Chapter 781 Chief Princess
Chapter 781 Chief Princess
God subtly smiled while looking at the nine-tailed fox and agreed to his granddaughter's question. "Yes. Herbert. He tends to act a bit foolishly at times. But other than that, he will make a great companion for anyone."

Ariel now grabbed the fox's snout with both of her hands and giggled. "Oh, is that so? Then you must like him?"
"I do," God replied.
And he started to walk ahead, prompting Ariel to leave Herbert's side and follow him.

Earlier, when God had disappeared from the garden for a while, he had sensed Irene entering the Heaven realm and looking around for Ariel.
That was exactly what he was waiting for – his daughter's arrival in Heaven. He wanted Irene to pass along some messages to Theodore.
And Irene did just that. She teleported back to the Earth realm with a few pieces of news.
Theodore was impatiently waiting right where Irene had left him earlier – in the middle of the air, in front of the portal that separated the two realms.
"Where's Ariel?" Theodore asked in a worried voice as soon as he saw Irene.
Irene hovered in front of her brother and answered him, "She's fine. She is with our father."
"She's…" Theodore's voice came out a bit louder than he had expected, so he instantly pressed his lips together so as not to scare away his sister whom he was meeting after a long time. He closed his eyes and ran his fingers through his black hair in frustration.
And he spoke again while controlling the pitch of his voice, "She's with our father! That's not okay, Irene… He is the very person who I want to protect her from."
Irene was, by now, aware of what their father wanted from Ariel. She knew that she wasn't supposed to leave Ariel in God's care. However, when her father came and talked with her, she couldn't insist on taking Ariel back with her at that very instant.
She lowered her head a little and then apologized to her brother, "I know I should have brought her with me. But our father said that all he wanted to do was get Ariel acquainted with a few places in Heaven. He said that he would send her back within half an hour."
Theodore held his head with both of his hands as if that was the worst thing that he had heard in a century.
He controlled his urge to face the sky and scream at his father for taking his daughter hostage. And he said to Irene in a ragged whisper, "Irene… half an hour with him is too long! Please… Go and get her. I don't trust that old man around my daughter."
Irene hesitated because she was too afraid to go against her father's wishes.
So instead, she tried to calm her brother down by giving him a piece of good news, "Okay, I will go and get her. But first, I think you should know something about Michael…"
She looked at Theodore's face to make sure that he wasn't getting pissed. And when she found his interest piqued, she further said rather calmly, "Michael is no longer the Chief Prince of Heaven. He paid for what he did to Ariel with his favorite seat."
Theodore simply raised his brows slightly without showing any kind of excitement on his face.
Irene could swear that she saw her brother getting worried when he should be laughing. After all, Michael had wronged him and his daughter and got punished for it.
"Then who is the new puppet of the Heaven realm?" Theodore asked Irene while frowning deeply.
With Ariel there in the Heaven realm, he wondered if his father kidnapped his daughter to declare her the next Chief Princess.
Thankfully for him, Irene answered, "It's Tobias. If you ask me, there couldn't be anyone better suited for that role than young Tobias."
Theodore's frown softened a bit after hearing Tobias' name. He couldn't care less who the next puppet of the Heaven realm was unless it was his daughter.
After letting out a subtle sigh of relief, he looked at Irene and asked again, "Well off you go then. Bring my daughter back to me."
Irene forcefully pushed the corner of her lips to form a smile and nodded. "Alright. I will be back with her…" She turned around to fly back to the Heaven realm, although not sure if she would actually go and fetch Ariel when her father had clearly said to her that he would be sending Ariel back on his own.
Irene was right about herself. Even after guessing where Ariel could possibly be at the moment, she decided to roam around rather than go and get Ariel.
After wasting about 10 minutes flying aimlessly, she finally decided to go to her parents' abode. She thought that that would be enough time for the almighty to have an ice-breaking talk with Ariel, but not enough to plant the seeds of his ideals into her.
"Aunty Irene!" Ariel gave a wide smile and waved her hand at Irene when she saw her. She was glad that her aunt was there because she had been wanting to go back to her dad for a while now.
God, on the other hand, wasn't very happy to see Irene there despite his instructions earlier. "Irene…" he mumbled in a rather displeased voice. "I haven't shown Ariel anything yet. We are still here in my garden," he emphasized.
However, before Irene could fumble and run back to Theodore alone, Ariel quickly said, "Grandpa, it's alright. I will come back here again when I have a lot of leisure time. And you can show me around all the places here."
Though he wasn't willing to send his granddaughter back yet, he agreed to see her off, only because Ariel had been through a lot tonight.
He lovingly caressed his granddaughter's silver and black hair which reminded him of his wife as well as his son. And he said to Ariel, "I will leave you be then. But you should remember that you have a lot of family members here."
Ariel smiled and swiftly nodded her head. "I will see you soon, grandpa," she replied in her sweetest voice.
God was more than happy to hear that, although he didn't show much delight on his face.
