Chapter 197: Days of Peace – Part 3

? Radio waves~, radio waves~! ? We're going to get some radio wa~ves! ?

It isn't the internet, but I predict we'll have a lot of trouble with connecting the towns through wires, so this is the best way for us to start something. Once everyone knows the benefits of cheap communication, there will be a lot more people interested in helping. I bet we'll be able to cheaply recreate the internet with [Eternal Gate]s, but we need more communication protocols before we go hard on something like that.

"What if we use [Eternal Gate]s?" Lyle suddenly suggests, almost making me jump as he reads my mind.

I clear my throat to give me time to recompose myself, then I calmly explain my reasoning, "Indeed. The energy, and, therefore, the mana cost, will be very low, lower than normal teleported letters, but we need to set up a variety of ways of communicating before we go hard on that one. You can turn off the Gate comms by just using a [Gate] 'scrubber.'"

And the smart boy quickly gets it. "Right, the waves have plenty of strategic uses, too."

"Exactly," I hum with a nod.

Now Lyle is getting into things, and I have nothing to add, so I leave him be. But I'm in a helping mood, so how about I visit my little bro Fuda? He's going crazy now that the gem refinery has actually begun some production, and the shop is glowing from all the sparkly shit he's putting on the table/board games.

"Perhaps this is… too much?" I question worriedly as I walk through a sparkly corridor that hurts my eyes.

But little Fuda is very confident in his answer, "What? Did you see the armor that the nobles wear? I'm having trouble making these items more sparkly."

I can't actually deny that. Elven nobles wear dark-colored armor when going out to battle, but most of them have a separate ceremonial set that's as flashy as it can be. Also, money is money, so, as long as he has customers… though there's another angle that I want to explore.

And I search for words to describe what I'm thinking without offending him, "What about… 'sensibly lavish'? Or, rather, 'tastefully lavish'?"

"Hmm…" he hums thoughtfully and lowers his eyes, but he's still walking forward, so I quickly nudge him on the shoulder to make him avoid banging his head on one of the tables.

"Variety rather than abundance. Find the different types of customers and look for ways to satisfy them," I suggest after making sure his path is safe.

This seems to do it as he raises his head and nods at me. "I think I get it. Like, you don't wear sparkly clothes, but I can tell they're very… stylish."

I'm flattered by the compliment. I do enjoy the tightness of elven clothes as they show the shape of my fit but not very muscular body and also my large bulge whenever I want to show off. But I want to have a fun time with my little bro, so I suggestively suggest with a grin, "Exactly. And do you know what helps me come up with designs? Getting a blowjob while I think."

"Sure!" he agrees before I even make the proposal. He's one of my people, really.

And we have an art brainstorming session while two dragonkin mommies help us think. He seems to like them big and strong, which is quite the patrician taste.

Once the sun starts to set, we have a quick training session with The Four while also doing Gestalt. Standard stuff, but we need to start thinking about how to implement guns in our formation. We'll soon have some enchanted ones that penetrate armor almost as well as my Cock does a woman, so Alissa definitely needs to use one.

It's a shame that her [Bow Use] is likely not giving any boost to [Marksmanship], but bows can have their uses, and she's continuing to learn Nocturna's spells, which are focused on infiltration, so the bow can be used there. There are very few places where she will be able to bring a rifle into without looking extremely suspicious (for a few years, at least), so it won't be completely wasted.

Not sure if we're ever actually going to have to infiltrate somewhere that we can't just ask to get in or enter by force, but it's good to have alternatives.

Then it's time for a bath and to refresh ourselves after sweating a bit, which in my case means sweating a bit more as I need to appease Hana, then it's time for another amazing dinner, followed by evening relaxation. Our daily life is very organized, even when things hit the fan because we're just so used to working together.

I wonder what we could even improve without using the magical Gestalt. People say to never get too comfortable as perfection is an endless treadmill, but, practically, there's nothing in our relationships that can become better.

While I ponder, I notice that Alissa and Thea are doing well together, and they're having fun playing with illusions. Alissa is attempting to make a Gify clone while Thea prefers to experiment with coming up with new types of flowers, like a stereotypical girly girl.

Seeing the comically warped little Gify that Alissa is making (and the real Gify's attempt at copying them), Thea comes up with a random idea. "What if you use [Dream Veil] to create a mask?" she suddenly asks. We're having a lot of ideas today; maybe the Day of Electricity is having an effect on our neurons?

"A mask? Why not just a different face?" Alissa retorts, her Gify turning into a blobcat, or rather, blobbirb.

"Easier to make. If your face looks weird, people are going to notice," Thea replies, her own flower turning into a pink lollipop due to her distraction.

