Chapter 819: Battle Of Rank Three

Chapter 819: Battle Of Rank Three

The fact that even Tourmaline had readied herself for battle showed just how aggressive the incoming assault by the Wild Gorilla Army was.

Sein was not worried because he knew that the demigod-level dragon turtle could take care of herself, so for now, his focus was on the two foes in front of him.

The demigod-level Kingfisher, who had just been standing by Sein’s side, spread its wings and soared into the sky to confront a demigod-level Wild Gorilla that was relentlessly hammering the magic shield of the fortress base.

The Kingfisher had to intercept and engage the enemy to prevent further damage.

Meanwhile, Sia, Sein’s mother-in-law and a Rank Three knight, faced off against a Wild Gorilla soldier who was surprisingly a female.

This red-furred Wild Gorilla, likely a rare variant within her clan, met Sia’s charge with an equally ferocious resolve.

The Wild Gorillas revered physical strength and mastery over muscle control, and Sia embodied violence down to her very bones.

The clash between two Rank Three beings sent shockwaves that forced nearby lower-ranking combatants to scatter for safety.

On a chaotic battlefield like this, getting injured could be disastrous.

Sein’s battle with the two Rank Three Wild Gorillas, however, was far more calculated and tactical compared to the raw, brutal contest between Sia and the red-furred gorilla.

His opponents were covered in scars, and one of them had only one remaining eye.

The deep scars were their badges of honor, testifying to their prowess as elite soldiers.

The one-eyed gorilla’s remaining right eye gleamed with a fierce determination and an unmistakable glimmer of “calm resolve”.

The Wild Gorilla Army attacking Sandstorm World was anything but ordinary. Many among them were direct descendants of the Rank Six Wild Gorilla God, making them elite fighters.

The two Rank Three Wild Gorillas facing Sein were the Wild Gorilla God’s subordinates.

With years of warfare experience, they were not just brawny brutes but also skilled strategists.

It was a common misconception that the truly powerful Wild Gorillas relied solely on brute strength.

In truth, almost none of the Rank Four and higher Gorilla Gods were fools.

They were only more impulsive and aggressive than that of other Rank Four or higher beings from different planes.

Sein’s recent performance in battle had proven that he was not inferior to an ordinary Rank Three creature in terms of combat power.

More importantly, the destructive power of magic made him especially suited for decimating legions of lower-ranking enemies.

The Wild Gorilla Clan, having lost their home plane, was struggling with a dwindling number of purebred soldiers—troops that were now nearly impossible to replace.

The two Rank Three Wild Gorilla soldiers, both being leaders, could not allow Sein to continue slaughtering their subordinates.

The coordinated assault of these experienced Rank Three soldiers put immense pressure on Sein.

Forced to abandon his spellcasting, he activated his Flame Devil form to confront the advancing Rank Three foes.

Fortunately, Sein was not alone. He did not have to face both Rank Three enemies by himself.

Alongside him were Natalya and Reina, who had remained close by, and Leena, who was advancing on the skeletal dragon, Sanchez.

However, before Leena could reach Sein, her path was blocked by another demigod-level Wild Gorilla, compelling Sanchez to engage it first.

This elite force of the Wild Gorilla Clan was unlike any Sein had encountered before. It comprised more Rank One and higher-ranking combatants, as well as demigods than he had ever seen in the Wild Gorilla World.

From where Sein stood on the western side of the fortress base, he could spot over a dozen Rank Three Wild Gorillas alone.

Without the timely intervention of the plant legions, undead troops, and magic beast forces, the area would have already fallen despite the combined efforts of Sein and the Divine Tower of Verdant Spring troops originally stationed there.

“I’ll take care of this one. Let’s end this quickly,” said Reina, whose imposing figure resembled a mountain of flesh.

Even before meeting Sein, Reina had possessed the strength to battle Rank Three beings, earning her the title of the “Order of the Steel Fist’s genius”.

But after she met Sein and began participating in his grueling body-tempering experiments, her strength growth entered an explosive phase.

The body-tempering and strict fasting regimens were excruciatingly painful, but the results were undeniable.

Reina’s strength and physical abilities soared to new heights.

Without Sein’s guidance, it would have taken her several hundred years—possibly longer—to achieve the same level of passive evolution she possessed now.

The muscle and skin tissue enhancements she gained through specialized body-tempering experiments were beyond what ordinary training and combat could have provided.

With a resounding roar, Reina’s formidable physique, already reminiscent of a mountain of flesh, expanded further.

A radiant yellow beam of elemental energy glowed from her shoulders, and within moments, she was encased in half-body metal armor.

In her hands, she wielded an enormous octagonal hammer with a diameter spanning several meters.

The shoulder armor Reina wore had been crafted by Sein, and the effort he put into it rivaled that of the Dim Star magic robe.

Equipped with her heavy weapon and durable armor, Reina was an unstoppable force—a living war machine on the battlefield.

Sein recalled the power of Reina’s Hurricane Hammer, a move capable of devastation on par with a Rank Three mage’s area-of-effect magic.

The ground quaked as Reina charged toward one of the Rank Three Wild Gorillas.

A Rank Two Shadow Leopard nearby, its purple eyes wide with astonishment, froze as Reina thundered past like a moving metal fortress.

Though the Shadow Leopard, with its imposing seven-meter length, was a formidable magic beast in its own right, it was debatable which of the two appeared more like a true magic beast.

The fact that Reina told Sein she would “handle” the Rank Three Wild Gorilla, rather than merely “hold it back”, was a clear indication of her confidence in her own strength.

Sein, bolstered by the breakthroughs in his recent bloodline experiments and the newfound insights of pyro elemental energy he had gained during his time in Wild Gorilla World, felt just as assured of his capabilities.

Turning to Yuri and Natalya, he commanded, “Support the others; leave this Rank Three Wild Gorilla to me!”

His opponent was the one-eyed Wild Gorilla.

Gripping a spiked club, it began to accelerate as it closed the distance between them, charging with lethal intent.

Sein transformed into his Flame Demon form, brandished his magic rod, and prepared to meet the charge head-on.

Yuri, Sein’s loyal assistant, had never once disobeyed his orders in all the years they had been together.

Though she followed his directive now, concern for him lingered.

She kept a watchful eye on Sein while skillfully engaging nearby Wild Gorilla soldiers.

Piloting the Burning Flame Unit and commanding three mechas, her bursts of power rivaled those of a mage, disregarding any concerns about energy consumption.

While Yuri complied reluctantly, Natalya blatantly ignored his command.

As a Magus World knight, protecting mages was part of her duty, and there was no way she would let her husband fight alone.

With a fierce growl, Natalya hefted her heavy sword and charged after Sein, aiming to confront the one-eyed Wild Gorilla alongside him.

Natalya’s battle style was similar to that of her mother, Sia. The two seemed almost like the same person on the battlefield.

It was evident that Natalya’s success as a talented knight owed more to her mother’s teachings than to those of her father, Wilson.
