Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 510 : 509: Who Do You Think You Are?

Chapter 510 : 509: Who Do You Think You Are?

Corey's eyes remained cold and focused as the hexagonal barriers surrounding Pamela detonated.

It wasn't a chaotic explosion. It was precise, controlled, and devastating.

One of the things Corey made sure to include in the upgrade of Hexagon Barriers to Hexagon Nova Shield was that he should be able to control the explosion of his Hexagon barriers.

If not, Corey was certain that the explosion before him would have killed him also.

The energy expanded and collapsed inward, creating a focused nova of pure force that engulfed Pamela entirely. The resulting shockwave rippled outward, causing the ground to quake violently, and cracking the already broken battlefield while molten debris flew haphazardly.

Pamela barely had time to react. Her battered body, already pushed beyond its limits, was enveloped in the cascading waves of energy. The heat, the force, the sheer destructive power. Everything was suffocating, unrelenting, and too much for her.

Pamela's scream of rage, frustration, and pain pierced through the chaos as the explosions tore through her defences, leaving her exposed to the brunt of the attack.

She was hurled backwards like a ragdoll. Her already battered body collided with the scorched ground before skidding across the molten earth, however, her body came to an abrupt stop almost as immediately as she was hurled the moment she slammed into a hexagon barrier.

If Pamela could see what was around her, she would realize that she was currently in a cage made entirely of hexagon barriers. This cage prevented her body from being blasted away by the explosion and sea of flames.

Corey stood unmoving through the smoke and ash, his pure white eyes staring ahead with calm indifference. His grip on his axe was tight, however, his posture was relaxed but steady.

As the last remnants of the nova dissipated, Corey's gaze settled on her.

Pamela was alive… But barely.

Pamela was flat on the ground with her head facing the sky, and her spear discarded to her side. Her beauty which could be compared to his was gone, replaced by a horrifying sight that made even Corey pause for a fraction of a second.

Her face, so perfect and ethereal before, was burned beyond recognition. The left side of her body was charred, the skin blackened and peeling, while her right arm was completely gone, severed at the shoulder. Her body was mangled, and her skin littered with burns and open wounds that oozed blood.

Blood pooled beneath her, soaking into the broken ground.

But even as her body screamed in pain and her consciousness struggled to stay awake, Pamela's infinity-marked silver eyes still glowed faintly, their light flickered like a dying ember.

Corey approached slowly, his axe glinting faintly in the light of the molten ground. He said nothing, and his gaze was fixed on Pamela as she struggled to face him.

"You…" Pamela's voice was hoarse, barely audible, but it carried a defiance that refused to die. "You think… this is enough… to stop me?"

Corey's grip on his axe tightened slightly due to his surprise at Pamela's tenacity and determination, but his expression remained stoic.

Pamela coughed violently, and blood spilt from her lips as she struggled to rise. Her arms trembled as she pushed herself onto her knees, and more blood dripped from her lips, pooling on the fractured ground beneath her.

To Corey's surprise and disbelief, Pamela had a smile on her face.

She forced herself to her feet, but her legs trembled intensely, they were barely able to support her weight. But she stood, with her Destroyer clutched in her remaining hand.

"You… can't win… Corey…" she rasped with her infinity-marked silver eyes locking onto his.

Corey tilted his head slightly with the same indifferent expression. "You're already dead. Why keep fighting?"

Pamela didn't answer, instead, she lunged forward. Her movements were clumsy but they were fueled by sheer willpower. She swung her Destroyer at Corey which glowed faintly with the last remnants of her mana.

Corey sidestepped effortlessly. His body moved with a calm precision that made Pamela's desperation seem almost pitiful.

Before she could recover, Corey stepped forward with his axe already raised.

"I warned you," Corey said softly, his voice devoid of emotion.

His Genesis Armament descended in a clean, brutal arc that sliced through Pamela's chest with lethal precision.

Pamela's eyes widened slightly, her spear slowly slipping from her grasp. For a moment, she stood motionless, as though her body hadn't yet realized it was dead. Then, she crumpled to the ground, her spear clattering beside her.

Pamela died.

Corey exhaled softly, his gaze lingering on her motionless corpse. He didn't feel satisfaction or regret, only the cold necessity of survival.

Although she had angered him with her previous words, that was not enough to spark his wrath.

"You should've stopped."

He muttered while turning away without taking another glance at her corpse. He began walking toward Zal'Zerael's colossal corpse which lay in the distance like a mountain, its massive frame radiating a faint, residual energy that made Corey's skin prickle.

'Another infinity crystal… and this time around, it's the lightning infinity crystal… Once I have it, I won't have to go through a tribulation of hell.'

Corey had this thought as he approached the colossal corpse of the draconic abomination, but before he could reach it, a voice stopped him in his tracks.

"Do you really think it's that easy to kill me?"

'IMPOSSIBLE!'

Corey froze, and his body instantly tensed as he gripped his axe tightly. The voice was unmistakable, yet impossible.

Slowly, he turned, his white eyes scanning everything around him with sharp cold eyes. However, Pamela's broken, bloodied body still lay on the ground where he had left it, motionless and lifeless.

And yet, her voice rang out again, louder this time, echoing through the air around him.

"You're special, Corey… most likely more special than me… but you're way too weak to ever think of defeating me… Who do you think you are to try and take what is rightfully mine?"

Before his pure white eyes, glowing runes began to form around Pamela's corpse, spiralling upward in an intricate pattern. The air grew heavy, and thick with a strange, oppressive energy that made Corey's instincts scream.

"Runic Art: Rebirth's Vow."