"Just train until you're good at faces, then?" my slutty fox argues back, letting her [Dream Veil] Gify dissipate into smoke, then she grabs the real one and pets her as she attempts to become a blob too.

My pale fox glances down, looking envious of the slut for a split second, then she soberly continues, "There may be occasions where going for a cheaper spell would be more beneficial. As long as the goal is simply 'keep your identity protected,' then anything works."

This makes Alissa's brain hang. She has always been trained to be the best at what she does, so training to be "just enough" doesn't compute in her whorish foxy brain. She's the fantasy equivalent of an overachiever, it's just that here you can actually gain skills by pushing yourself to the limit, contrary to Earth, really.

"I think… that I understand," she hesitantly accepts, taking her time to think this through as she hasn't instantly read my thoughts on the matter, but then she does it anyway for good measure. "Variety is good, too."

"Yes, exactly!" Thea replies, almost squealing. She's so happy she got Alissa to see her side that she smiles like a happy little girl. I think Thea needs a lot of reassurance as she's also an overachiever, but her "job" is to seduce me and "integrate" within our inner circle, so it's a lot more stressful than what Alissa's was.

She's so adorable.

It also makes me horny, but I don't want to interrupt the innocent girl time.

So I spend a bit of time brooding while staring at the sea of mist hitting the Bark Shield Wall.

No, nothing's really happening lately, I just feel the need to brood because I got used to the stress. Something must always be happening or my hedonistic heart feels like drowning in sex. This happens regularly, so I'm still learning how to deal with it.

Brooding seems to give me a bit more self-control due to the angst for some reason. I'm pretty sure it's because of my draconic side as it has a thing for anger, after all. I expected anger to make me lose control, but I guess a moderate amount of it keeps me focused.

"Wha-, I don't mind you always being horny," Hana sultrily remarks as she approaches me on the balcony. Caterina is being sexually harassed by the usual suspects, so Hana has a bit more freedom.

"I don't mind you always being horny," I reply without even turning around, then I wrap my thick tail around her waist.

"No, you do. I take work to satisfy; I know that much," she admits as she lands a hand on my shoulder.

It'd be dumb to deny that when she can read my mind, so I won't even try.

"Self-control is always good," I hum back and cross my arms as I strike a very brooding pose. The girls seem to like it, so I might as well.

"Don't become a masochist like the Holy back in Maoka," Roxanne telepathically teases.

"I'll never practice abstinence," I immediately retort with a snort.

"Then what are you trying to do?" Hana questions with a raised red eyebrow.

Now that's a critical. "Uh… not-abstinence…?"

And she gives me an amused look.

So I attempt to salvage this, "I mean… there's a difference. I can't just drop everything and fuck anytime I want…" -She leans closer to me and stares harder- "Okay, most of the time I can drop everything and fuck, but there's still that five-… no, one percent of the time that I can't."

Then she pushes my head against her bare breasts just to tease me. "How about we test your will?" she whispers sultrily, mimicking Osaria's deeper seductive tone, and it's another hit.

But my HP is still high. "You just got your fill. At least choose someone else."

She pushes me harder, squishing her jelly bags of goodness as she whines, "But I want yooo~u."

"Hana, you have to share," I warn her sternly.

"Noooo~!" she cries, dropping the seductive act completely.

I activate Ted and have him pull out a belt, which he magically sends to me, and then I wrap it around Hana's neck. "Time for some 'reinforcement training.'"

And though she's excited about it, there's still a part of her that dreads the pain. There will always be a part that dreads it unless she learns [Pain Resistance], and I'll never allow that.

But I don't immediately give her what she wants. The concubines need some attention, so I play with my loyal sheep milf and ensure that the others are happy before I give the rest of my evening to Hana. And she's tortured all the while.

Today is the 7th, Fis, day of Nature. We'll visit Gify's garden room today to tend to the plants, and I'm already dreading having to work on Alissa's Flower Head trophies.

But at least my morning begins well, and it's by reflexively choking Hana while Roxanne works on my Cock. I may be getting too into torturing them, but they don't mind, so it's fine.

And today, I'm going to be visiting the Titans, so I'm eager to see how they're doing. I mean, I do know because the girls visited them before me, but I want to show my face and talk to them myself.

Intermission – Long Howl

Our home has been destroyed.

It was out of our control, and for reasons unrelated to us, but it still hurts. We left a piece of ourselves in there, after all.

Now we go through hard and uncertain times. Our… "hosts" don't treat us badly, but we can sense a coldness and distance from them. It feels so lonely even if the whole village is still together, though I think there's something else in that feeling that unsettles me about these "humanoids."

I don't understand myself… and that's scary.

Is it just the different land, or are we being affected by something? There's magic everywhere here. In the land, in the plants, in the food, in the water, in the people, and in the air. I feel as if I'm underwater even though there's no resistance.

