Chapter 473 : 472: Inhuman Shriek

As Selene watched the edge of Aethara's saber approach her like the scythe of the reaper, she placed her sword in front of her, intending to block the attack.

However, she suddenly felt a familiar energy and aura engulf her body, and a sense of deja vu hit her. She subconsciously blinked, and then her vision changed.

'Did Master switch places with me?' Selene thought as she was able to recall the strange energy that contained Corey's unmistakeable aura in it.

It would not be the first time that Corey had exchanged places with her with his Tri-Pupil Eyes, and since the energy that usually engulfed her body was extremely unique, she was able to recall the sense of familiarity when Corey used it on her once again.

CLANG!

BANG!

A shockwave blasted her from the back, and she quickly turned in surprise. The clang of metals hitting one another resounded in her ears, and her eyes widened in slight surprise when she saw Corey fighting Aethara without being blasted away.

She saw Aethara deliver a downward strike with her left saber while swinging her right saber towards the left side of Corey's waist, but to Selene and Aethara's surprise and disbelief, Corey swung his massive axe like it weighed nothing, and he successfully parried both strikes in quick succession without getting blasted away.

However, the ground beneath his feet seemed to bear the brunt of the attack.

After parrying both attacks, Corey swung the bottom of his axe toward Aethara's face, intending to smack her with it. However, Aethara calmly moved her head to the back, dodging the attack with ease.

Corey was not deterred, and without allowing Aethara to rest, he jumped and performed a sudden roundhouse kick on her face.

Aethara was taken aback by Corey's choice of moves, and she was barely able to place her right arm in front of her face to block Corey's kick.

BAM!

The air behind Aethara shook from the force of the attack, and Aethara's eyes widened in surprise at the power behind Corey's kick.

Just as Aethara was about to make a move, Corey continued his relentless onslaught. While he was still in the air, he clenched his axe tightly and then he twisted his body in a way that should not be humanely possible and swung his multicolored glowing axe at Aethara.

Aethara's eyes widened slightly when she saw Corey's axe coming at her from below. Her stance was not steady and her posture was terrible for her to react in the best possible way. If she was not careful, the axe would cut her.

Aethara took a step back, and just as Corey's axe was about to touch Aethara's skin, the crimson vines on her body moved. Some grabbed tried to grab the axe while others blocked the blade of the axe from touching Aethara's skin.

Corey frowned when he saw this, and a cold light flashed in his eyes when he saw the crimson vines trying to wrestle his axe from him.

Dreamfire

A flame that contained a mixture of three colors- Azure, Silver, and Violet, spread out from Corey's hands and engulfed his Genesis Armament.

EEEIIIGGHHHKKKK!!!

To Corey's surprise, Aethara released a loud and inhuman shriek the instant his Dreamfire touched the crimson vines.

Corey was momentarily taken aback by the inhuman shriek that Aethara released, and because of this, he failed to react quickly to Aethara's attack which was a swing of her saber at his left shoulder.

Despite his brief absent-mindedness, his Stars of Consciousness instinctively controlled his body to raise his axe and block Aethara's saber. However, his Stars of Consciousness had reacted too late and he was blown away with his left shoulder sustaining a visible gash.

Corey tumbled on the ground for a few seconds, and then he used his right hand to stop himself from tumbling. The instant he stopped himself, his instincts screamed at him, and he snapped his head upward.

His eyes widened slightly when he was met with Aethara's piercing gold eyes, however, there was something different about this time around.

It was cold… Bone chilling and Soul freezing cold.

Corey knew, he just knew that he had made Aethara angry, and this time around, she wanted to kill him.

With a soft kick of his leg, he activated the skill, Super Jump, and he distanced himself from Aethara, however, Aethara suddenly jumped, and her jump brought her extremely close to Corey. The distance between was less than the length of Corey's arm!

Aethara swung her sabers, and this time around, her black sabers emitted a black glow that sent shivers down Corey's spine.

Corey's pupils consticted when he saw this, and without hesitation, he used the skill, Teleportation.

SHIIIIINNNG!!!

A saber howl resounded throughout the Raging Sky, and at the spot where Corey previously stood was an extremely large fissure that sundered the ground in two. The depths of the fissure could not be seen, and the only thing that illuminated the darkness of the fissure were the flashes of countless lightning bolts in the sky.

Aethara frowned deeply as she stared at the massive fissure she had just created which was in front of her. She calmly turned, and then her cold piercing gold eyes reflected the image of Corey kneeling while holding the right side of his body and his right arm.

On the right side of his body was a gash so large and deep that Corey's bones and baked muscles could be seen.

Despite the fact that Corey had teleported before Aethara launches her attack, he still sustained a grievous injury because her attack had not only split the ground, it temporarily cut apart space also.

Corey's skill, Teleportation, was not instant. Whenever he teleported with the skill, he used approximately one second to move from one place to the other, and because of this, Aethara had been able to severely injure him.

Aethara calmly and slowly approached Corey, and then she stood in front of him with a cold and indifferent expression.

"What were those flames?"
