Chapter 508 : 507: Boom

Chapter 508 : 507: Boom

"Do you want to kill me… Corey?"

Standing approximately ten meters to Pamela's back was Corey.

His clothes were tattered and bloodied, and parts of his thighs, shoulder, and torso were exposed.

In his right hand was his Genesis Armament, and his pure white eyes were unfathomably calm and emotionless as he stared at the broken, battered, and gravely injured Pamela.

He was not surprised or shocked by the fact that she sensed him since he did not hide his presence. However, what he was extremely shocked and surprised about was the scale of destruction around him.

He looked around him, and if not for his unique eyes which could see extremely far distances, he was certain that he would not be able to see the end of the destruction around him.

'Even if I use all that I have, I would not be able to cause this sort of destruction at all.'

Corey shifted his gaze to the colossal corpse in the distance, and when he saw the corpse, he could feel goosebumps forming on his skin.

'It's dead but its mere presence is enough to give me chills… Would I have been able to defeat it?'

Although Corey had this thought, he was certain that unless the draconic abomination was arrogant or underestimated him, then he would not be able to defeat it.

'Even if I tried to summon another Supreme Tribulation to kill it, I doubt it'd work because of the lightning infinity crystal in it… I don't think I'd have won against it.'

'Also… is the Capra King stronger or is this… draconic abomination in front of me stronger?'

Corey exhaled slightly as he decided to push all unnecessary thoughts to the back of his head.

Although he was shaken by the scale of destruction around him, and by the fact that Pamela was able to come out alive against a being that was equivalent to a calamity, Corey was calm and focused.

He shifted his gaze back to Pamela, his pure white eyes gazed at Pamela's back for a few seconds, and then he spoke.

"Why would I kill you?"

Pamela chuckled, however, her chuckle was extremely strained and rough.

"Let's not deceive ourselves, Corey, we both know that Zal over there has an extremely powerful item in it… We both want it, and I doubt either of us would choose to leave the item for the other."

Corey's gaze instantly sharpened and became frighteningly cold the instant he heard her words.

"How did you get that name?"

Corey's voice was so cold to the point that even Pamela who was usually arrogant, playful, and nonchalant felt a chill run across her spine.

"Oh," Pamela slowly turned with difficulty to face Corey. "I forgot that your name in the Underworld is Smile Reaper… My bad."

A small smile appeared on Pamela's lips, and Corey tightened his grip on his axe to the extreme. A million questions and thoughts appeared in his mind, but his expression remained stoic, and he never asked a single question to the one person he was extremely angry at.

"How did you get that name?"

He spoke once again, and this time around, he spoke slowly and with a deadly calm tone. But Pamela chuckled softly after he spoke.

"Your status window… And the runes showed me."

Corey's grip on his axe tightened, and his eyes became extremely cold as he stared into Pamela's black eyes.

"Your expression is stoic but I can see the rage in your eyes… Are you angry that I revealed your actual name?"

Corey remained silent, and Pamela smiled.

"It's the silent treatment, huh?"

Corey did not respond for a few seconds, and then he shifted his gaze to Zal'Zerael's colossal corpse in the distance. He stared at it for a few seconds, and then he looked back at Pamela.

"I'll take what I want from its corpse, while you can have the entire corpse since you killed it."

Pamela blinked and tilted her head in slight surprise and bafflement.

"How nice of you, Corey. I never knew you could be so benevolent," Pamela mocked, and Corey moved his axe slightly with cold eyes.

"The only reason I'm not killing you is because you helped us out. If not-"

"Us?"

Pamela cut Corey off with a smile. She tilted her head to the left, and then to the right, and then she blinked repeatedly.

"I don't see any… 'us'..." A mocking smile appeared on Pamela's lips, and then she raised her brows. "Didn't you fail to protect her in your fight against that Dreadkeeper?"

"I'm certain I'd have done a better job in keeping her alive if I was in your shoes. I mean, Not only did I battle and kill an Ascendant, but I also battled and killed a Power… How weak can you be that you cannot even protect your ally against a mere Dreadkeeper?"

Pamela's smile widened slightly and Corey's fingers twitched. He failed to control himself and a sliver of his killing intent spilled outward.

Pamela shivered with a mocking smile when she felt the killing intent, "Oooouuuu… Such powerful killing intent."

"Also, by the way, stop treating me like a fool. The only reason why you're not killing me is not because I helped you out, it's because you're wary of me and you can sense that I can still fight… You're wary of what I can do when I'm cornered."

"If you think- Cough! Cough! Cough!"

Pamela coughed out multiple mouthfuls of steaming hot blood, but Corey stood still and just watched with cold eyes.

"Sigh."

Pamela released a tired sigh while wiping the blood from her mouth, and then she stared at Corey with narrowed eyes.

"I thought you were going to take the opportunity to kill me."

Pamela's black eyes stared at Corey with slight surprise, and Corey tilted his head to the side.

"But you're already dead."

"Huh?"

Pamela blinked in confusion, and the instant she did, her eyes widened in sheer disbelief and horror when she saw countless glowing hexagon barriers surround her.

"When-!"

"Boom."
