Chapter 469 : 468: Battle (1)

BANG!

The instant Raegar's massive greatsword hit the ground, a sound that was akin to a massive explosion resounded across the Raging Sky.

The earth sundered apart, the dark clouds above were blasted away, and countless crimson lightning bolts that were formed as a result of the attack turned the earth in a radius of fifty meters to magma.

The massive shockwave blasted Pamela, Selene, and Corey who was already blasted away, to a much farther distance.

Selene flew and tumbled on the ground with a scream a few times before coming to a stop. Pamela had a calm expression and her eyes were fixed on Raegar as she manipulated the runes of the wind element to reduce the speed of her 'flight'.

Meanwhile, Corey tumbled and smashed into multiple large rocks and magma, and he sustained some injuries as a result.

After what seemed like forever, but was actually three seconds, Corey slammed into a massive rock and came to a stop. He could not help but subconsciously hiss in annoyance and pain.

His pure white eyes fluttered open, and with a grunt, he forced himself from the ground. He inhaled and exhaled deeply for a few seconds, and his mind recalled the near-death experience he just had.

Raegar's strength and speed were out of his expectations, and for a moment, he was shaken by how massive the gap between their strength and speed was.

Although he had expected Raegar's reaction, the fact that he could not react to Raegar's sudden attack shook him.

The reason why he had not perished under the edge of Raegar's greatsword was because of Pamela.

Pamela was able to react quickly, and she used her mana to forcefully push Corey out of the path of Raegar's sword. The shockwave from Raegar's sword hitting the ground sent him flying to a further distance.

'It's not that he's stronger than the Capra King, he's just taking me seriously and he genuinely wants to kill me, unlike the Capra King.'

Corey released a soft groan, and then he slowly stood while his stars of consciousness actively used Dream Healing to heal the injuries on his body.

'Fighting a Tier 6 or beings that are comparable to Tier 6 is beyond my abilities even though I have two infinity crystals… Fortunately, she's here with me this time around.'

Corey glanced at Pamela, and then he shifted his gaze back to Raegar.

"Come… Why don't you show me how you killed Gunnarr… Did you also use poison on him?... Fight me like the cowardly warrior that you are."

Raegar slowly and calmly walked towards Corey while dragging his massive greatsword on the shattered ground. His voice was as deep, coarse, and broken as a being from the depths of hell, and his silver-white hair turned crimson and each strand of his hair became crimson lightning bolts.

Crimson lightning bolts shot out from his body, destroying the ground, and anything around him in the process, and Corey could not help but smile wryly as he felt the power emanating from Raegar.

'Tier 6 is really too much for me.'

The instant Corey had this thought, his instincts instantly sent blaring warning signals to his mind, and he felt the hair on his neck stand and his pupils instantly constricted.

In less than a fraction of a second, his stars of consciousness controlled his body and he ducked.

WOOOOSH!

SHIIIINNGGG!

BANG!!!!

Corey's eyes widened to the limit as he saw a thin line fly past his head while splitting the ground and even a part of space in front of him into two.

His instincts blared to life once again, and he instantly rolled to the side.

BANG!

A silver armored foot with crimson vines coiling round the ankle upward, appeared in his previous spot, and the ground cracked and broke apart the instant the foot landed on the ground.

Corey, who was now approximately eight meters away from the foot, instantly got up to his feet and looked at the person who tried to kill him.

To his surprise, it wasn't Raegar but Aethara that attacked him.

Corey glanced at Raegar's direction, and he was relieved when he saw Pamela standing in front of him.

'It's better like that. I'm not strong enough to face him especially when he wants to kill me, so let her face him instead... Fortunately, she's strong.'

Just as Corey had this thought, his Eyes of Omniscience saw Aethara vanish, and Corey instantly rolled to the side once again.

SHIIIING!

A thin line appeared from behind him, traveling far until it collided with the ground, and then caused a long crevice to be formed.

Corey saw all of these with his Eyes of Omniscience while performing backflips that sent him further away from Aethera.

Two seconds later, he stopped, and stared at Aethara with a solemn and cold gaze. This time around, he observed her, and the first thing he noticed were her weapons.

Aethara's weapons were a pair of pure black sabers with white and silver runes on them. However, what caught Corey's attention was the familiar aura radiating from the pair of sabers, and with his unique mind, he was able to instantly recollect why it felt familiar.

'That's a Genesis Armament.'

Corey's expressions became more solemn as he realized this, and to his slight surprise, Aethara spoke.

"You're very good at running away."

Corey was taken aback for an instant, but then he shrugged nonchalantly while stretching out his right hand.

His Genesis Armament also appeared in his right hand.

"I know, and I'm very proud of it."

Corey shamelessly spoke, and Aethara tilted her side while glancing at Corey's Genesis Armament from time to time.

"That should not be something a warrior should be proud of."

Corey shrugged nonchalantly once again, "Well, it should be... The person who lives is the winner, and the person who dies is the loser."

This time around, Aethara furrowed her brows slightly, "You're truly not fit to be a warrior. Warriors would never choose to use poison, only cowards and Assassins do such."

Corey tilted his head to the side, and a baffled expression could be seen on his face.

"You call me a coward for using poison, but I sense a familiar power from you... Don't you also use poison?"

An expression of disgust and disdain instantly appeared on Aethara's face the moment she heard Corey's words.

"Do not compare my Power of Rot to poison..."

Without allowing Corey to respond, Aethara raised the saber on her right hand and pointed it at Corey.

"Show me how you killed Gunnarr who has never defeated me, and who knows, maybe you'll finally allow me to taste something I've never tasted before."

Corey was instantly confused, and he could not help but have numerous thoughts, and each of them was more wrong than the last.

He shook his head, and he could not help but ask before he allowed his mind to roam free.

"What have you not tasted before?"

"Defeat." Aethara replied with a calm and indifferent tone.