And when I look at the humanoids, I feel something "odd" about them.

During our journey, they were kind but seemingly afraid of us. They said we were guests of their king, so that may be part of the reason they were acting like that, and we're also almost twice their size on average, which could be the other part, but even then, there's something else in there.

People say I'm good with words or thinking, but I can't even understand this feeling that plagues all of us. If I had to trust my instincts, then I'd say that we feel jealousy while they feel pity, but why would either of us feel so?

Jealousy of what? Pity of what?

These thoughts swirled around in my mind during the whole journey to our new home. We went down from the clouds, leaving behind the only land we ever knew about, and we were met with the Endless.

Land and water as far as the eye could see, and with a huge, golden tower that went back into the world of clouds, so big we could use it to guide us towards our destination. I'd taken baths in the lake, but I never knew what an ocean looked like, and it seemed to sparkle just like the core of our islands but blue and with its surface waving in entrancing ways.

Beautiful, but also… unsettling. I dream about it almost every day, but I'm scared to talk to the humanoids about it.

Then we were taken across cold mountains and into the skies above a forest. Their cities don't seem to be as big or imposing as the ones that the Throat described when he wanted to remind us of our failure, but watching the people move about like little ants felt oddly comforting. Their houses seem to have so much color and vibrancy, too, and it gave me another new feeling.

It's all so confusing as even staring at the endless canopies of the trees made me feel something.

Then we got a glimpse of a lavish lifestyle as we were briefly housed in huge mansions. "Uncomfortably comfortable" is what I'd call that experience, and this phrase is the one that makes the most sense out of everything we've gone through.

But then we soon were accepted into our final home, and now our new struggle began. Living as "elves" takes work and dedication. Like I said, there's magic in the land, in the plants, in the food, in the water, in the people, and in the air, so our people have suddenly been pressured into learning magic we've never seen before.

This was quickly caught on by Angel Queen Ciel when she visited us. The only one that made us feel at ease, and we even forgot about our troubles while she listened to us, which was a bad thing as were supposed to tell her about them. Still, she helped each and every one of us find our place based on the level of magic we had.

Then came the stealthy Fox Queen Alissa. She observed us all day, and for some reason, I enjoyed it. It's like she was a curious child learning about life, and I could almost hear the questions she wanted to ask but didn't for some reason.

Next was the Craftsman Queen Lina, who taught our smiths how to properly work the elven forges so we could craft and maintain our own specialized tools, though I heard the smith whisper that our ways were going to become obsolete as they inspected with wonder the tools the elves could make. I'm thankful they aren't prideful and have taken to learning the elven techniques as I'd hate to see them lose their jobs as they wouldn't be able to compete with our hosts.

Once Silent Dragon Queen Aoi arrived, everyone was struck by a wave of fear and awe, but it went as suddenly as it came, and I felt that if it lasted even a second longer, it would've made me kneel by instinct.

She came to deliver enchanted tools and observe how our smiths would adapt to them. It was a great charity what she did, and we'll be forever grateful to her as this helped our smiths improve their own ways of making tools so that they could stand on their own instead of just copying the elves.

After that, Fire Queen Hanafuria visited us. I sparred with her and was stunned by how much strength that small body of hers had. Her skill is just incomparable, so I don't even know how to describe it, but then we sparred with other humanoids, and now I feel scared of how much knowledge they have about killing our kind.

It was something we didn't consider before, but the only interactions between our two peoples have been when we tried to kill each other. Well, the real Titans would be offended at my use of "our" but we Exiles are still Titans, we just lack the heart that our God should've given us.

To end, what I mean is that all we knew was how to talk with weapons, and the humanoids have a big advantage over us. I'm not suspecting our hosts, but they did warn that other humanoids might attack us on sight.

We depend on them so much, but they won't always be there. We must rise on our own.

Smiling Queen Roxanne comes next, and she has a similar effect as Angel Queen Ciel, but, unfortunately, most of the younger men gained erections in her presence, so it caused a bit of tension as the Queen herself didn't acknowledge it and continued to interact with them. Still, she helped our herbalists restock and even adapted our recipes, so we wouldn't be left lost when sickness arrived.

By now it was quite obvious that each of the Royal Ryders were visiting us at least once, so it wasn't unexpected when Golden Queen Yulania arrived. She spent the whole day talking to the elder, and at one point I was gracefully allowed to participate as they discussed rules and punishments.

The elves have too many laws, and as the Enforcer, it's now my job to learn them, though it isn't expected for me to uphold them all immediately, which is why both sides encouraged everyone to not interact too much in case of trouble. The last thing we want is animosity to happen when we know so little about each other.

Then King Wolf, the Holy, arrives, and everyone kneels.
