupils reflecting the red and blue monster.
The monster approached step by step, the bird-like beak at the center seeming like the grim reaper's scythe, inching ever closer to the thug's eyes.
"Monster, monster—! Do you call yourself a superhero?!"
The thug propped himself up with his hands, crawling backward and howled.
"To be fair, I am just imitating Qing Ya's methods," Blue Owl said nonchalantly. "Over a decade ago, when Qing Ya was still going through his rebellious phase, he once said, 'The key to defeating your opponents is to make them fear you, to make them lose their judgment', get it?"
As Blue Owl spoke loosely, he casually hurled a punch that knocked out two or three teeth from the thug's face, leaving him unconscious on the floor.
"So tiring, this should be done with... Superheroes can't kill, that's the most troubling part."
Blue Owl muttered to himself, hands on hips, rotating his neck to look around, when he suddenly noticed that Li Fu sitting in the passenger seat had been shot full of holes, with blood gushing out.
"Alright then... there are occasional accidents."
Blue Owl tilted his head, quipping to the air, about to bend down to hoist the unconscious criminals onto his shoulder when he suddenly sensed something off.
He abruptly turned his head, his eyes behind the mask looking toward the partition of the truck, and through the shattered barrier saw the scene at the crossroads.
In front of the truck, a bloodied figure slowly rose from the ground, his arms twisting and morphing into chainsaws.
The chains on the saw bodies were spinning at high speed, grinding against the air to produce blue sparks.

[Identity: In order to prevent superhuman criminals, the Anomaly Control Bureau once conducted a "Human Modification" project, signing contracts with death row inmates in prison, allowing them to volunteer for the project.

"To be hit by a truck and still not dead... No worries then. Looks like there's a boss battle waiting."
Blue Owl commented, heaving a sigh, nonchalantly dropping the thug he had just lifted onto his shoulder, and wiping off the remaining blood from his arm blade.
"I'll just use you for practice."
