Chapter 471 : 470: Boredom

The moment Aethara tried to kill Selene with a casual swing of her sword, Corey was able to react on time because his mind was entirely on Aethara and every single movement she made.

Although he had been taking his gaze off her, his Eyes of Omniscience provided him a birds eye view of everything that was happening in a hundred meter radius at the bare minimum.

Because of this, he was able to react to Aethara's sudden attack, and he pushed Selene out of the way while using his axe to block Aethara's saber.

To his slight disbelief and surprise, the force and strength behind her attack was more than he expected and he was sent flying away despite blocking the attack.

Through the birds eye view of his Eyes of Omniscience, he saw himself fly toward Selene and then he crashed into her, her body taking the brunt of the impact.

Selene felt like crying as she felt her body cry out in pain as she felt Corey's body move.

Selene cried out inwardly as Corey slowly got up.

Corey's voice flowed into her ears, and then she saw Corey stretch out a hand toward her with his gaze remaining on Aethara who was slowly and calmly approaching them.

Selene glanced at his hand for a second, and then she grabbed it. The instant she held Corey's hands, she felt a foreign energy pass through her body. The energy caused her body to shiver in a strange pleasure, and for a moment, Selene almost closed her legs and released a moan.

Fortunately for her, Corey was forced to leave her hand due to Aethara increasing her speed.

Selene was at a loss when the foreign energy disappeared from her body, leaving her body and emotions in a sort of limbo, however, when she heard the loud sound of two weapons clashing and the sound of the shockwave, she was brought back to reality and she jumped to her feet.

She used a fraction of a second to observe her body, and she was pleasantly surprised to see that the minor injuries she got from cushioning Corey's fall were healed.

'Isn't Master too much of a monster?'

Selene glanced at Corey who was blown away after clashing with Aethara, the difference in power and physical strength between Corey and Aethara was all too clear for her to see.

She looked around, and then her eyes landed on what she had been looking for, the sword Corey had brought out from the black fog of poison.

Lightning appeared on her feet, and then she moved towards the sword in a flash. She grabbed the sword, swung it a few times, and then she nodded.

Lightning appeared on her feet once again, and then she turned toward Corey and Aethara, and with a Bang!, she ran toward Corey and Aethara.

Corey had just blocked another one of Aethara's saber strike, and just like before, he was sent flying. However, unlike the previous three times, there was a major difference.

This time around, Corey landed on his feet and the distance at which he was blasted away had reduced considerably.

He was adapting to the strength of Aethara's attacks!, and he was adapting fast!

Aethara knew this, but she was not bothered. Her expression was still one of indifference and calmness, and what Corey did not know was that deep in her heart, she was disappointed and bored.

Unlike Raegar, she was not filled with rage, hate, and sadness at the death of the soldiers of the Anacletus clan. Although she was angry, it was a flickering anger that was about to go out.

The only reason she wanted to kill Corey was because Raegar wanted Corey dead. If not, she would not be interested in battling Corey in the slightest.

"Do you keep you can defeat me if all you do is defend my attacks?"

Aethara slowly lowered her sabers, and asked with an soft emotionless tone. For a moment, a flicker of boredom could be seen in her eyes.

Corey raised his brows, and then he gave a soft smile.

The instant Corey said these words, Aethara's eyes widened slightly. With a calm and indifferent expression, she turned and swung her right saber upward.

"Damn it! Is she a woman? She has the strength of a behemoth!"

Selene's voice resounded in the ears of both Corey and Aethara.

Aethara raised her brows when she heard Selene's words, and with her head tilted to the side, she observed the struggling Selene who was gritting her teeth with the veins on her neck almost popping out.

Aethara's mouth opened, and she was about to speak, however she frowned, and then she placed her left saber in front of her neck.

A massive axe with a dark silver blade slammed into Aethara's pure black saber, and the instant the two weapons collided, a massive shockwave shattered the ground beneath them, causing rocks, stones, and debris to fly around.

Despite the massive shockwave and power behind the axe, Aethara's expression remained one of indifference, calmness, and boredom as she nonchalantly blocked the axe with her saber that was dangerously close to her neck.

She looked up, and then her pupils reflected the sight of Corey's supremely handsome face that contained a frigid coldness in his gaze as he struggled to push his axe into her neck. Despite the fact that Corey was taller than her, her presence seemed much greater than Corey's due to the fact that she was nonchalantly stopping two weapons.

She shifted her gaze from Corey's face to his axe, and then her lips parted open.

"Do you really think the two of you can defeat me with how weak you are?"

A cold smile appeared on Corey's lips, and then he replied, "Of course... Trust me, I've been in worse situations."

Aethara cocked her side and stared at Corey for approximately three seconds, and then she spoke.
