Chapter 478 : 477: Wing It
Chapter 478 : 477: Wing It
If there was one thing that Corey was certain about as he fought Aethara, it was that he was going to use Aethara to create an abomination with his Nightmare Finger.
After Aethara's transformation to the Fallen Angel of Rot, Corey was surprised when he sensed that he could use Aethara's corpse to create an abomination with his Nightmare Finger.
However, when he thought about it, Aethara was no longer purely human, but a hybrid of a Tainted and an abomination.
Corey already had the corpses of the Capra King and the Temple Guardian in his Tri-Pupil Eyes, and he planned on using their corpses to create abominations that could grow alongside him.
He had never created an abomination before, and he was curious and intrigued by what would appear and happen when he created an abomination.
Corey could only imagine what sort of abominations would be created from the corpses of the Capra King who had the energy of an Earth Infinity Crystal in him, the Temple Guardian who had the aura of the Old Ones, and Aethara who had immense potential to become a powerful being.
'Although I only have two Nightmare Fingers at the moment, I'll make sure that the corpses of Aethara and the Capra King are used to create abominations. If I'm not able to get another Nightmare Finger before I leave this shattered dimension, then I'll just hold on using the Temple Guardian's corpse till I get a third Nightmare Finger.'
'I also have to wait till I become a Tier 3 before I can create and store an abomination that was created with their corpses.'
'Well… That's if I don't die while facing her and if I don't die in my evolution to Tier 3.'
Corey wryly thought as he stared at Aethara.
Although he knew that if he went to the Temples of the Old Ones that were in certain cities, then he would most likely find a Nightmare Finger, however, he would not do such a thing.
Obtaining a Nightmare Finger in an abandoned and solitary temple was much easier than obtaining a Nightmare Finger in a Temple filled with people.
Not only would he have to fight the Temple Guardian or Guardians, but he would also have to fight the Tainteds that would be guarding the Temples, which would then lead to him becoming enemies of the cities.
He was already fighting the Anacletus clan of Stormhold City, not the city itself, and he was already at death's door. He could only imagine how terrible it would be if he had to fight an entire city with his current abilities.
Although a part of him felt that not taking the chance and opportunity to obtain more Nightmare Fingers was a waste, he knew that it was not worth it.
Unlike the Infinity Crystals which were vital and extremely important to his survival, the Nightmare Fingers were not.
In fact, the Nightmare Fingers contained a fraction of the soul of one of the Old Ones, and they were extremely dangerous objects, even for him.
'Luckily, I have Rhea.' Corey thought with a slight smile as the image of Rhea flashed in his mind.
Barely seven seconds had gone in reality after Aethara said the words, 'Welcome to my Imperium,' and Corey had been observing every aspect of her Imperium with his Eyes and Ears of Omniscience.
A second passed, and Corey released a deep breath. He held Selene who was on his back tightly, and after making sure that her condition was slowly but surely improving as he poured his dream energy into her body, he gazed into Aethara's piercing gold eyes and smiled lightly.
"Any chance we all just forget about our grievances, talk it out, and then go our separate ways?"
Aethara tilted her to the side, and gestured to the side with her hand, "After all you've done?"
Corey followed her hand, and his mouth could not help but twitch when he saw the horrifying corpses of the army of the Anacletus clan.
"... Right… I guess you do have a point."
Corey sighed while closing his eyes. His right hand which he was using to hold Selene moved, and three centipedes appeared from the tip of his index finger, and then it crawled down his legs.
The moment the centipede reached the heel of his foot, Corey snapped open his eyes, and then he started running. The centipedes flew.
His direction?
Away from Aethara.
There was no way he was going to face Aethara head-on while he was in her domain. Before her transformation, he had a time keeping up with her speed and power.
After her transformation to the Fallen Angel of Rot, her power increased to the point where it gave him shivers and goosebumps, and now with her Imperium unfurled, the aura she emanated could not be put into words, and at this point, Corey just hoped that he would be able to react to her speed and survive her attacks.
However, despite all of these, Corey was certain of one thing, and although this thing favored Corey, it also made him realize just how much of a monster Aethara was.
The current consumption of Aethara's energy was high.
There was a reason why Imperium was an ability meant for Tier 7s and above, and that was because the energy consumption was extremely high.
There were Tier 6s that had the ability to use Imperium, however, the energy consumption of Imperium made it so that most of these people only used Imperium as a trump card and not a casual ability.
However
However!
HOWEVER!
This was not so for Aethara!
Sure, Aethara's energy consumption was high, but it was not to an exaggerated degree. From what he could see with his Eyes of Omniscience and sense with his Paragon Senses, Aethara should be able to keep her Imperium for an hour at most.
Corey could definitely not last that long. He was sure of this, and because of this, he was planning on doing one thing…
'Wing It.'
Corey's eyes flashed coldly as he ran, and then the ground in front of him trembled and the crimson vines lashed at him.
A cold light flashed in Corey's eyes and he slowed down slightly.
